00:00Welcome back to From the South.
00:03In Honduras, there's a small town that stands out for rich craftsmanship.
00:07We're talking about the town of Valle de Angeles, located on the Oscars of Tegucigalpa.
00:12Our special envoy, Roberto Hugo Presa, traveled there to show us this picturesque place.
00:19With a land area of 106 square kilometers, this picturesque place welcomes many domestic
00:24and foreign tourists, attracted by its architecture, pleasant climate, architectural richness,
00:30and varied handicrafts.
00:31Valle de Angeles is known as the crafting cradle of the Francisco Morazan department.
00:37In 1960, the first craft center in Valle de Angeles called El Cava was established.
00:46Unfortunately, it no longer exists, but we still have the artisans who continue to do
00:52their craft.
00:56Its craftsmanship is what has made Valle de Angeles a tourist destination for people looking for
01:01exclusive pieces made of leather, wood, and clay.
01:08Now we have created a mix of attractions.
01:14Rolando displays in his shop a variety of jewelry and ornaments made from quartz, jade, and marble,
01:19among other minerals.
01:25The main thing we use for tourists is quartz.
01:28That is, we make quartz necklaces here.
01:35So the tourists who come here are national and international because many famous people
01:39from all over the world visit us here because we are number 50.
01:47One of the best towns in the world.
01:53At every turn, creativity is transformed into artwork.
01:57For example, in this small workshop, scrap metal is turned into works of art.
02:01Basically, we are trying to illustrate what a musician would be like.
02:07This musician is elaborate, let's say the music comes from below and costs.
02:11The theme is everything it has taken for the musician to reach the top.
02:17And we also make small pieces, like Harley styles, small motorcycles.
02:21Then, giving a second chance to scrap metal and recycling.
02:30Culture and art also emerge from the heart of the people.
02:34Denis Berrios paints from head to toe, and his works have crossed borders.
02:38His latest collection, exhibited in Rome and Mexico, portrays the suffering of migrants
02:43and is a silent cry or protest against the criminalization they endure.
02:53The idea is to create a traveling exhibition.
02:59To show it in different cities and states as a demonstration of support for migrants.
03:07Sending the message that migration should be a right.
03:12Without limits or borders.
03:19The people of this place are proud to show the world their cultural, architectural, artistic,
03:24gastronomic, and artisanal wealth, which generates tourism and boosts the local economy.
03:31Valde Angelis is a very cultural town.
03:33We have several murals.
03:35It is a very picturesque town.
03:37In addition, we have different types of clothing.
03:39So I truly invite you to come.
03:42The authorities, residents, and artisans of this place say that this town has become a
03:46magnet for nationals and tourists who come to acquire this natural wealth transformed into
03:51handicrafts.
