00:00Previously on Finding Mr. Christmas, the search for Hallmark's next holiday leading man was in
00:13full swing. We better get out of the way. Oh. In the festive face-off, they had to slay the
00:18competition. Yo, you're the guy. Then in the star quality challenge, they posed as reindeer mid-flight
00:25for a picture-perfect holiday shot. There it is, there it is. Several soared above the rest. Oh, right there, right there. Mommy likes. But it was Davey who landed the perfect shot. Davey, congratulations, buddy. Others didn't quite get off the ground. I kind of look like a superhero right now, you know what I mean? And Drake's holiday dream came to an end. Eight, leading men remain as we continue the search to find Mr. Christmas.
00:55Robbie. Good morning, guys. Robbie. What's up? I needed a few extra winks this morning.
01:03Gotta get your sleep. It's the most important thing. Yeah. Well, how are you guys feeling after last night's elimination? Not safe. I was kind of at the top of the pack for the first few challenges. It can turn on its head real quick. You do take bold choices. You've done that from the very beginning.
01:19Being able to think outside of the box and try something bold. Yeah. That doesn't, that's never my first choice. So it's really cool to see you doing that. And I'm inspired by it. So thank you.
01:29I went from winning pretty much everything so far to almost on the chopping block. To be that low, it's nerve wracking.
01:39You just truly never know. Hey. Hey. What's up? Fellas. Gang's all here, huh? The Elite Eight, gentlemen. Oh, yeah. This is it. Oh, wow. It's getting real. Being here with you guys is a big win. It's cool to have you guys and, you know, here and kind of feel like you're on my team. Same. Same here, man.
01:56I've been searching for so long for people that I resonate with and that I can connect with. And I've become so close with the guys that are here. I'm really glad that I've, I've made these lifelong friends.
02:09Look at this brotherhood. Look at this group of awesome, talented gentlemen. It's like, look around at these faces. One of us is going to win. Right here. That's true.
02:18Look to your left.
02:19Get out of here. On the flip side, we're all going to lose except for one. Yeah. But we got another challenge. I'm excited for the festive face-off. You're just, you're excited for the festive face-off because you won the last one.
02:32It's like, let's do this.
02:35Oh, I've given it my all in all of the challenges and I haven't won a festive face-off yet. The bonus that you get from those is amazing.
02:46So I'm just going to try to get in there and finally win one of these festive face-offs.
02:50What? Hey guys, welcome back to the workshop. Eight of you are standing strong in the competition, but only one of you will walk out of here with a leading role in a Hallmark holiday movie and be crowned Mr. Christmas.
03:03All right.
03:05One of the best parts about Christmas are the baked goods. Every season, you can count on sweet shortbread, my favorite, the festive fruitcake.
03:13And the holiday headliner, the gingerbread house.
03:19In this festive face-off, each of you will be given a cookie foundation to build your magical manor.
03:25Don't get me wrong. I love my cookies, but building a gingerbread house, there's a lot of fine little details in there.
03:32When your gingerbread house is done, you will have to put it on the table to make a gingerbread village.
03:37Woo! Okay. I actually have some experience building gingerbread houses, so watch out, guys. I'm coming for y'all.
03:46We want you to create a house that reflects you and your holiday spirit.
03:50Let's find out something new about you by looking at your gingerbread house.
03:53You will not only be judged by the quality of your craft, but also the story behind your house.
03:59The holiday homestead that stands out the most, wins, and gets an advantage going into the star quality challenge.
04:09All right, boys. Are you ready to build some sweet memories?
04:13Yeah!
04:14You have 35 minutes to complete your frosty fortress.
04:19Ready, set, build!
04:23Oh, shoot. I got this here. Sorry.
04:25No, it's okay.
04:26All right, here we go.
04:28Oh, my gosh.
04:29Have you ever built gingerbread houses, man?
04:31Not since elementary school, actually.
04:33We have to go with the red licorice first.
04:36My mom used to get this when we would go on, like, trips, especially when we go to see family for, like, Christmas time.
04:42So, what are you doing? Why'd you go with the red licorice?
04:45I'm making a red schoolhouse.
04:47Oh!
04:47Christmas, for me, is all about your loved ones and your chosen family.
04:51I had a drama mentor when I was in high school, and I want to make this as an homage to him.
04:56You know, the teachers, like, have, like, such a huge part on your life.
05:00Yeah, no, that's a great idea.
05:01So, for this challenge, the first thing I think of is my girlfriend.
05:04She absolutely loves gingerbread houses.
05:07She'll buy them.
05:08She'll build them.
05:09She's bringing the house to life, you know?
05:10Christmas tree in the front.
05:11Me and my girlfriend in the front.
05:13I want to go with something that feels like the house that I grew up in.
05:19I knew right off the bat my gingerbread house had to be a white Christmas.
05:22Seeing these lights here makes me think of putting up Christmas lights.
05:25It was mostly my dad, actually, growing up.
05:27But when we got old enough, that was our holiday chore, putting up Christmas lights with my brothers.
05:32Now, being a dad, last year was the first year I put Christmas lights up on my own house.
05:36And I can't wait to continue that tradition with my own son.
05:39Are you going to teach Soto about Santa?
05:42For sure.
05:42How long are you going to take it?
05:44Until he's in high school.
