00:01Robby.
00:02Good morning, guys.
00:03Robby.
00:04What's up?
00:05I needed a few extra winks this morning.
00:07Gotta get your sleep.
00:08It's the most important thing.
00:09Yeah.
00:10Well, how are you guys feeling after last night's elimination?
00:13Not safe.
00:14I was kind of at the top of the pack for the first few challenges.
00:18It can turn on its head real quick.
00:20You do take bold choices.
00:21You've done that from the very beginning.
00:23Being able to think outside of the box and try something bold.
00:26Yeah.
00:27That's never my first choice.
00:29So it's really cool to see you doing that.
00:31Thanks.
00:32And I'm inspired by it.
00:34I went from winning pretty much everything so far to almost on the chopping block.
00:39To be that low, it's nerve-wracking.
00:43You just truly never know.
00:45Hey!
00:47What's up?
00:48Fellas.
00:49Gang's all here, huh?
00:50The Elite Eight, gentlemen.
00:51Oh, yeah, this is it.
00:52Oh, wow.
00:53It's getting real.
00:54Being here with you guys is a big win.
00:55It's cool to have you guys here and kind of feel like you're on my team.
00:58Same.
00:59Same here, man.
01:00I've been searching for so long for people that I resonate with and that I can connect
01:03with, and I've become so close with the guys that are here.
01:07I'm really glad that I've made these lifelong friends.
01:12Look at this brotherhood.
01:13Look at this group of awesome, talented gentlemen.
01:16It's like, look around at these faces.
01:18One of us is going to win.
01:19Look to your left.
01:20Right here.
01:21That's true.
01:22Look to your left.
01:24Yeah.
01:25On the flip side, we're all going to lose except for one.
01:28Yeah.
01:29But we got another challenge.
01:30I'm excited for the festive face-off.
01:32You're just, you're excited for the festive face-off because you won the last one.
01:35It's like, let's do this.
01:36Oh!
01:37I've given it my all and all of the challenges and I haven't won a festive face-off yet.
01:47The bonus that you get from those is amazing.
01:49So I'm just going to try to get in there and finally win one of these festive face-offs.
01:53What?
01:54Hey, guys.
01:55Welcome back to the workshop.
01:56Eight of you are standing strong in the competition, but only one of you will walk out of here with
02:01a leading role in a Hallmark holiday movie and be crowned Mr. Christmas.
02:06All right.
02:08One of the best parts about Christmas are the baked goods.
02:11Every season, you can count on sweet shortbread, my favorite, the festive fruitcake,
02:18and the holiday headliner, the gingerbread house.
02:22Yeah!
02:23In this festive face-off, each of you will be given a cookie foundation to build your magical
02:28manner.
02:29Don't get me wrong.
02:30I love my cookies, but building a gingerbread house, there's a lot of fine little details
02:35in there.
02:36When your gingerbread house is done, you will have to put it on the table to make a gingerbread
02:40village.
02:41Woo!
02:42Okay.
02:43I actually have some experience building gingerbread houses, so watch out, guys.
02:47I'm coming for y'all.
02:48We want you to create a house that reflects you and your holiday spirit.
02:53Let's find out something new about you by looking at your gingerbread house.
02:57You will not only be judged by the quality of your craft, but also the story behind your
03:02house.
03:03The holiday homestead that stands out the most wins and gets an advantage going into the
03:08star quality challenge.
03:10All right, boys.
03:11Are you ready to build some sweet memories?
03:16Yeah!
03:17Let's do it.
03:18You have 35 minutes to complete your frosty fortress.
03:23Ready, set, build!
03:25Oh, shoot.
03:26I got this here.
03:27Sorry.
03:28No, it's okay.
03:29Ooh!
03:30All right, here we go.
03:31Oh, my gosh.
03:32Have you ever built gingerbread houses, man?
03:34Not since elementary school, actually.
03:37We have to go with the red licorice first.
03:39My mom used to get this when we would go on, like, trips, especially when we go to see
03:43family for, like, Christmas time.
03:45Christmas time, so what are you doing?
03:47Why'd you go with the red licorice?
03:49I'm making a red schoolhouse.
03:50Oh!
03:51Christmas for me is all about your loved ones and your chosen family.
03:55I had a drama mentor when I was in high school, and I want to make this as an homage to him.
04:00You know, the teachers, like, have, like, such a huge part on your life.
04:03Yeah, no, that's a great idea.
04:05So for this challenge, the first thing I think of is my girlfriend.
04:08She absolutely loves gingerbread houses.
04:10She'll buy them.
04:11She'll build them.
04:12She's bringing the house to life, you know?
04:14Christmas tree in the front, me and my girlfriend in the front.
04:17I want to go with something that feels like the house that I grew up in.
04:22I knew right off the bat my gingerbread house had to be a white Christmas.
04:25Seeing these lights here makes me think of putting up Christmas lights.
04:28It was mostly my dad, actually, growing up, but when we got old enough, that was our holiday chore,
04:33putting up Christmas lights with my brothers.
04:35Now, being a dad, last year was the first year I put Christmas lights up on my own house,
04:39and I can't wait to continue that tradition with my own son.
04:42Are you going to teach Soto about Santa?
04:45For sure.
04:46How long are you going to take it?
04:47Until he's in high school.
04:49Everyone here is different, has a different background, and has a different story.
04:55I wanted to add a lot of color to my gingerbread house.
04:58When I was young, cereal was one thing I always ate.
