00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and in this installment of Must Watch,
00:12we're looking at movies, shows, and more that defined pop culture in November 2025.
00:22Number 10. Now You See Me, Now You Don't
00:25The Danny Ocean movies are fun and all, but you know what they needed more of?
00:30Magic.
00:30Who wants to see a magic trick?
00:32No, we're not talking about the on-screen magic of Clooney and Pitt,
00:35although that's always welcome.
00:37We mean illusions, which pair splendidly with the heist genre.
00:41After almost a decade out of the spotlight,
00:43The Four Horsemen's disappearing act is over.
00:45I'm talking about a trick that is bigger and better than anything you have ever seen.
00:50Now You See Me, Now You Don't brings back fan favorites like Isla Fisher's Henley,
00:53while also introducing new additions who feel right at home, such as Rosamund Pike.
00:58Still safe with me.
01:00Like any magic show, there are bound to be cynics who scoff at how preposterous this all is.
01:06If you're simply looking for a good time, though, this sequel more than does the trick.
01:10Open sesame.
01:13Way to represent, Merritt.
01:14Worth a try, was it?
01:16Never know.
01:17Number 9. Train Dreams.
01:20Emerging as a Sundance favorite last January,
01:22Train Dreams arrived in theaters this month ahead of its Netflix debut.
01:26What do you think?
01:31It's a pretty funny-looking bass, man.
01:36With an understated yet deeply emotional lead performance from Joel Edgerton at its core,
01:42Clint Bentley's adaptation of Dennis Johnson's novella follows Robert Greynier.
01:46Robert doesn't live the most exciting life.
01:48Come here, chicken.
01:50Come here, chicken.
01:51Often an observer rather than an instigator,
01:54Robert would be a supporting character in a more conventional film.
01:57Seeing the world through Robert's eyes, though,
01:59we experience all the joy and tragedy this man endures.
02:03I'm sorry.
02:10He may not leave a lasting footprint on history,
02:13but that doesn't mean Robert's life was insignificant.
02:15It mattered, just as any life does.
02:18A profound notion conveyed in a man and a film of few words.
02:22I'm just trying to find a way is all.
02:26Yeah.
02:31I know.
02:33James Garfield is among the few U.S. presidents who were assassinated while in office.
02:40Yet, his name doesn't come up as much as Abraham Lincoln or John F. Kennedy.
02:57Likewise, the man who shot Garfield, Charles J. Guiteau,
03:00isn't necessarily a household name like John Wiltz Booth or Lee Harvey Oswald.
03:05Death by Lightning is a fascinating history lesson,
03:08exploring Guiteau's motivations for killing the leader he once admired.
03:11Uh, we shook hands, um, the two of us, one time before, back in Chicago.
03:17I'm sure you wouldn't remember.
03:18I don't, I don't, I apologize.
03:21I don't think I do.
03:22That's okay.
03:24We're here now.
03:24Harried by a pair of great performances from Michael Shannon as Garfield and Matthew McFadden as Guiteau,
03:32part of what makes this period miniseries so shocking is how relevant it still is.
03:36I don't see your game in this.
03:39For some reason, it eludes me.
03:45There's no game.
03:47You've made your views perfectly well known.
03:50People in positions of power continue to be targeted,
03:53meaning there are more individuals like Guiteau out there than we care to admit.
03:58Oh, the ivory.
04:01It's museum quality.
04:02Number 7, Predator Badlands.
04:06We're not sure what's more surprising,
04:08that Dan Trachtenberg made three awesome Predator movies in a row,
04:12or that each was so different.
04:14So this is your first hunt.
04:21And you've come to the most dangerous planet in the universe.
04:24Prey was a stripped-down survival flick,
04:26while Predator Killer of Killers was an animated anthology.
04:30Now we have Predator Badlands,
04:31a buddy movie centered on a Predator and an android who's only half there.
04:36I could help you.
04:43Well, good luck with your journey.
04:46This shouldn't work.
04:48And yet it really works thanks to two endearing performances
04:51from Demetrius Schuster-Kolomontungi and Elle Fanning.
04:54Even with a PG-13 rating,
04:56the action is enthralling,
04:58the scale is epic,
04:59and the violence is bloody as hell.
05:01The blood is just green instead of red.