05:47Everyone here is different, has a different background, and has a different story.
05:52I wanted to add a lot of color to my gingerbread house.
05:55When I was young, cereal was one thing I always ate.
05:58I'm putting cereals in the roof, little by little, but it's taking a long time.
06:04The thing is, would I be able to finish the roof?
06:06Oh, okay, you're bringing out the popcorn.
06:09See what you can do with that.
06:10So long.
06:11Why is this so long?
06:12Well, we have scissors, Craig.
06:13What is that?
06:15That's insane.
06:16Think 1990s.
06:17Think boombox?
06:19Little boombox.
06:20Okay, okay, okay.
06:21Boombox.
06:21I like that.
06:22Five minutes left.
06:24How's it going, Angel?
06:26Remember, you have to have your house on this table to create a village when the time is up.
06:34I'm feeling some pressure, I'm not going to lie here, guys.
06:35Yes, yeah.
06:37All right, I'm going to go ahead and move my gingerbread house to the village.
06:40All right, we got one house coming over to the village.
06:43I spent so much time on these lights, I hope it pays off.
06:47One minute left.
06:48All of the houses have to create the village or it doesn't count.
06:52Why is this moving?
06:53I'm on the move.
06:54Rustin, behind you.
06:55All right.
06:55We got Davey on the move.
06:56At this point, I have to get this house finished and get it on the table.
07:00All right, this is the final push.
07:02Gabe has moved.
07:03We got Robbie's moving.
07:05Whatever side you want to face front, face front.
07:06Looking at the other gingerbread houses, I feel like I didn't do enough.
07:10Everybody else's house is so elaborate.
07:13Wherever you want to go.
07:14Looks like we're losing candy left and right.
07:17Five, four, three, two, one.
07:21Oh, put down the frosting.
07:23Your time's up.
07:24That was insane.
07:25That was insane.
07:26These look awesome.
07:29Before we start checking if your gingerbread houses are up to code, I need to bring out
07:33a special guest judge for this one.
07:35She's the executive editor at People and an expert in all things Hallmark, Brianne Heldman.
07:44Hi, guys.
07:46So good to see you.
07:48Hi.
07:49Welcome, Brianne.
07:49It is so good to be here.
07:51You bring me into rooms with all of the best-looking men.
07:53You know, it's a tough day at work.
07:54This is a really hard day at work.
07:56So today, we're looking for the guy that built their gingerbread house with love, a personal
08:01story, and Christmas spirit.
08:03So Frank Lloyd, Mr. Right Now.
08:05Yeah.
08:06Oh, okay.
08:09Davey, tell us about your gingerbread house.
08:11We put lights on the house every year, and there are gingerbread people around my house
08:15representing my mom, my dad, my two brothers and I.
08:18You made the gingerbread house a home.
08:20I did.
08:20Great job.
08:21Thanks.
08:22Angel.
08:24The snow reminds me when I moved to the United States.
08:27I'd never seen snow in my life.
08:29The cereal on the side of the roof just reminds me when my mom had multiple jobs.
08:35She's a single mother.
08:36She worked really hard to make sure my sister and I have a roof over our heads and presents
08:43for Christmas.
08:44So she left me at home by myself, and I just ate a bunch of cereal.
08:49When I was running out of time, towards the end, I don't know if you can see, he looks
08:54different from the beginning.
08:55We saw.
08:55We saw you throwing the snow on there.
08:58Angel, great job.
09:00Robbie.
09:01So I wanted to make this schoolhouse.
09:03In front, there are two gingerbread men, and that is me and my drama mentor.
09:09I think that we're such a product of our teachers, they shape who we are today, and so I really
09:14wanted to celebrate him.
09:15He taught me so much about the craft of acting.
09:18He also had a husband, and so it was the first role model that I met that had a beautiful
09:24life and just really shaped the life that I wanted as a gay man moving forward, and I'm
09:28really grateful for him.
09:29Robbie, well done.
09:31Rustin, there is so much going on in this gingerbread house.
09:35Half of a roof is gone.
09:36What village is complete without a theater?
09:39So if you look at the very back, there's a stage built in there.
09:42Oh my God, there it is.
09:43And rows of audience members that are watching.
09:45My whole family was in a Christian worship band, and I had the worst stage fright.
09:50And so my dad, he built a stage in our house so that we could practice what it was like
09:55to perform for an audience so that we could gain more confidence.
09:58My dad asked me if I wanted him to build a treehouse, and I was like, no, can you build
10:03a stage in the basement?
10:04Which is what he did.
10:06And when parents understand that they have a child that performs and they just embrace
10:11it, it helps those kids shine so much.
10:13And I can see it in you.
10:18Logan, tell us a bit about your gingerbread house.
10:21The fireplace when I was a kid, being by a warm fireside opening presents, I don't
10:26know, I could just picture it every time I think about Christmas.
10:30Love it.
10:30That is so sweet.
10:31And I do love the ice cream cone as the chimney.
10:33That's really clever.
10:35Gabriel?
10:36So my house is a mix between a lot of memories from childhood.
10:39The seashells on the roof.
10:41We used to go to Newport every Christmas, and it was a really good part of my childhood.
10:47My girlfriend, Andrea, she just had our first child, Jory.
10:51I just remember Christmases being the best time ever, and I want that for my daughter.