05:01I'm putting cereals in the roof, little by little, but it's taking a long time.
05:07The thing is, would I be able to finish the roof?
05:10Oh, okay, you're bringing out the popcorn.
05:12Oh, man.
05:13See what you can do with that.
05:14This is so long.
05:15Why is this so long?
05:16Well, we have scissors, Craig.
05:17What is that?
05:18That's insane.
05:19Think 1990s.
05:20Think...
05:21Boombox?
05:22Little boombox.
05:23Okay, okay, okay.
05:24Boombox.
05:25I like that.
05:26Five minutes left.
05:27Whoa!
05:28How's it going, Angel?
05:29Bruh.
05:30Remember, you have to have your house on this table to create a village when the time is up.
05:37I'm feeling some pressure, I'm not gonna lie here, guys.
05:39Yes, yeah.
05:40All right, I'm gonna go ahead and move my gingerbread house to the village.
05:43All right, we got one house coming over to the village.
05:46I spent so much time on these lights, I hope it pays off.
05:50One minute left.
05:52All of the houses have to create the village or it doesn't count.
05:55Why isn't this moving?
05:56I'm on the move.
05:57Rustin, behind you.
05:58All right, copy.
05:59We got Davey on the move.
06:00At this point, I have to get this house finished and get it on the table.
06:03All right, this is the final push.
06:05Gabe has moved.
06:07We got Robbie's moving.
06:08Whatever side you want to face front, face front.
06:10Looking at the other gingerbread houses, I feel like I didn't do enough.
06:14Everybody else's house is so elaborate.
06:16Wherever you want to go.
06:18Looks like we're losing candy left and right.
06:20Five, four, three, two, one.
06:25Put down the frosting, your time's up.
06:28That was insane.
06:29That was insane.
06:30These look awesome.
06:32Before we start checking if your gingerbread houses are up to code, I need to bring out a special guest judge for this one.
06:39She's the executive editor at People and an expert in all things Hallmark, Brianne Heldman.
06:45Hi, guys.
06:48So good to see you.
06:51Hi.
06:52Welcome, Brianne.
06:53It is so good to be here.
06:54You bring me into rooms with all of the best looking men.
06:57You know, it's a tough day at work.
06:58This is a really hard day at work.
06:59So, today we're looking for the guy that built their gingerbread house with love, a personal story, and Christmas spirit.
07:06So, Frank Lloyd, Mr. Right Now.
07:08Yeah.
07:09Oh, okay.
07:12Davey, tell us about your gingerbread house.
07:14We put lights on the house every year, and there are gingerbread people around my house representing my mom, my dad, my two brothers and I.
07:21You made the gingerbread house a home.
07:23I did.
07:24Great job.
07:26Thanks.
07:27Angel.
07:28The snow reminds me when I moved to the United States.
07:30I've never seen snow in my life.
07:32The cereal on the side of the roof just reminds me when my mom had multiple jobs.
07:39She's a single mother.
07:40She worked really hard to make sure my sister and I have a roof over our heads and presents for Christmas.
07:48So, she left me at home by myself and I just ate a bunch of cereal.
07:53When I was running out of time, towards the end, I don't know if you can see, it looks different from the beginning.
07:58Oh, we saw.
07:59We saw you throwing the snow on there.
08:02Angel, great job.
08:04Robbie.
08:05So, I wanted to make this schoolhouse.
08:07In front, there are two gingerbread men, and that is me and my drama mentor.
08:12I think that we're such a product of our teachers.
08:15They shape who we are today, and so I really wanted to celebrate him.
08:19He taught me so much about the craft of acting.
08:22He also had a husband, and so it was the first role model that I met that had a beautiful life
08:28and just really shaped the life that I wanted as a gay man moving forward, and I'm really grateful for him.
08:33Robbie, well done.
08:35Rustin, there is so much going on in this gingerbread house.
08:38Half of a roof is gone.
08:40What village is complete without a theater?
08:43So, if you look at the very back, there's a stage built in there.
08:46Oh my God, there it is.
08:47And rows of audience members that are watching.
08:49My whole family was in a Christian worship band, and I had the worst stage fright.
08:54And so, my dad, he built a stage in our house so that we could practice what it was like to perform for an audience,
09:00so that we could gain more confidence.
09:02My dad asked me if I wanted him to build a tree house, and I was like, no, can you build a stage in the basement?
09:08Which is what he did.
09:10And when parents understand that they have a child that performs and they just embrace it,
09:15it helps those kids shine so much, and I can see it in you.
09:21Logan, tell us a bit about your gingerbread house.
09:24The fireplace when I was a kid, being by a warm fireside opening presents.
09:29I don't know, I could just picture it every time I think about Christmas.
09:33Love it.
09:34That is so sweet.
09:35And I do love the ice cream cone as the chimney.
09:37That's really clever.
09:40Gabriel.
09:41So, my house is a mix between a lot of memories from childhood.
09:43The seashells on the roof.
09:45We used to go to Newport every Christmas, and it was a really good part of my childhood.
09:50My girlfriend, Andrea, she just had our first child.
09:54Jory.
09:55I just remember Christmases being the best time ever, and I want that for my daughter.
10:00So sweet.
10:01Craig, what is happening here, Craig?
10:05I want the story.
10:06I need to know.
10:07Kick it.
10:08Now, I'm not a rapper per se.
10:10I just have the ability to rap.
10:12It's a 1990s gingerbread house.