05:06Once again,
05:07Trachtenberg has redefined what a Predator movie can be,
05:10with rich characters,
05:11and as bizarre as it sounds,
05:13charm.
05:14We might not be alone in this hunt.
05:16Number 6, Wicked for Good.
05:19Wicked was everything we could have asked for
05:21in a feature-length adaptation of the stage musical's first act.
05:24Act 2 of the stage version
05:25is where the story gets a little messy for some.
05:27This is between us,
05:29the wizard,
05:30and I.
05:31While we'd be lying if we said that a few of those problems
05:34didn't carry over to the screen adaptation,
05:37we can't deny that Wicked for Good won us over.
05:39They're coming for you.
05:40Like the stage show,
05:42this sequel sticks the landing where it matters most,
05:44the friendship between Glinda and Elphaba.
05:47If part 1 didn't prove it already,
05:49for Good confirms that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo
05:52were born for these roles.
05:53Think of what we could do together.
05:57While both are strong individually,
05:59it's pure magic whenever they share the screen.
06:02And yeah, the titular song made us cry too.
06:05You're the only friend I ever had.
06:07Because I knew you.
06:10And I've had so many friends.
06:12I have been changed for good.
06:16But only one that mattered.
06:18Number 5, Zootopia 2.
06:20For all the flack Disney gets for IP mining,
06:23some franchises are worth revisiting,
06:25and not just for the sake of box office.
06:27Zootopia is one of them.
06:29No snake has set foot in Zootopia in forever.
06:35There's a snake!
06:37When the first movie came out in 2016,
06:40it wound up being more relevant
06:41than even the filmmakers could have imagined.
06:43Almost a decade later,
06:45Zootopia 2 delivers another urgent message
06:47without merely repeating its predecessor.
06:49All right, Carrots,
06:50any idea where you want to start?
06:52Yeah!
06:53If you want to find you a ripped hole,
06:55I am your gal.
06:56In addition to Prejudice,
06:58this sequel explores corruption,
06:59gentrification,
07:00and how entire cultures
07:02have had their cultures paved over
07:03in the name of quote-unquote progress.
07:06We have to solve the case.
07:07It's not worth dying for.
07:09Yet the message doesn't overshadow
07:11the film's comedy,
07:12mystery,
07:13or lovable characters.
07:14Judy and Nick are back,
07:16along with fun newcomers
07:17like Keehui Kwan's Gary.
07:18Wait, Cannonball!
07:21How fitting that Indiana Jones'
07:22former sidekick would be a snake.
07:25Number 4.
07:26Pluribus
07:27AI can be convenient and helpful,
07:29but it has some major drawbacks,
07:31both in terms of functionality and ethics.
07:33No, no, stop!
07:34Don't, don't, don't, don't come any closer.
07:36We don't mean to scare you, Carol.
07:38You're in no danger.
07:40We really do want to help.
07:42Sure, humanity is flawed as well,
07:44but humans gave us this Apple TV series,
07:46which is pretty flawless so far.
07:48We wouldn't expect anything less
07:49from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan,
07:51who re-teams with Ray Sehorne
07:53of Better Call Saul.
07:54You're more than welcome
07:55to sit up front with us if you like.
07:57You could take the controls.
07:59It's fun.
08:00Who's flying this thing?
08:01That gal from TGI Fridays?
08:05Maybe just concentrate on her.
08:07Sehorne gives another
08:08masterful performance as Carol,
08:10an author who finds herself
08:11practically alone
08:12in a world that changes in an instant.
08:15Direct, without being too on the nose,
08:17Pluribus will resonate with anyone
08:19who has ever felt like
08:20the last sane person on Earth.
08:21Why would you give me a hand grenade?
08:25You asked for one.
08:27Why not give me a fake one?
08:31Oh, sorry if we got that wrong, Carol.
08:34Would you surrender to the mob
08:36or continue to write your own story?
08:38Either way, this show is one of a kind.
08:40Can we talk about something else?
08:42I want to know.
08:46If you tell me, it'll make me happy.
08:48Number 3.
08:49Hamnet
08:50We can't imagine a world
08:52where Chloe Zhao's latest Masterstroke
08:54doesn't pick up several Oscar nominations.
08:56Is it true?
08:58You know everything about a person
08:59by touching the man?
09:01Not everything.
09:03Jessie Buckley may be the best actress frontrunner
09:05for her devastating performance
09:06as Agnes Shakespeare.