10:56That's so sweet.
10:57Craig?
10:58What is happening here, Craig?
11:01I want the story.
11:02I need to know.
11:03Kick it.
11:04Now, I'm not a rapper per se.
11:06I just have the ability to rap.
11:08It's a 1990s gingerbread house.
11:11Ten guys, Jonathan and Brienne, in a blouse.
11:13You already know I'm here for the win.
11:15Let's go three for three and do this again.
11:19Nice.
11:19Okay.
11:20You got dinner and a show, Brienne.
11:22Wow.
11:23I'm so flattered.
11:24I mean, house and blouse.
11:27Thank God she wore a blouse.
11:29This is a 1990s gingerbread house.
11:31I was born in 91, and for me, Christmas is all about being a kid.
11:35You'll notice a cartoon taking place.
11:37What is this?
11:38Hand that to Brienne, if you don't mind.
11:40Hand that to Brienne, okay.
11:40And Jonathan, take the other one.
11:41Okay.
11:42So this was my favorite game in the 90s.
11:45Jonathan.
11:46And Brienne.
11:46Brienne, are you home?
11:47Over.
11:48I am home.
11:49Over.
11:50What are you making for Christmas dinner?
11:52I don't cook.
11:54Really great presentation.
11:56This was so creative.
11:58Marcus.
11:59My girlfriend loves gingerbread houses, so right there at the front, we have me and my girlfriend
12:03at the house, greeting everybody with our Christmas tree.
12:06We have a horse symbolizing like a stable.
12:08My girlfriend loves animals.
12:09That's for her.
12:10And on the other side, we have stuff for my girlfriend's lake house, which is actually
12:14the first time I told my girlfriend that I loved her.
12:16Your girlfriend rides horses.
12:18She loves horses, yes.
12:19Do you love horses?
12:20You know, I've actually never ridden a horse.
12:22But then you have a horse on your display to show your girlfriend, and then you have
12:26the lake house part of it from your girlfriend's lake house.
12:30I want to know Marcus.
12:31Yeah.
12:31We got some crafters in this group.
12:33Well done, boys.
12:34Really impressive.
12:35Thank you so much for opening up and sharing your personal stories with us.
12:39I was surprised at the level of detail and craftsmanship some of the other guys were able to implement
12:44into their gingerbread house.
12:45But overall, I think my presentation went well.
12:48The winner of this festive face-off, who's at the top of the nice list, is...
12:55Robby, congratulations.
13:00Good job, guys.
13:02Awesome.
13:03Robby, that's two festive face-offs in a row.
13:06It feels so good.
13:07We all are here because of the people that shaped us.
13:09And to get to do something that honors them, it just, like, means the world.
13:13I'm so thrilled.
13:14Robby, you're going to receive an advantage in the star quality challenge.
13:16Oh, yes.
13:18It'll be revealed later.
13:20Now go hang out in the holiday house where the doors actually work.
13:24Get out of here, you crazy kids.
13:25Good job.
13:26So nice to meet you.
13:28Coming up, welcome Allie Sweeney.
13:32I guess I'm learning to ride a horse today.
13:36And just swing on up.
13:39You missed a lot of the lines.
13:43Robby with the streak.
13:45That was an impressive house, man.
13:46Yeah, it really was.
13:48Yeah.
13:48It looked like you had days to do it.
13:50It was so good.
13:51You ever consider going into, like, contracting or home building?
13:54Um, absolutely not.
13:55Because that house is going to fall down with one little push.
14:00Or bite.
14:00Or bite.
14:01A little bite, yeah.
14:03I like how a lot of these challenges are kind of shedding light on a lot of our personalities,
14:07where we come from, how we were raised.
14:09Angel, it was really nice hearing about your mom and all the stories you told about her.
14:12Just having that cereal represented joy.
14:16I understand that, yeah, yeah.
14:17Because I had a single mom as well.
14:19She was a nurse, so I definitely understand that.
14:22My mom means everything to me.
14:23I mean, she raised me.
14:25She took care of me.
14:26About a month and a half ago, my mom found out that she does have cancer in her lungs.
14:30It's hard to talk about, but she was very supportive of me, like, go do it.
14:35I definitely want to make my mom as proud as possible.
14:38You're such a great guy, Marcus.
14:39Every day is so topsy-turvy, and they're all so different, and it's anybody's game.
14:44I haven't won anything.
14:46I've been on, like, second, third gear.
14:48I haven't been on fourth, fifth, and sixth.
14:51So I feel like maybe it's time to be on the highway and just go fast as you can.
14:57Hit the nuts.
14:58Hit the nuts.
14:59Hit the nuts.
15:02Come on in, boys!
15:04Come on, Cowboys!
15:05Come on, Cowboys!
15:06Yeah!
15:06O-M-G.
15:10What are we about to do?
15:12This is exciting.
15:13I love Westerns.
15:15Howdy, boys!
15:16This is a Cowboy Christmas.
15:18Woo-hoo!
15:19Woo-hoo!
15:20Yeah!
15:21Nice.
15:22Hallmark Christmas movies are known for blending charm, romance, and holiday magic.
15:27And this star quality challenge will be no different.
15:30In this scene, you'll be working with two co-stars.
15:33The first one is a Hallmark megastar.