10:14Ten guys, Jonathan and Brienne in a blouse.
10:17You already know I'm here for the win.
10:19Let's go three for three and do this again.
10:22Nice.
10:23Okay.
10:24You got dinner and a show, Brienne.
10:26Wow.
10:27I'm so flattered.
10:29I mean, house and blouse.
10:30Thank God you wore a blouse.
10:32This is a 1990s gingerbread house.
10:35I was born in 91, and for me, Christmas is all about being a kid.
10:39You'll notice a cartoon taking place.
10:41What is this?
10:42Hand that to Brienne, if you don't mind.
10:43Hand that to Brienne, okay.
10:44And Jonathan, take the other one.
10:45Okay.
10:46So this was my favorite game in the 90s.
10:48Jonathan.
10:49And Brienne.
10:50Brienne, are you home?
10:51Over.
10:52I am home.
10:53Over.
10:54What are you making for Christmas dinner?
10:56I don't cook.
10:58Really great presentation.
10:59This was so creative.
11:02Marcus.
11:03My girlfriend loves gingerbread houses.
11:04So right there at the front, we have me and my girlfriend at the house breeding everybody
11:09with our Christmas tree.
11:10We have a horse symbolizing like a stable.
11:12My girlfriend loves animals.
11:13That's for her.
11:14And on the other side, we have stuff for my girlfriend's lake house, which is actually
11:18the first time I told my girlfriend that I loved her.
11:20Your girlfriend rides horses.
11:21She loves horses.
11:22Yes.
11:23Do you love horses?
11:24You know, I've actually never ridden a horse.
11:26But then you have a horse on your display to show your girlfriend.
11:30And then you have the lake house part of it from your girlfriend's lake house.
11:33Yeah.
11:34I want to know Marcus.
11:35Yeah.
11:36We got some crafters in this group.
11:37Yeah.
11:38Well done, boys.
11:39Really impressive.
11:40Thank you so much for opening up and sharing your personal stories with us.
11:43I was surprised the level of detail and craftsmanship some of the other guys were able to implement
11:48into their gingerbread house.
11:49But overall, I think my presentation went well.
11:52The winner of this festive face-off, who's at the top of the nice list, is...
12:01Robby, congratulations.
12:05Awesome.
12:07Robby, that's two festive face-offs in a row.
12:09It feels so good.
12:10We all are here because of the people that shaped us.
12:12And to get to do something that honors them, it just, like, means the world.
12:16I'm so thrilled.
12:17Robby, you're going to receive an advantage in the star quality challenge.
12:20Yes.
12:21Yes.
12:22It'll be revealed later.
12:23Aw.
12:24Now go hang out in the holiday house where the doors actually work.
12:28Get out of here, you crazy kids.
12:29Good job.
12:30So nice to meet you.
12:31Yeah.
12:32Coming up, welcome, Ally Sweeney.
12:36I guess I'm learning to ride a horse today.
12:39Whoa.
12:40And just swing on up.
12:42Ah.
12:43We missed a lot of the lines.
12:44Robby with the streak.
12:45That was an impressive house, man.
12:46Yeah, it really was.
12:47Yeah.
12:48Yeah.
12:49It looked like you had days to do it.
12:50It was so good.
12:51Yeah.
12:52You ever consider going into, like, contracting or home building?
12:53Um, absolutely not.
12:54Because that house is going to fall down with one little push.
12:55Or bite.
12:56Or bite.
12:57Or bite.
12:58Yeah.
12:59I like how a lot of these challenges are kind of shedding light on a lot of our personalities,
13:00where we come from, how we were raised.
13:01Angel, it was really nice hearing about your mom and all the stories you told about her.
13:04Just having that cereal represented joy.
13:05I understand that, yeah, yeah, because I had a single mom as well.
13:08She was a nurse, so I definitely understand that.
13:09My mom means everything to me.
13:10I mean, she raised me.
13:11She raised me.
13:12She took care of me.
13:13About a month and a half ago, I was a nurse.
13:14Yeah.
13:15Yeah.
13:16Yeah.
13:17Yeah.
13:18Yeah.
13:19Yeah.
13:20Yeah.
13:21Yeah.
13:22Yeah.
13:23Yeah.
13:24Yeah.
13:25Yeah.
13:26Yeah.
13:27Yeah.
13:28Yeah.
13:29Yeah.
13:30Yeah.
13:31So my mom found out that she does have cancer in her lungs.
13:34It's hard to talk about, but she was very supportive of me.
13:37Like, go do it.
13:38I definitely want to make my mom as proud as possible.
13:41You're such a great guy, Marcus.
13:43Every day is so topsy-turvy and they're all so different.
13:46And it's anybody's game.
13:48I haven't won anything.
13:50I've been on like second, third gear.
13:52I haven't bring fourth, fifth and sixth.
13:55So I feel like maybe it's time to be on the highway and just go fast as you can.
14:00Hit the nose.
14:01Hit the nose.
14:02Hit the nose.
14:06Come on in, boys!
14:07Come on, cowboys!
14:08Come on, cowboys!
14:09Yeah!
14:10O-M-G.
14:13What are we about to do?
14:15This is exciting.
14:16I love westerns.
14:17Howdy, boys!
14:18This is a cowboy Christmas.
14:21Woo-hoo!
14:22Yeah!
14:23Nice.
14:24Hallmark Christmas movies are known for blending charm, romance, and holiday magic.
