07:05People call it the River of Kings, so it's only fitting that Khan and I are cruising out

07:14This is absolutely beautiful.
07:16I have been to Bangkok so many times and I've never seen it from this angle.
07:19Where in Bangkok, right, it's busy, it's chaotic, it's hustle, it's bustle, but it still feels
07:24so calm and relaxing out here.

07:27And I've loved going past the temples and the old colonial buildings and really the ultra
07:33luxury of the high-rises and we're seeing it all from this incredible perspective.

10:33When I get to a new city, what I love doing is exploring the local cuisine, and the best
10:37way to do that is on the street, is to get out there, just try and eat what the locals
10:42eat.
10:43The food market is where the locals come to eat their lunches.
10:46Okay, so I'm taking you to one of the oldest food markets in Bangkok.

10:50We are in the old part of Bangkok right now.
10:52This is where a lot of the locals go for their lunches.
10:56The food does sell out, though, so we're going to have to hurry.
10:58When your guide is calm, and you're talking about food, there really is kind of no natural
11:04order of things.
11:05It's just, wow, look at this.

11:08You know, and you just, all I need to do is kind of follow him around.
11:11What I've always wanted to try is the famous mango sticky rice.

11:46When I imagined coming to visit Bangkok, this is exactly what I wanted to experience.
11:53I wanted to be able to get a sense of place and time and history and seeing it with Khan.

12:01I feel like food is such a quintessential part of travel.
12:04If you're anywhere in the world, the best way to get to know the local area, the culture
12:09or the people is to eat what they eat.
12:12Try the local cuisine.
12:13After a day exploring, it's time to dial up the luxury a little bit more.
12:17And Bangkok has some of the world's best rooftop bars.
12:22Khan has booked us a table at Bangkok's premier cocktail bar.

13:22What I love about this part of Thailand is that it's kind of a little bit of an escape.

21:30I'm so keen to be doing this.
21:32I do need to just sit back, relax and let someone else do the work.
21:36I would like to do this every day of my life.
21:39Sadly, it's not possible.
21:42But here at the Surin, I'm soaking up every moment.
21:46The moments that I do love about a Luxury Escape is,
21:48yes, we can go out and be adventurous together
21:50and do all these activities together.
21:52But there are moments like this where we're getting treatment,
21:55everything is calm, we're just relaxing.
21:58We're really just shutting off for the afternoon.