15:36And she just marked her 30th film with Hallmark.
15:39Please welcome, Ali Sweeney.
15:42Woo-hoo!
15:44Ali Sweeney is incredible.
15:46I am so, so, so excited.
15:50Howdy.
15:50Hello.
15:51Hi.
15:51Hey.
15:52Hello.
15:52And this is your other co-star, Belle the horse.
15:56Hello, Belle.
15:57Hello, Belle.
15:58In this challenge, you're going to have to maneuver your horse as you create chemistry with your leading lady.
16:05Wow.
16:05I guess I'm learning to ride a horse today.
16:06Yeah.
16:07Horses like small children might throw a curveball at you, and you have to play that in the scene.
16:12Don't let it throw you.
16:13I have zero experience on a horse.
16:17My mom and my grandma were both bucked off a horse, which doesn't necessarily give me a lot of confidence.
16:22Here's what we're going to be looking for.
16:24Your connection with your leading lady.
16:25Your ability to work with animals.
16:27And as always, star quality.
16:30But before we saddle up, Robbie, because you were at the top of the nice list in the festive face-off, you will get an extra five minutes with your horse and Ali.
16:40Oh, okay.
16:42I'll take it.
16:43Thank you very much.
16:45All right, partners.
16:46Here are your scripts.
16:48Go inside.
16:49Get changed.
16:49You'll be able to meet your horse co-star before we roll.
16:52I'm going to see if I still got it.
16:58Go lasso him.
16:59Go get him, Melissa.
17:00Go get him.
17:01You want to know the catch.
17:03You want to know the catch.
17:04The scene is about the first date.
17:08So there's some flirtatiousness, and that's easy for me.
17:12I'm also a bartender.
17:15So part of being a bartender, you flirt, get some extra tips here and there.
17:20So it's going to be fun.
17:22I am unbelievably excited.
17:28I love horses.
17:29I've ridden horses and ponies, and I'm really excited to bring that experience to the scene.
17:35Oh, with that, with that.
17:37So I can do horseback riding.
17:39I'm very proud of that.
17:45It's hard not to be a little bit scared.
17:49Right here.
17:49I take a deep breath, try to calm my nerves, do whatever I can to slow my heart rate down,
17:54because I know that being nervous is only going to hold me back.
17:57Take your leg over my back.
17:58Oh, nice.
18:00Hey.
18:01Okay, great.
18:01Hey, Robbie.
18:04So nice to meet you.
18:05How do you feel about this?
18:06Good.
18:06I've ridden horses, but not in a long time.
18:08Okay.
18:08Okay.
18:08Yeah.
18:09Sure.
18:09So I think it, hopefully it is like riding a bike.
18:10Yeah.
18:11So I'm ready for my advantage.
18:13That time is huge.
18:15I think if I say, let's see what else you got, and I can kind of gesture for you to go.
18:19Okay.
18:20Does she, let's see what else you got.
18:21Because then you can kind of go off first thing.
18:23However you feel, you know, your character would like lead the way or not, or, you know,
18:28we, I think we're going to have to discover it.
18:30And giving that audience the inside glimpse as to like what you're thinking without me
18:35looking at you is a huge, important moment on screen.
18:38I love that.
18:39Thank you for that.
18:40Everybody set.
18:41There's no room for like not doing well at this point.
18:45Settle.
18:46This could be a way to stretch myself and also show the judges a different side of me.
18:51Three, two, one, action.
18:54Wow.
18:55A Christmas horseback ride.
18:57What a great idea.
18:58Thanks for the invite.
18:58I mean, I'm a little nervous.
19:01It's been a long time since I've ridden.
19:03I thought we'd do a little refresh around the training ring before we go out on the walk.
19:06Sound good?
19:06Yeah.
19:07Perfect.
19:08Now, we always mount from the left and you want to grab the reins, throw them over the
19:12horse's head.
19:14Like that.
19:15You put your foot in the stirrup and just swing on up.
19:20Ah.
19:20He looks relaxed.
19:22Foot in the stirrup and swing.
19:25Look at that.
19:27You're an old pro.
19:28Oh, it's like riding a bike, I guess.
19:31This character that I'm playing, he needs to find out if she's as into me as I am into
19:36her.
19:36Wow.
19:37The horse has listened to you so well.
19:39How long have you been riding?
19:40I started when I was a kid.
19:42My grandparents rode, so I guess you could say it's in my blood.
19:46Got a real life cowboy on our hands.
19:48So, cowboy, your grandparents taught you to ride.
19:52You must have a good relationship with your family.
19:54I guess that's right.
19:55Horses like you, so you have good energy.
19:58Can't argue with that.
20:00And you planned this whole date, so you must be a gentleman.
20:03It means I just have one question.
20:06What's the catch?
20:07You want to know what the catch is?
20:10When I see something I like, I don't rest until I get it.
20:15Oh.
20:16Well then, I hope you know how to keep up.
20:22And cut!
20:23He took his time, he leaned in, and he did what the script called for.
20:27Ride them cowboy!
20:29Woo!
20:29Let's go.
20:30How you doing?
20:31Oh, man.
20:31How was it?
20:32Y'all, that horse, she has a mind of her own.
20:36Wish me luck.
20:37All right, I'll see you guys soon.