14:31And this star quality challenge will be no different.
14:34In this scene, you'll be working with two co-stars.
14:37The first one is a Hallmark megastar.
14:39And she just marked her 30th film with Hallmark.
14:43Please welcome Allie Sweeney.
14:48Allie Sweeney is incredible.
14:50I am so, so, so excited.
14:53Howdy.
14:54Hello.
14:55Hi.
14:56Hello.
14:57And this is your other co-star, Belle the Horse.
15:00Hello, Belle.
15:02In this challenge, you're going to have to maneuver your horse as you create chemistry with your leading lady.
15:08Wow.
15:09I guess I'm learning to ride a horse today.
15:11Horses like small children might throw a curveball at you, and you have to play that in the scene.
15:16Don't let it throw you.
15:17I have zero experience on a horse.
15:20My mom and my grandma were both bucked off a horse, which doesn't necessarily give me a lot of confidence.
15:25Here's what we're going to be looking for.
15:27Your connection with your leading lady, your ability to work with animals, and as always, star quality.
15:33But before we saddle up, Robbie, because you were at the top of the nice list in the festive face-off, you will get an extra five minutes with your horse and Allie.
15:43Okay, I'll take it.
15:46Thank you very much.
15:48All right, partners.
15:49Here are your scripts.
15:51Go inside.
15:52Get changed.
15:53You'll be able to meet your horse co-star before we roll.
15:56Woo!
15:57Let's go.
15:58Hey, give us a shot.
15:59Hey, Logan.
16:00I got it.
16:01I'm going to see if I still got it.
16:02Don't lasso him.
16:03Go get him, Melissa.
16:04Go get him.
16:05Run, run, run!
16:06You want to know the catch?
16:07You want to know the catch?
16:08The scene is about the first date.
16:11So there's some flirtatiousness, and that's easy for me.
16:16I'm also a bartender.
16:18So part of being a bartender, you flirt, get some extra tips here and there.
16:23So it's going to be fun.
16:25I am unbelievably excited.
16:26I love horses.
16:27I've ridden horses and ponies, and I'm really excited to bring that experience to the scene.
16:38Oh, with that, with that.
16:40So I can do horseback riding.
16:42I'm very proud of that.
16:44It's hard not to be a little bit scared.
16:51Right here.
16:52I take a deep breath, try to calm my nerves, do whatever I can to slow my heart rate down,
16:57because I know that being nervous is only going to hold me back.
17:01Oh, nice.
17:03Hey.
17:04Okay, good.
17:05Hey, Robbie.
17:06So nice to meet you.
17:07How do you feel about this?
17:09Good.
17:10I've ridden horses, but not in a long time.
17:11Okay, okay, yeah, sure.
17:12So I think it, hopefully it is like riding a bike.
17:14Yeah.
17:15So I'm ready for my advantage.
17:16That time is huge.
17:18I think if I say, let's see what else you got, and I can kind of gesture for you to go.
17:23Okay, sure.
17:24Let's see what else you got, because then you can kind of go off first.
17:26Yeah.
17:27Whatever you feel, you know, your character would like lead the way or not, or, you know,
17:32we, I think we're going to have to discover it.
17:34Yeah.
17:35And giving that audience the inside glimpse as to like what you're thinking without me looking
17:39at you is a huge, important moment on screen.
17:42I love that.
17:43Thank you for that.
17:44Everybody set.
17:45There's no room for like, not doing well at this point.
17:49Settle.
17:50This could be a way to stretch myself and also show the judges a different side of me.
17:55Three, two, one, action.
17:57Wow.
17:58A Christmas horseback ride.
18:00What a great idea.
18:01Thanks for the invite.
18:02I mean, I'm a little nervous.
18:04It's been a long time since I've ridden.
18:06I thought we'd do a little refresh around the training ring before we go out on the
18:09walk.
18:10Sound good?
18:11Yeah.
18:12Perfect.
18:13Now, we always mount from the left and you want to grab the reins, throw them over the
18:15horse's head, like that.
18:18You put your foot in the stirrup and just swing on up.
18:23Ah.
18:24He looks relaxed.
18:25Put in the stirrup and swing.
18:28Look at that.
18:30You're an old pro.
18:31It's like riding a bike, I guess.
18:34This character that I'm playing, he needs to find out if she's as into me as I am into
18:39her.
18:40Wow.
18:41The horses listen to you so well.
18:42How long have you been riding?
18:43I started when I was a kid.
18:46My grandparents rode, so I guess you could say it's in my blood.
18:49We've got a real-life cowboy on our hands.
18:52So, cowboy, your grandparents taught you to ride.
18:55You must have a good relationship with your family.
18:57I guess that's right.
18:58Horses like you, so you have good energy.
19:01Can't argue with that.
19:03And you planned this whole date, so you must be a gentleman.
19:07It means I just have one question.
19:09What's the catch?
19:10You want to know what the catch is?
19:13When I see something I like, I don't rest until I get it.
19:19Well then, I hope you know how to keep up.
19:25And cut!
19:27He took his time, he leaned in, and he did what the script called for.
19:31Ride them cowboy!
19:32Woo!
19:33Let's go.
19:34How you doing?
19:35How was it?
19:36Y'all, that horse, she has a mind of her own.
19:40Wish me luck, brother.
19:41All right, I'll see you guys soon.
19:43It's a little nerve-wracking going into this challenge being somebody that's never ridden a horse before.
19:49I don't know how that horse is going to react.