09:07Yes, the wife of that Shakespeare
09:10played by Paul Meskel
09:11in an equally gut-wrenching performance.
09:14My boy.
09:15While it's hard to say
09:17what exactly was going through
09:18Shakespeare's head when he wrote Hamlet,
09:20it might not be a coincidence
09:21that his only son was named Hamnet.
09:24Zhao and co-screenwriter Maggie O'Farrell
09:26present Shakespeare's most famous work
09:28in a more personal light
09:29than we ever imagined.
09:30To die.
09:32To sleep.
09:34Perchance to dream.
09:35The film may be a Shakespearean tragedy,
09:38but it also captures the beauty of life,
09:40demonstrating how art can provide
09:42a window into someone's soul.
09:44Bye.
09:45Bye.
09:46Bye.
09:46Bye.
09:47Bye.
09:48Bye.
09:51Number 2.
09:52Wake Up, Deadman
09:53Wake Up, Deadman
09:54is the most traditional whodunit
09:56in the Knives Out franchise thus far,
09:58while somehow also being
09:59the most untraditional.
10:00Everyone thinks I did it.
10:02I didn't do it.
10:04This goes way beyond
10:06normal police work.
10:07Those who've seen the film
10:08understand what we mean.
10:10For those who haven't,
10:11all you need to know
10:12is that Rian Johnson
10:13has done it again.
10:14It is time
10:15to discover
10:16what this flock of wicked wolves
10:20is hiding.
10:21So has Daniel Craig,
10:22who leads another A-list ensemble
10:24that includes Josh O'Connor,
10:26Glenn Close,
10:26and Jeremy Renner.
10:28Wait,
10:28doesn't Renner have his own hot sauce
10:29in this universe?
10:30Explain that, Benoit Blanc.
10:32I let him invest.
10:33He sends me like a pallet every year.
10:34In any case,
10:35this sequel sticks out
10:36from its predecessors
10:37with a gothic setting
10:38and religious allegories,
10:39while still being cut
10:40from the same cloth.
10:42It'll be on Netflix in December,
10:43but this mystery
10:44deserves the big screen treatment.
10:46This crowd appears
10:47impossible.

11:06Number 1.
11:07All's Fair
11:08Just when you thought
11:10All is Fair
11:10would be forever associated
11:11with Gal Gadot,
11:13Kim Kardashian said,
11:14I can do it even worse.
11:15Love and war.
11:16You chose war,
11:18and we won it.
11:19Number 1.
11:20Stranger Things Season 5,
11:22Volume 1
11:22Every generation,
11:24it seems like
11:25there's one franchise
11:25that not only captures
11:27the zeitgeist,
11:28but also follows
11:29a group of young actors
11:30we get to watch grow up.
11:31I think you're fighting
11:32two battles
11:33and you need to be fighting one.
11:34Mike's right, Dustin.
11:35What if you get hurt?
11:36Like, seriously hurt?
11:37You're drawing attention.
11:38Remember what Hop said.
11:39We need to keep our heads down.
11:41Follow the rules.
11:42Blend in.
11:43Stay focused on our next crawl.
11:44Do you even hear yourselves
11:46right now?
11:47Blend in.
11:48Follow the rules.
11:49That's not what we've ever done.
11:50In the 2000s,
11:51it was Harry Potter.
11:52In the mid-2010s
11:53and 2020s,
11:55it's been Stranger Things.
11:56Millie Bobby Brown,
11:57Finn Wolfhard,
11:58and Sadie Sink
11:59are just a few names
12:00who've matured
12:01from some of our best child stars
12:02to promising adult actors.
12:04When you're a prisoner
12:05in a messed up prison world,
12:08you really only have
12:08a few doors open to you.
12:10Watching the first four episodes
12:12of Stranger Things Season 5,
12:14which releases its second half
12:15in December,
12:16it doesn't just feel like
12:17the beginning of the end
12:18for this series.
12:19These visions,
12:21were they like before?
12:23Like when you had
12:24your now memories?
12:30Only more intense.
12:34It's like I was there.
12:36I was right there.
12:38It's the end of an era
12:39for anyone who has watched
12:40this cultural phenomenon
12:41from the get-go,
12:42making 2016 feel
12:44even further away
12:45than 1987.
12:47It flints!
12:48It flints!
