00:00On Tuesday, Sarah Palin took to Facebook to reveal her disgust at being unknowingly
00:10interviewed by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen for his upcoming Showtime series,
00:13Who is America? The former Republican vice presidential candidate said she sat down
00:18for an interview with Cohen thinking he was a wounded U.S. veteran. Palin wrote,
00:30Palin went on to say that she and one of her daughters traveled across the country to meet
00:49with Cohen, who, she says, had heavily disguised himself as a disabled U.S. veteran,
00:53fake wheelchair and all. The former governor of Alaska further elaborated on what happened
00:58during the mock interview, writing,
01:00"...out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone
01:04who had served in uniform, I sat through a long interview full of Hollywoodisms,
01:08disrespect and sarcasm, but finally had enough and literally physically removed my mic
01:14and walked out, much to Cohen's chagrin. The disrespect of our U.S. military and middle-class
01:18Americans via Cohen's foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse."
01:24Palin then offered a challenge to Cohen, CBS and Showtime.
01:28"...donate all proceeds to a charitable group that actually respects and supports American vets.
01:32Mock politicians and innocent public personalities all you want if that lets you sleep at night,
01:36but how dare you mock those who have fought and served our country," she wrote, adding,
01:41"...truly sick."
01:43Palin further claimed that the Cohen's CBS Showtime production team purposefully dropped my daughter
01:48and me off at the wrong Washington, D.C. airport after the fake interview knowing we'd miss
01:53all flights back home to Alaska. Showtime had no comment when contacted by The Hollywood Reporter.
01:58Palin's post comes just days after the July 15th premiere date for Who is America, described by
02:02Showtime as, "...the most dangerous show in the history of television was announced."
02:06Said Showtime Network's president and CEO David Nevins of The Comedian,
02:10"...Sasha is a comedic genius who shocks you with his audacity, bravery and inventiveness.
02:15He is the premier provocateur of our time, but not for the sake of gotcha moments.
02:20Behind the elaborate setup is a genuine quest for the truth about people, places and politics."
02:25Cohen has also suggested that Who is America could target President Donald Trump and his
02:30now-closed Trump University. In a Twitter video shared on July 4th, Trump throws verbal jabs at
02:35Cohen from what appears to be the White House. After the words,
02:37Sasha graduate soon appear on screen, the video ends with the Trump University logo.
02:42Who is America? premieres Sunday at 10 p.m. Eastern on Showtime.