20:40It's a little nerve-wracking going into this challenge being somebody that's never ridden a
20:44horse before.
20:45I don't know how that horse is going to react.
20:48What if I get thrown off of the horse?
20:50I don't know how it can get any harder than this.
20:52And action!
20:55Wow, a Christmas horseback ride.
20:58That's a great idea.
20:59Thanks for the invite.
21:00And I'm just a little nervous.
21:02It's been a long time since I've ridden.
21:04No worries.
21:04I thought we'd do a little refresh around the training ring before we head out on a walk.
21:09Sound good?
21:10Yeah, perfect.
21:11All right.
21:12Put your foot into the stirrup and swing on up.
21:18Look good?
21:19Okay, the one that has never ridden a horse before, flawless.
21:22Left side.
21:22Foot in the stirrup.
21:23Yep.
21:23And then I just swing.
21:26Yee-haw!
21:27Look at you!
21:29Look at that movie star moment.
21:31This is what I'm talking about.
21:32Oh, the horses really like you.
21:34How long have you been riding?
21:35Here?
21:36Uh, just a couple of years, but I rode when I was a kid.
21:40Wow, we've got a real-life cowboy on our hands.
21:42Huh?
21:44So, your grandparents taught you to ride.
21:47You must be close with your family?
21:49That's right.
21:50And horses like you, so you must have good energy.
21:54What's the catch?
21:56So you want to know what the catch is?
21:58I do.
21:59Once I see something I like...
22:01Oh.
22:02Oh, no, the horse is going in reverse.
22:05Come on.
22:06He needs to get that final line in.
22:10Coming up...
22:11Go on a little refresh around the training yard.
22:14All right, let's see what else you got.
22:17He's got to slow down that heartbeat a little bit.
22:19Yeah.
22:23The horse is going in reverse.
22:25Let's see how Marcus handles it.
22:27Once I see something I like, I don't stop until I get it.
22:34Well, then, you better learn how to go forward, buddy.
22:40And cut!
22:41How he handled it, now that's a movie star.
22:44Clearly, the horse didn't get the script,
22:46but I think I'm in a good spot.
22:48When he leaned in and was like,
22:50hey, I'm here to be your date.
22:52I'm like, put a saddle on me.
22:53I know.
22:55Sorry, Mom, I said it.
22:56Put your left foot in stirrup.
22:58Grab the reins.
22:59I grew up in a town with a lot of horses,
23:02but I never actually got on a horse personally.
23:04It's hard not to be a little bit scared.
23:10My mom and my grandma both got bucked off and broke bones.
23:14Just got to slow down that heartbeat a little bit.
23:16Yeah, you got this.
23:17Once I'm in the moment, I feel like I'll be.
23:18Okay, yeah, totally.
23:20That's a big thing to overcome.
23:21I mean, we have to do that as actors, right?
23:23And action!
23:25I'm kind of nervous.
23:26It's been a long time since I've ridden.
23:29No worries.
23:29Let's do a little refresher around the practice track here.
23:32And before we head out on the walk,
23:35let you get the hang of it.
23:35Sound good?
23:36Perfect.
23:36All right.
23:38So, remember, we always want to mount on the left side.
23:43Okay.
23:46I'm definitely having a hard time calming my nerves.
23:49Throw that left foot in the stirrup.
23:58And swing on up.
24:00Okay.
24:00There it is.
24:01Okay.
24:01And swing.
24:02You're a real pro.
24:04Let's see what else you got.
24:06I mean, come on.
24:07Oh, my gosh.
24:07They listen to you so well.
24:09How long have you been riding?
24:10My grandparents rode,
24:11so I guess you could say it's in my blood.
24:13Wow.
24:14Got a real cowboy on our hands.
24:17I'd watch this movie.
24:19Do you think they get together in the end?
24:21Yes.
24:22Yeah, they get together.
24:23So, cowboy, let me ask.
24:25What's that?
24:26What's the catch?
24:27You want to know the catch?
24:29Well, when I see something I like,
24:31I get it.
24:33Huh.
24:34But can you keep up?
24:42Yes!
24:43And cut!
24:44I'd like to think my grandma and my mom would be proud
24:46of the fact that I got up on that horse.
24:48And my acting wasn't too shabby, either.
24:50Never ridden a horse.
24:51I never once worried about him on that horse.
24:52Just exuded confidence.
24:54The one thing Davey could have done better is...
24:56Find his camera a little better.
24:57Find his camera a little better.
25:02I feel like I have a good grasp on my lines this time.
25:04I just have to show confidence.
25:07Just act like I'm actually a cowboy
25:09and that I've done this a million times on a first date.
25:12Action!
25:15A Christmas horseback ride is such a great idea.
25:18Thanks for the invite.
25:19I'm a little nervous.
25:21It's been a long time since I've ridden.
25:23Don't worry.
25:23I thought we'd do a little refresh on the training ground.
25:27Just grab the reins.
25:30Put your foot in the stirrup.
25:31Mm-hmm.
25:32And swing on up.
25:32Look at that.
25:41All I want from Gabe in this last moment
25:43is I want him to look at that camera and be a leading man.
25:46Yeah.
25:47Those horses really listen to you.
25:48How long have you been riding?
25:49Just a couple of years.
25:50But I started as a kid.
25:52Real-life cowboy on their hands.
