Brianna Heaney, from Queensland, Australia, captured the serene encounter. The footage shows the confident young calf twisting and gliding through the water. Meanwhile, the mother whale remains close, relaxed and steady allowing her baby a brief moment of play before their long journey back toward Antarctica. Brianna described the pair as the most confident and calm she has ever shared the ocean with, calling the experience nothing short of magical. Brianna shared the video on Instagram where one user commented: “My soul is dying from these shots. This is the power and at the same time the tenderness of a mother.
