00:22Jack survived the fire that consumed the Pearsons' house, only to die hours later in the hospital
00:28from a heart attack caused by complications from smoke inhalation.

00:39And it was heartbreaking. Milo Ventimiglia, the man behind Jack, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter
00:44about filming the emotional episode, Tuesday's equally emotional funeral, and his future with a family drama.
00:50So, is Ventimiglia relieved the mystery is finally over? He tells THR,
00:54Yes, 100% relieved. Signing up for this show, I knew there was going to be tears.
00:59I didn't know there was going to be so much fervent chasing of the family's secrets.
01:03I'm happy that the audience now knows because they've asked the question for so long now.
01:07But at the same time, my heart breaks. But no worries. Jack isn't going anywhere.
01:12He'll still be a part of the time-jumping show and a series regular next season. He says,

02:10that are playing those parts. That will rely on myself and another actor stepping into the shoes of Nicky.
02:15Their time as young men, their time in Vietnam, the knowledge that maybe Nicky didn't quite make it.
