The studio is working on plans to usher out Affleck’s Batman gracefully, a source says, addressing the change in some shape or form in one of the upcoming DC films.
Transcript
00:00Ben Affleck is headed to Comic-Con this weekend to promote Warner Bros.' upcoming Justice
00:04League movie, set for a November 17 release.
00:08But how many more times is he likely to put on the Batsuit?
00:10Probably not many, if ever again.
00:13Matt Reeves, who will direct the studio's still undated and unwritten The Batman, has
00:17said that he means to keep Affleck in the role, but a source with knowledge of the situation
00:22says that the studio is working on plans to usher out Affleck's Batman.
00:26He has already stepped away from directing the film, and Reeves is dropping the script
00:29that Affleck wrote with DC Entertainment's Joff Johns.
00:32In addition, Affleck will turn 45 in August, so he would be pushing 50 before the Batman
00:37arrives in theaters.
00:39Warners could hypothetically create dual Batman, keeping Affleck in the role for a plangistically
00:44follow-up while letting Reeves cast his movie with a different star.
00:47But that hardly seems likely.
00:49I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