19:51What if I get thrown off of the horse?
19:53I don't know how it can get any harder than this.
19:56And action!
19:58Wow, a Christmas horseback ride.
20:01It's a great idea.
20:02Thanks for the invite.
20:04And I'm just a little nervous.
20:06It's been a long time since I've ridden.
20:07No worries.
20:08I thought we'd do a little refresh around the training ring before we head out on a walk.
20:12Sound good?
20:13Yeah.
20:14Perfect.
20:15All right.
20:16Put your foot into the stirrup and swing on up.
20:21Look good?
20:22Okay, the one that has never ridden a horse before, flawless.
20:25Left side.
20:26Foot in the stirrup.
20:27Yep.
20:28And then, I just swing.
20:30Yee-haw!
20:31Look at you!
20:32Look at that movie star moment.
20:34This is what I'm talking about.
20:36Oh, the horses really like you.
20:38How long have you been riding?
20:39Here?
20:40Uh, just a couple of years, but I rode when I was a kid.
20:43Wow, we've got a real-life cowboy on our hands.
20:46Huh?
20:47So, your grandparents taught you to ride.
20:51You must be close with your family?
20:53That's right.
20:54And horses like you, so you must have good energy.
20:57What's the catch?
20:59So, you want to know what the catch is?
21:01I do.
21:02Once I see something I like?
21:04Oh.
21:05Oh, no.
21:06The horse is going in reverse.
21:08Come on.
21:09He needs to get that final line in.
21:12Coming up, go on a little refresh around the training yard.
21:17All right, let's see what else you got.
21:20It's got to slow down that heartbeat a little bit.
21:22Yeah.
21:23The horse is going in reverse.
21:26Let's see how Marcus handles it.
21:30Once I see something I like, I don't stop until I get it.
21:36Well then, you better learn how to go forward, buddy.
21:40And cut!
21:41How he handled it?
21:42Now that's a movie star.
21:43Clearly, the horse didn't get the script.
21:44But I think I'm in a good spot.
21:45When he leaned in and was like, hey, I'm here to be your date.
21:47I'm like, put a saddle on me.
21:48I know.
21:49Sorry, Mom.
21:50I said it.
21:51Put your left foot in the stirrup.
21:52Grab the reins.
21:53I grew up in a town with a lot of horses.
21:54But I never actually got on a horse personally.
21:55It's hard not to be a little bit scared.
21:58My mom and my grandma both got bucked off and broke bones.
22:01Just got to slow down that heartbeat a little bit.
22:02Yeah.
22:03You got this.
22:04Once I'm in the moment, I feel like I'll be in.
22:05Yeah, totally.
22:06I'm in.
22:07I'm in.
22:08I'm in.
22:09I'm in.
22:10And was like, hey, I'm here to be your date.
22:11I'm like, put a saddle on me.
22:12I know.
22:13Sorry, Mom.
22:14I said it.
22:15Put your left foot in the stirrup.
22:16Grab the reins.
22:17I grew up in a town with a lot of horses,
22:19but I never actually got on a horse personally.
22:20Yeah.
22:21You got this.
22:22Once I'm in the moment, I feel like I'll be in.
22:23Yeah, totally.
22:24That's a big thing to overcome.
22:25I mean, we have to do that as actors, right?
22:27And action!
22:29I'm kind of nervous.
22:30It's been a long time since I've ridden.
22:32No worries.
22:33Let's do a little refresher around the practice track here.
22:36And before we head out on the walk, let you get the hang of it.
22:39Sound good?
22:40Perfect.
22:41All right.
22:42So, remember, we always want to mount on the left side.
22:46Okay.
22:47All right.
22:50I'm definitely having a hard time calming my nerves.
22:59Throw that left foot in the stirrup.
23:02And swing on up.
23:03Okay.
23:04There it is.
23:05Okay.
23:06And swing.
23:07You're a real pro.
23:08Let's see what else you got.
23:09I mean, come on, gosh.
23:11They listen to you so well.
23:12How long have you been riding?
23:13My grandparents rode, so I guess you could say it's in my blood.
23:17Oh, wow.
23:18Got a real cowboy on our hands.
23:20I'd watch this movie.
23:23Do you think they get together in the end?
23:25Yes.
23:26Yeah, they get together.
23:27So, cowboy, let me ask.
23:29What's that?
23:30What's the catch?
23:31You want to know the catch?
23:32Well, when I see something I like, I get it.
23:36Huh.
23:37But can you keep up?
23:46Yes!
23:47And cut!
23:48I'd like to think my grandma and my mom would be proud of the fact that I got up on that horse.
23:52And my acting wasn't too shabby either.
23:53Never ridden a horse.
23:54I never once worried about him on that horse.
23:56Just exuded confidence.
23:57The one thing Davey could have done better is find his camera a little better.
24:05I feel like I have a good grasp on my lines this time.
24:08I just have to show confidence.
24:10Just act like I'm actually a cowboy and that I've done this a million times on a first date.
24:16Action!
24:18Oh, a Christmas horseback ride is such a great idea.
24:22Thanks for the invite.
24:23I'm a little nervous.
24:24It's been a long time since I've ridden.
24:26Don't worry.
24:27I thought we'd do a little refresh on the training ground.
24:31Just grab the reins, put your foot in the stirrup, and swing on up.
24:39Okay.
24:40Well done.
24:41Not bad.
24:42Swing up.
24:43Look at that.