25:54Yep.
25:55This is a definitely better.
25:56Yes.
25:57All right, cowboy.
25:58What's the catch?
26:00You want to know the catch?
26:01Okay, here we go.
26:03Come on.
26:06Once I see something I like,
26:07I don't rest until I get it.
26:10Ooh.
26:12Well, let's see if you can keep up.
26:17Okay.
26:18And cut!
26:19I was stressing a tiny bit.
26:22She's intimidating to me a little bit
26:23because she's so beautiful
26:24and such a good actress, you know?
26:26Yeah, yeah.
26:28The horse?
26:29Yeah, the horse.
26:31I'm feeling a little bit nervous.
26:32I'm not going to lie.
26:33Allie is a little intimidating.
26:35I'm going to do the best that I can to connect,
26:38be grounded, be present with Allie.
26:40She's a pro.
26:42Action!
26:43I figured we'd just go on a little refresh
26:45around the training yard before we get started.
26:49Okay.
26:49Sound good?
26:50Yeah.
26:51All right.
26:51All right.
26:52Cool.
26:52So we always mount from the left side.
26:54Okay.
26:54All right.
26:55Just grab the reins.
26:58Get it over this guy.
27:01Come on, baby.
27:05Now here's where he has to get the horses.
27:08Just got to get it over her ear as well.
27:10Of course.
27:11Makes sense.
27:12This is like a tornado meeting a volcano.
27:16I'm not off to a great start,
27:17but it's not about how you start.
27:19It's about how you finish.
27:20Putting the stir up.
27:21Yeah.
27:22And just swing on up there.
27:24Right.
27:25Hey, baby.
27:27Swing up.
27:27Nice swing up.
27:28They look good together.
27:29They look really good together.
27:31They really listen to you.
27:32How long have you been riding?
27:34Well, here, just a few years,
27:36but started when I was a little kid.
27:38My grandparents rode,
27:39so it's kind of in my blood.
27:41Wow.
27:41Wow.
27:42We've got a real-life cowboy on our hands.
27:44Look how much of a movie star Craig looks like.
27:45He looks fantastic.
27:46That's right.
27:47Those eyes.
27:47Look at that.
27:49So, cowboy,
27:50that means I've got just one question for you.
27:55What's the catch?
27:57The catch?
27:59Once I see something I like,
28:05I don't stop until I get it.
28:07Wow.
28:07Well, then you better learn to catch up.
28:14Good girl.
28:15Cute.
28:16And cut!
28:16Very cute.
28:17Once he got up on the horse,
28:19it was great.
28:20I'll see you later, Jingle.
28:25Never go behind a horse, man.
28:28I'm surprised you didn't do an accent.
28:31Not this time, no.
28:31I'm excited to prove that I am definitely
28:34Hallmark Lady Man material.
28:37I don't need to be playing it safe in this competition.
28:39So, I feel like the cowboy would kind of have an accent,
28:43like a slow tone talk to him.
28:46Come on, Logan.
28:47Come on, Logan.
28:50Action!
28:51Wow.
28:52A Christmas horseback ride.
28:54What a great idea.
28:55Thanks for the invite.
28:56I mean, I'm a little nervous.
28:57It's been a long time since I've ridden.
28:59Okay.
28:59No worries.
29:00But, I thought we'd do a little refresher course,
29:03kind of get you refreshed and back on it.
29:06Okay.
29:06Perfect.
29:07Come on.
29:15Come on.
29:22He's not saying anything.
29:24All right.
29:26There we go.
29:28Fill up the space.
29:29Fill up the list.
29:30He missed, he missed a lot of the lines.
29:35Coming up, you became a Latino cowboy.
29:39Swing on over.
29:40Okay.
29:42Mind dropping that for me, hon?
29:43We have to say goodbye to someone who is absolutely incredible.
29:49Come here.
29:50It's okay.
29:51Come here.
29:53Thanks, man.
29:53The horse started backing up, and I forgot half the line that I was going to be delivering,
29:59and it was so much like dead air.
30:05Fill that space.
30:06With something.
30:07With something.
30:07You don't have to add dialogue if that isn't comfortable, but fill it with something.
30:12Mm-hmm.
30:12All right.
30:13Yeah.
30:14So, you just want to grab your reins.
30:15Okay.
30:16Put your foot in the stirrup.
30:17Yep.
30:17And swing on up.
30:18Okay.
30:19A little shaky to start, but he pulled it back in, and he got it.
30:23So, how long have you been riding?
30:29Here?
30:30Just a couple years.
30:32But I started out when I was a kid.
30:35My grandparents rode, so.
30:36Your grandparents rode.
30:39So that must mean you're close with your family?
30:42That's right.
30:43And horses like you, so that must mean you have good energy.
30:47I guess I just have one question.
30:49Where's the catch?
30:50Do you want to know what the catch is?
30:57Well, when I see something I like, I don't rest until I get it.
31:02I hope you can keep up.
31:03And that's a cut.
31:09He missed some of the lines.
31:11He missed the lines, and you could see, I could see a moment where he got flustered.
31:14It felt awkward.
31:15Is this your time to shine?
31:17I have to make sure the animal can trust me and sense that I have good energy coming into
31:22the scene, and if I do that, I feel like I'm going to do great.
31:26Yee-haw, cowboys.
