00:00In this town, I can all change like that.
00:06Hey! You're Rick fucking Dalton. Don't you forget it.
00:11It seems like almost everyone has been raving about Quentin Tarantino's latest film,
00:15Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, since it unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival.
00:19But Polish director Roman Polanski's wife, however, is not at all pleased about her
00:23husband's depiction in the project. Actress and model Emanuela Seigner said that she
00:27was angered that Tarantino included aspects of her husband's life, such as his marriage
00:32to the late Sharon Tate, without consulting him. In the film, which is set to be released
00:36on July 26th, the Margot Robbie plays Tate, who was eight months pregnant with Polanski's
00:40child when the actress was brutally murdered in her Hollywood Hills home by members of
00:44the Manson family in 1969. Polish actor Rafal Zawaruka plays Polanski and was briefly
00:50seen in the film's trailer. In a social media post written in French and translated by
00:54The Hollywood Reporter, Seigner wrote,
00:57The pariah line was most likely in reference to Polanski being ostracized in Hollywood
01:12due to his 1977 statutory rape conviction, which was reignited in the media during the
01:17Me Too movement. As a result, the Rosemary's baby director was booted from the Academy of
01:22Motion Picture Arts and Sciences last year. However, in April, Polanski had sued to get
01:26back into the Academy. To see Seigner's full translated statement, head over to THR.com.
01:32And until next time, for The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Neha Joy.