24:44All I want from Gabe in this last moment is I want him to...
24:47look at that camera and be a leading man.
24:49Yeah.
24:50Those horses really listen to you.
24:51How long have you been riding?
24:52Just a couple of years.
24:53But I started as a kid.
24:55Real life cowboy on their hands.
24:57Yep.
24:58This is a definitely better.
24:59Yes.
25:00All right, cowboy.
25:02What's the catch?
25:03You want to know the catch?
25:05Okay.
25:06Here we go.
25:07Come on.
25:08Once I see something I like, I don't rest until I get it.
25:13Ooh.
25:14Well, let's see if you can keep up.
25:16Okay.
25:17And cut.
25:18I was stressing a tiny bit.
25:19She's intimidating to me a little bit because she's so beautiful and such a good actress,
25:23you know?
25:24Yeah.
25:25Yeah.
25:26But...
25:27The horse.
25:28Yeah, the horse.
25:29I'm feeling a little bit nervous.
25:30I'm not going to lie.
25:31Allie is a little intimidating.
25:32I'm going to do the best that I can to connect, be grounded, be present with Allie.
25:43She's a pro.
25:44Action!
25:45I figured we'd just go on a little refresh around the training yard before we get started.
25:52Okay.
25:53Sound good?
25:54Yeah.
25:55All right.
25:56All right.
25:57Cool.
25:58So we always mount from the left side.
25:59Okay.
26:00Grab the reins.
26:01Get it over this guy.
26:07Come on, baby.
26:08Now here's where he has to get the horses.
26:11He's got to get it over her ear as well.
26:13Of course.
26:14Makes sense.
26:15This is like a tornado meeting a volcano.
26:19I'm not off to a great start, but it's not about how you start.
26:22It's about how you finish.
26:23Putting the stir up.
26:24Yeah.
26:25And just swing on up there.
26:27Right.
26:29Hey, baby.
26:30Swing up.
26:31Nice swing up.
26:32They look good together.
26:33They look really good together.
26:34They've really listened to you.
26:36How long have you been riding?
26:37Well, here just a few years, but started when I was a little kid.
26:41My grandparents rode, so it's kind of in my blood.
26:44Wow.
26:45Wow.
26:46We've got a real-life cowboy on our hands.
26:47Look how much of a movie star Craig looks like right there.
26:49He looks fantastic.
26:50That's right.
26:51Those eyes.
26:52Look at that.
26:53So, cowboy, that means I've got just one question for you.
26:58What's the catch?
27:01The catch?
27:03Once I see something I like, I don't stop until I get it.
27:10Wow.
27:11Well, then you better learn to catch up.
27:13Good girl.
27:18Cute.
27:19And cut!
27:20Very cute.
27:21Once he got up on the horse, it was great.
27:24I'll see you later, Jingle.
27:26Whoa.
27:28Never go behind a horse, man.
27:32I'm surprised you didn't do an accent.
27:34Not this time, no.
27:35I'm excited to prove that I am definitely Hallmark Lady Man material.
27:40I don't need to be playing it safe in this competition.
27:43So, I feel like the cowboy would kind of have an accent, like a slow-tone talk to him.
27:49Come on, Logan.
27:51Come on, Logan.
27:53Action!
27:54Wow.
27:55A Christmas horseback ride.
27:58What a great idea.
27:59Thanks for the invite.
28:00I mean, I'm a little nervous.
28:01It's been a long time since I've ridden.
28:03No worries.
28:04But, I thought we'd do a little refresher course to kind of get you refreshed and get back on it.
28:09Okay.
28:10It's back on it.
28:11Perfect.
28:18Come on.
28:25He's not saying anything.
28:27All right.
28:32Fill up the space.
28:33Fill it.
28:34Fill it.
28:35He missed a lot of the lines.
28:39Coming up, you became a Latino cowboy.
28:42Swing on over.
28:43Okay.
28:44I want that hat.
28:45You mind dropping that for me, hon?
28:46We have to say goodbye to someone who is absolutely incredible.
28:53Come here.
28:54It's okay.
28:55Come here.
28:58The horse started backing up, and I forgot half the line that I was going to be delivering, and it was so much like dead air.
29:04Fill that space.
29:09With something.
29:10With something.
29:11You don't have to add dialogue if that isn't comfortable, but fill it with something.
29:15Mm-hmm.
29:16All right.
29:17Yeah.
29:18So, you just want to grab your reins.
29:19Okay.
29:20Put your foot in a stirrup.
29:21Yep.
29:22Swing on up.
29:23Okay.
29:24A little shaky to start, but he pulled it back in, and he got it.
29:27So, how long have you been riding?
29:32Here?
29:33Just a couple years.
29:35But I started out when I was a kid.
29:38My grandparents rode, so.
29:40Your grandparents rode.
29:42So that must mean you're close with your family?
29:45That's right.
29:46And horses like you, so that must mean you have good energy.
29:50I guess I just have one question.
29:52Where's the catch?
29:57You want to know what the catch is?
30:00Well, when I see something I like, I don't rest until I get it.
30:05I hope you can keep up.
30:11And that's a cut!
30:13He missed some of the lines.
30:14He missed the lines, and you could see, I could see a moment where he got flustered.
30:17It felt awkward.
30:18Is this your time to shine?
30:21I have to make sure the animal can trust me and sense that I have good energy coming into the scene.
30:27And if I do that, I feel like I'm going to do great.
30:30Yee-haw!
