'Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!' is finally ready for launch at Disney California Adventure. The Hollywood Reporter’s Ryan Parker was there for the attraction’s media preview.

00:00Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout is finally ready for launch at Disney California Adventure.

00:05And while the fans of the classic Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride may be skeptical

00:09of the new Marvel-inspired version, The Hollywood Reporter's Ryan Parker was there for the

00:13attraction's media preview, brought back some pics and video and can confirm it is seriously epic.

00:18Without giving too much away, because as Parker says, it's totally worth seeing firsthand.

00:23Here's a breakdown of what you can expect from the new ride. First, what used to be the lobby

00:27of the haunted hotel has been totally transformed into Benicio Del Toro's character,

00:32The Collector's massive display room in his fortress. According to Parker,

00:36"...as soon as I saw a life-sized Cosmo wagging his tail in the glass case, I knew this was going to be special."

00:42The setup for the ride begins in what used to be the room where guests were told they were entering

00:46the Twilight Zone's fifth dimension. It is now The Collector's office and it is chock full of items

00:51from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While in the office, a shockingly realistic animatronic rocket

00:56breaks in and explains his Guardian pals have been captured by The Collector and he is there

01:00to sabotage things, of course. And he needs your help because the scanners won't work on his paws.

01:05After a few more twists and turns, you arrive at the main feature where there are six escape scenarios.

01:10According to Parker, the ride is a galactic blast. The drops are just as terrifying as they were on Tower,

01:16but Guardians also features quick ascents. The initial one is like being shot out of a cannon.

01:21Overall, Parker said the ride is exhilarating and left me wanting to get right back in line to go again.