31:28Let's go.
31:30You got this, Angel.
31:31Action.
31:33Thank you for joining me.
31:34Oh, yeah.
31:35I mean, a Christmas horseback ride?
31:37Thank you for the invite.
31:38I'm a little nervous, though.
31:39It's been a long time since I've ridden.
31:41Oh, no worries, my lady.
31:44My lady?
31:44You put the rings over the horse.
31:47Sure.
31:47Make sure you're gentle.
31:48How you doing?
31:49Talk to the horse.
31:51Make sure.
31:53Come here.
31:54Sometimes this will happen.
31:56Oh, oh, oh, oh.
31:57Uncooperative co-star.
31:58It's okay, baby.
31:59It's okay.
32:01Oh.
32:02I got you.
32:02I got you.
32:03Oh, he's doing so good at filling the space with dialogue.
32:07He literally wrote another scene into that just by keeping in it.
32:11He's so good.
32:12And swing on out.
32:14Wow.
32:14It's a pissy.
32:15Okay.
32:17It's a pissy.
32:18All right, let's see what else you got.
32:22We have a real-life cowboy on our hands.
32:24Something is kind of in my blood.
32:27So I just have one question.
32:29What's the catch?
32:30You want to know what the catch is?
32:34When I see something I like, I don't stop until I get it.
32:39All right, and I hope you can keep up.
32:44I'm up for this.
32:45Let's go.
32:47Cut.
32:47And he stayed in it when his horse was uncooperative, and I mean, it was amazing.
32:51Oh.
32:52No, come on.
32:55Oh, get out of here, man.
32:58Dude, you're the best.
32:59That was fun.
33:00Yeah.
33:00I became a Latino cowboy.
33:03I'm a Latino cowboy.
33:06Angels always winning over the ladies, but I was actually voted the biggest flirt at my
33:12high school, so this is going to be right up my alley.
33:15No pun intended.
33:17Action!
33:18Wow, a Christmas horseback ride.
33:21What a great idea.
33:22Thank you for the invite.
33:24I mean, I'm a little nervous, because it's been a long time since I've ridden.
33:28Ah, no worries.
33:30I think we'll do a little refresher on the training ring before we go out on the walk.
33:33Sound good?
33:34Perfect.
33:35Oh, come here, girl.
33:37Yeah, you're a good girl.
33:39Come here, baby.
33:39You just put your foot in the stirrup, and swing on over.
33:43Okay.
33:45Mind grabbing that for me, hon?
33:46I don't mind at all.
33:47Thank you so much.
33:48Here you go.
33:49So.
33:50All right, it's your turn.
33:52Yeah, you made it look so easy.
33:53He's so natural up there.
33:55Grounded my foot in the stirrup, and I swing up.
34:00Let's see what else you can do.
34:01Your only job is to charm, charm, charm, and that's exactly what he's doing.
34:06Wow, the horse has really listened to you.
34:07How long have you been riding?
34:09Here?
34:11Just a couple years.
34:12But I started as a kid.
34:15Got a real-life cowboy on our hands.
34:19All right, cowboy.
34:20I guess there's just one question.
34:22What's the catch?
34:24You want to know the catch?
34:26When I see something I like, I don't rest till I get it.
34:33Hope you can keep up.
34:34Is it hot in here, or is it rustin'?
34:42It's freezing, but I don't care.
34:44Is it hot in here, or is it rustin'?
34:45Oh, my gosh.
34:46Rustin is boiling our blood.
34:48I don't need these blankets.
34:50He is so good.
34:50I don't need these blankets.
34:51I don't need these blankets.
34:52You just had rustin' even.
34:53I just got rustin'.
34:54Boom!
34:54You just got rustin'.
34:55Rustin'.
34:56I'm really curious to hear what Allie says, because she's got to be up close and personal
34:59and, like, be really connected to them.
35:01And I have my thoughts, but I want to know who really got to her.
35:06Yeah.
35:06This is going to be a tough decision.
35:07I hope you all had half as much fun as I did.
35:12Oh, man.
35:13It just feels like such an even playing field that it could be anyone at any moment.
35:16Top, bottom, middle, like...
35:20We'll see, man.
35:21Wow, we put our hunks through the test today.
35:24So many things going on in that scene.
35:26Let's first talk about the guys we thought did well.
35:28Let's talk about Marcus.
35:30Marcus had never been on a horse before.
35:32Wow, that was impressive.
35:33He never once looked like he was thinking about the horse.
35:35When he swung right up there, I thought he had so much swagger and confidence.
35:39There was not a single second that I felt like he was out of character.
35:42Do you ever have that thing in scenes with other actors where you're, like, nervous for them?
35:45You're a little worried, like, oh, are they going to forget their line?
35:47Oh, are they worried about this blocking?
35:49With him, not for a second was I nervous.
35:51He felt like you were in good hands the whole time.
35:53Yes, exactly.
35:54Then we had Angel.
35:55He came into it with intention.
35:57He came into it with an idea.
35:58He wanted to make it his own.
36:00It's a piece.
36:00Okay.
36:01I loved how he did it.
36:02I loved how he looked at me in the scene.
36:04I loved everything about it.
36:06Then we have Rustin, our resident cowboy.
36:08He understands the assignment.
36:10He does.
36:10Yes.