30:31Cowboys!
30:32Let's go!
30:33You got this, Angel.
30:35Action!
30:36Thank you for joining me.
30:37Oh, yeah.
30:38I mean, a Christmas horseback ride?
30:40Thank you for the invite.
30:42I'm a little nervous, though.
30:43It's been a long time since I've ridden.
30:45Oh, no worries, my lady.
30:47You put the reins over the horse.
30:50Sure.
30:51Make sure you're gentle.
30:52How you doing?
30:53Talk to the horse.
30:55Make sure.
30:56Come here.
30:57Sometimes this will happen.
30:59Oh, oh, oh, oh, uncooperative co-star.
31:02It's okay, baby.
31:03It's okay.
31:04Oh.
31:05I got you.
31:06I got you.
31:07Oh, he's doing so good at filling the space with dialogue.
31:10He's so good.
31:11He literally wrote another scene into that just by keeping in it.
31:14Yeah, yeah.
31:15He's so good.
31:16And swing on up.
31:17Wow.
31:18It's a pissy.
31:19Okay.
31:20It's a pissy.
31:21All right.
31:22Let's see what else you got.
31:24We have a real life cowboy on our hands.
31:27Something is kind of in my blood.
31:30So I just have one question.
31:32What's the catch?
31:33You want to know what the catch is?
31:36When I see something I like, I don't stop until I get it.
31:42All right.
31:43And I hope you can keep up.
31:47I'm up for this.
31:48Let's go.
31:49Cut.
31:50And he stayed in it when his horse was uncooperative.
31:53And I mean, it was amazing.
31:54Oh.
31:55Yay.
31:56No.
31:57Come on.
31:58Uncanny.
31:59Oh, get out of here, man.
32:01Dude.
32:02That was fun.
32:03Yeah.
32:04Yeah.
32:05I became a Latino cowboy.
32:07Latino cowboy.
32:10Angels always winning over the ladies.
32:12But I was actually voted the biggest flirt at my high school.
32:16So this is going to be right up my alley.
32:19No pun intended.
32:21Action.
32:22Wow.
32:23A Christmas horseback ride.
32:24What a great idea.
32:25Thank you for the invite.
32:27I mean, I'm a little nervous because it's been a long time since I've ridden.
32:31Ah, no worries.
32:33I think we'll do a little refresher on the training ring before we go out on the walk.
32:37Sound good?
32:38Perfect.
32:39Ah, come here, girl.
32:41Yeah, you're a good girl.
32:42Come here, baby.
32:43You just put your foot in the stirrup.
32:46Swing on over.
32:47Okay.
32:48How about that hat?
32:49Mind dropping that for me, hon?
32:50I don't mind at all.
32:51Thank you so much.
32:52Here you go.
32:53So.
32:54Alright, it's your turn.
32:55Yeah, you made it look so easy.
32:57He's so natural up there.
32:58It's insane.
32:59Grounded.
33:00My foot in the stirrup.
33:01And I swing up.
33:03Let's see what else you can do.
33:05Your only job is to charm, charm, charm.
33:08And that's exactly what he's doing.
33:09Wow.
33:10The horses really listen to you.
33:11How long have you been riding?
33:12Here?
33:14Just a couple years.
33:17But I started as a kid.
33:18Got a real life cowboy on our hands.
33:22Alright, cowboy.
33:23I guess there's just one question.
33:25What's the catch?
33:27You want to know the catch?
33:29When I see something I like,
33:31I don't rest till I get it.
33:36Hope you can keep up.
33:43Cut!
33:44Is it hot in here or is it rustin'?
33:46It's freezing but I don't care.
33:47Is it hot in here or is it rustin'?
33:48Oh my gosh.
33:49Rustin is boiling our blood.
33:52I don't need these blankets.
33:53He is so good.
33:54I don't need these blankets.
33:55I don't need these blankets.
33:56You just had rustin.
33:57I just got rustin.
33:58Boom!
33:59You just got rustin.
34:00I'm really curious to hear what Ally says
34:01because she's got to be up close and personal
34:03and like be really connected to them.
34:05And I have my thoughts,
34:06but I want to know who really got to her.
34:09Yeah.
34:10This is going to be a tough decision.
34:12I hope you all had half as much fun as I did.
34:15Oh man.
34:16It just feels like such an even playing field
34:18that it could be anyone at any moment.
34:20Top, bottom, middle, like...
34:24We'll see, man.
34:25Wow, we put our hunks through the test today.
34:27So many things going on in that scene.
34:29Let's first talk about the guys we thought did well.
34:31Let's talk about Marcus.
34:33Marcus had never been on a horse before.
34:35Wow, that was impressive.
34:36He never once looked like he was thinking about the horse.
34:38No.
34:39When he swung right up there,
34:40I thought he had so much swagger and confidence.
34:42There was not a single second
34:43that I felt like he was out of character.
34:45Do you ever have that thing in scenes with other actors
34:47where you're like nervous for them?
34:48You're a little worried like,
34:49Oh, are they going to forget their line?
34:50Oh, are they worried about this blocking?
34:52With him, not for a second was I nervous.
34:54He felt like you were in good hands the whole time.
34:56Oh, yes, exactly.
34:57Then we had Angel.
34:58He came into it with intention.
35:00He came into it with an idea.
35:01He wanted to make it his own.
35:03It's your PC.
35:04Okay.
35:05I loved how he did it.
35:06I loved how he looked at me in the scene.
