00:00What in the foxicle is this?
00:06CinemaCon is still going strong in Las Vegas and Thursday's 20th Century Fox
00:10presentation got a little R-rated thanks to Deadpool.
00:13The studio kicked off its presentation with a chorus line of dancers followed by
00:17Deadpool 2 star Ryan Reynolds appearing in character in a video message
00:21to apologize for not being there.
00:23The video included Fox distribution chief Chris Aronson emerging from under some covers
00:28and wearing an outfit from a stunt he performed for The Greatest Showman at last year's CinemaCon.
00:32Greatest Showman and Logan star Hugh Jackman also appeared in the video.
00:36When Reynolds told the marketing chief he was late for his CinemaCon speech, Aronson said,
00:40I'm totally fucked. To which Reynolds remarked,
00:43Looks like Comcast really dodged a bullet. A reference to Comcast previously flirting with an acquisition of Fox.
00:49The video ended with a tiny nod to Disney's pending acquisition of Fox.
00:53Mickey Mouse's dog Pluto could be seen in the background, which got a big laugh from the
00:58CinemaCon crowd.
00:58Mmm.
00:59I'm all out of love. I'm so lost without you. I know you were right.
01:05Stop the fucking car!
01:06But Deadpool wasn't the only icon to make an appearance. Freddie Mercury stepped out on stage,
01:12aka actor Rami Malek, who portrays the late Queen frontman in Fox's Bohemian Rhapsody.
01:17The star spoke about the pressures of playing the iconic artist and introduced the first trailer for the film.
01:22The trailer, which has not yet been released online, opens with Queen's classic song,
01:26Bohemian Rhapsody, playing in the background, as a young Mercury asks to be the lead singer of a band.
01:31One of his future bandmates retorts, not with those teeth, mate. The rest of the trailer is made up of vignettes
01:37of Mercury and Queen discovering their sound, finding fame on stage, and the singer being questioned
01:42about his personal life. The trailer ends with Mercury stepping out on stage at the iconic 1985 Live Aid concert,
01:49back to a track of We Are the Champions. Malek said during the presentation,
01:53When I got this role, I thought, oh my god, this could be a career-defining performance.
01:57And then two minutes later, I thought, this could be a career killer.
02:00Queen guitarist Brian May has seen the movie and emailed Malek to say the film brought him to tears,
02:06and that if Mercury was alive, he would be proud of it.
02:08Bohemian Rhapsody opens November 2nd.
02:11And as speculation swirls about the impact of Disney's pending $52.4 billion acquisition of Fox assets,
02:17Stacey Snyder led the presentation in what felt like her final turn at CinemaCon as chairman of 20th Century Fox film.
02:24Snyder shared hosting duties with Aronson. Snyder told the crowd,
02:27The Fox session wrapped with a marching band walking down the aisles of the Coliseum Theatre at Caesars Palace
02:47while playing the 20th Century Fox theme song.