36:10He was so great with the horse.
36:12He handled everything really confidently.
36:14He has a confidence that cannot be broken.
36:16The only thing that was a little tricky was his hat came off.
36:19And he asked you to get it, right?
36:20And he, yeah.
36:21But I felt sort of like he sort of stepped on me by saying, like, hey, will you get that
36:25for me?
36:26And you were like, I'm already getting it.
36:27And I'm sort of like, dude, I already got it.
36:28I'm nervous.
36:29Not going to lie.
36:30It was the challenge for sure, because the horses are kind of unpredictable.
36:35Now let's talk about who struggled.
36:37Now, Craig is, you know, our very confident hunk.
36:39I felt a little nerves from Craig.
36:40Yeah.
36:41When the horse, you know, didn't cooperate, as we warned him, he definitely allowed it
36:45to sort of fluster him a tiny bit.
36:48I forgot what the line was.
36:50Then I internally panicked.
36:52And I was like, oh no, oh no.
36:53And then we had Logan.
36:55It felt a little bit like he was nervous about the cameras.
36:58Just didn't have that comfort with how to hit your mark.
37:00It didn't feel intentional.
37:01That's right.
37:02So then let's talk about Gabriel.
37:03There's something with Gabriel where I want him to lock in, because when those glimpses
37:08happen, they're great.
37:09But there's so many cracks between the glimpses of greatness.
37:12Yeah.
37:13He's thinking about the next line.
37:14That comes with experience.
37:15We have a huge decision to make.
37:17We have eight hunks that really turned themselves into Christmas cowboys.
37:21They did.
37:21And they did such a great job.
37:23But unfortunately, someone's got to go home.
37:28Walking into elimination, I'm feeling stressed.
37:31I'm doing the best I can.
37:33I just don't know if that's going to be enough.
37:36Although I didn't start that scene off on the right foot, I do think I recovered well.
37:40I know that this is just the beginning.
37:43And I'm hoping that I'm not going home.
37:45Hello, gentlemen.
37:46Welcome back to the moment where your chance to be Mr. Christmas hangs in the balance.
37:52Tonight, one of you will be named this week's shining star, and one of you will be headed
37:58home for the holidays.
38:00In this star quality challenge, we asked you to step out of your comfort zone and step onto
38:06a horse while having a romantic scene with your co-star, Ali Sweeney.
38:11Ali, you got to act with the guys.
38:13How do you think they did?
38:14The key in all of this is if you are natural and comfortable with what you're doing, the
38:19audience feels that.
38:20And they love it.
38:21And they want to feel comfortable watching you.
38:24They don't want to be nervous.
38:25And the audience can sit back and relax because they know they're in good hands.
38:28Yes, exactly.
38:29I was impressed to see you all really commit to today's challenge.
38:33It shows that you're not just here to play, but to win.
38:37But one of you put your nerves aside and rocked the camera with your confidence and chemistry.
38:42The winner of the star quality challenge and tonight's shining star is Marcus.
38:56Congratulations.
38:59From jumping on a horse with confidence to filling the space we needed.
39:03I really enjoyed riding a horse.
39:05You did so great, and that's really impressive.
39:07Winning my first star quality challenge feels amazing.
39:10It means that I'm doing something right.
39:12It means that I'm supposed to be here.
39:13And now, unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to someone who is absolutely incredible.
39:18Gabe.
39:20Logan.
39:20Will you please step forward?
39:23Oh my gosh.
39:25I can't believe I'm in the bottom two again.
39:27I feel my heart racing.
39:29Doing that scene, it was a mess.
39:31Logan.
39:32You messed up a few of your lines, and it seemed to shake you.
39:35Instead of connecting with your co-star, it almost felt like you were acting alone.
39:39Gabe.
39:41When you're not on camera, you are confident and you are magic.
39:45When we call action, you lose a bit of your confidence.
39:48You seem a little disconnected in the scene, and the focus was more on your next line than
39:54it was connecting with your co-star.
39:56Gabe.
39:57Logan.
39:58One of you will be going home right now.
40:01Winning this, I think, would definitely change my life.
40:04Let me stay.
40:05Give me a chance.
40:05I don't want to go home.
40:07I'm learning every single day that I'm here, and I feel like I'm just getting started.
40:17Logan, that's a wrap.
40:19It's time to take your stocking down.
40:21You're going home for the holidays.
40:23Logan, you charmed us from day one with your authenticity and your love for magic, and every
40:31day, that's what you've been showing up with.
40:34I know everyone here is sad to see you go, and we can't wait to see what you do next.
40:39Being Mr. Christmas would have been, you know, that would have been so cool.
40:45Being the lead in a Hallmark movie, I mean, come on, who doesn't want that?
40:50What do you want me to see, bro?
40:51Really glad that I got the opportunity.
40:56Getting the chance to meet new friends.
40:59Really having a connection with everybody.
41:02I would have missed you guys.
41:04But I loved it.
41:05I loved every second of it.
41:06Guys, you are all here chasing a dream, and with that can come some tough love and a little
41:16bit of heartbreak.
41:17We'll see you next time as we continue the search to find Mr. Christmas.
41:22Can't believe I get another chance, but I'm going to stay positive and go into the next
41:26challenges with confidence.
41:36Have a great day.
41:56You
