Demi Lovato will star in a comedy project in the works at NBC.

00:00Demi Lovato is headed back to TV.

00:04The actress and singer is said to star in a comedy project in the works at NBC called

00:08Hungry.

00:09The single-camera comedy project has put a pilot commitment from the network, meaning

00:13NBC will pay a penalty if it doesn't air.

00:15Hungry will follow a group of friends who belong to a food issues group and help each

00:19other as they look for love, success and that one thing in the refrigerator that will make

00:24it all better.

00:25Lovato, who has been open about her own struggles with an eating disorder, is also on tap for

00:29the project as an executive producer.

00:31Hungry would be the first regular TV role for Lovato since she starred in Disney Channel's

00:35Sunny with a Chance from 2009 through 2011.

00:39She reoccurred on Will & Grace's final season last year as well.

00:42Up next, Lovato will also be the subject of a YouTube docu-series about her life that's

00:46set to open up in the 2021 South by Southwest Festival.