35:08I loved everything about it.
35:09Then we have Rustin, our resident cowboy.
35:12He understands the assignment.
35:13He does.
35:14So great with the horse.
35:15He handled everything really confidently.
35:17He has a confidence that cannot be broken.
35:19The only thing that was a little tricky was his hat came off.
35:23And he asked you to get it, right?
35:24And he, yeah.
35:25But I felt sort of like he sort of stepped on me by saying like,
35:28Hey, will you get that for me?
35:29And you're like, I'm already getting it.
35:30And I'm sort of like, dude, I already got it.
35:32I'm nervous.
35:33I'm not going to lie.
35:34It was the challenge for sure.
35:36Because the horses are kind of unpredictable.
35:38Now let's talk about who struggled.
35:40Now Craig is, you know, our very confident hunk.
35:43I felt a little nerves from Craig.
35:44Yeah.
35:45When the horse, you know, didn't cooperate, as we warned him,
35:47he definitely allowed it to sort of fluster him a tiny bit.
35:51I forgot what the line was.
35:53Then I internally panicked.
35:55And I was like, oh no, oh no.
35:57And then we had Logan.
35:58It felt a little bit like he was nervous about the cameras.
36:01Just didn't have that comfort with how to hit your mark.
36:04Didn't feel intentional.
36:05That's right.
36:06So then let's talk about Gabriel.
36:07There's something with Gabriel where I want him to lock in
36:10because when those glimpses happen, they're great.
36:13But there's so many cracks between the glimpses of greatness.
36:16He's thinking about the next line.
36:17And that comes with experience.
36:19We have a huge decision to make.
36:21We have eight hunks that really turned themselves into Christmas cowboys.
36:24They did.
36:25And they did such a great job.
36:26But unfortunately, someone's got to go home.
36:28Ugh.
36:32Walking into elimination, I'm feeling stressed.
36:35I'm doing the best I can.
36:36I just don't know if that's going to be enough.
36:39Although I didn't start that scene off on the right foot,
36:42I do think I recovered well.
36:44I know that this is just the beginning.
36:46And I'm hoping that I'm not going home.
36:49Hello, gentlemen.
36:50Welcome back to the moment where your chance to be Mr. Christmas
36:53hangs in the balance.
36:55Tonight, one of you will be named this week's shining star.
36:59And one of you will be headed home for the holidays.
37:04In this star quality challenge, we asked you to step out of your comfort zone
37:08and step onto a horse while having a romantic scene with your co-star, Ally Sweeney.
37:15Ally, you got to act with the guys.
37:17How do you think they did?
37:18The key in all of this is if you are natural and comfortable with what you're doing,
37:22the audience feels that.
37:24And they love it and they want to feel comfortable watching you.
37:27They don't want to be nervous.
37:28Yup.
37:29The audience can sit back and relax because they know they're in good hands.
37:31Yes.
37:32Exactly.
37:33I was impressed to see you all really commit to today's challenge.
37:36It shows that you're not just here to play, but to win.
37:41But one of you put your nerves aside and rocked the camera with your confidence and chemistry.
37:46The winner of the star quality challenge and tonight's shining star is...
37:59Marcus, congratulations.
38:01From jumping on a horse with confidence to filling the space we needed.
38:06I really enjoyed riding a horse.
38:08You did so great and that's really impressive.
38:10Winning my first star quality challenge feels amazing.
38:13It means that I'm doing something right.
38:15It means that I'm supposed to be here.
38:16And now, unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to someone who is absolutely incredible.
38:21Gabe, Logan, will you please step forward?
38:25Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm in the bottom two again.
38:30I feel my heart racing.
38:33Doing that scene, it was a mess.
38:34Logan, you messed up a few of your lines and it seemed to shake you.
38:39Instead of connecting with your co-star, it almost felt like you were acting alone.
38:43Gabe, when you're not on camera, you are confident and you are magic.
38:48When we call action, you lose a bit of your confidence.
38:52You seem a little disconnected in the scene and the focus was more on your next line
38:57than it was connecting with your co-star.
38:59Gabe, Logan, one of you will be going home right now.
39:04Winning this, I think, would definitely change my life.
39:07Let me stay, give me a chance.
39:09I don't want to go home.
39:10I'm learning every single day that I'm here.
39:13And I feel like I'm just getting started.
39:16Logan, that's a wrap.
39:23It's time to take your stocking down.
39:25You're going home for the holidays.
39:29Logan, you charmed us from day one with your authenticity and your love for magic.
39:34And every day, that's what you've been showing up with.
39:37I know everyone here is sad to see you go.
39:40And we can't wait to see what you do next.
39:43Being Mr. Christmas would have been, you know, that would have been so cool.
39:48Being the lead in a Hallmark movie.
39:50I mean, come on, who doesn't want that?
39:52I'm really glad that I got the opportunity.
39:56Getting the chance to meet new friends.
40:01Really having a connection with everybody.
40:04Would have missed you guys.
40:07But I loved it.
40:08I loved every second of it.
40:13Guys, you are all here chasing a dream.
40:16And with that can come some tough love and a little bit of heartbreak.
40:20We'll see you next time as we continue the search to find Mr. Christmas.
40:25Can't believe I get another chance.
40:27But I'm going to stay positive and go into the next challenges with confidence.
40:33Bye.
40:34Bye.
40:35Bye.
40:36Bye.
40:37Bye.
40:39Bye.
40:40Bye.
