00:00So what did you think when you first read the script?
00:02I was like, yes, whatever I have to do to be in this film, I am all day.
00:07Well, first of all, it's Damien Giselle.
00:10You know he's going to get a sick crew.
00:12You know he's going to get the best actors.
00:13You know he's brilliant.
00:16And it's a movie, you know, I want to be in a moving picture about moving pictures, really.
00:20I mean, what an honor.
00:21We don't make these movies anymore.
00:22Not that I wouldn't want to be in a superhero movie.
00:24Hello, everyone.
00:25You know what I'm saying?
00:26It's like this is, come on, this is a big boy, big girl movie about Hollywood and it's special.
00:32And there's no rules.
00:34I mean, that's what you really want.
00:35Like we're going to tell a movie about Hollywood with like all the zits and everything, you know.
00:41And there's a lot of crazy scenes in this movie.
00:43What was kind of your craziest day on set?
00:46Well, there's one scene I do.
00:48I mean, there's so many because even the silent films, I couldn't get over the insanity of the silent film era.
00:52How people are allowed and the drugs and the craziness.
00:55It's also that's an era, it's the wild west of film.
00:58There's really no rules.
01:00And there's not nice people in this business.
01:03And I play a not a nice man, if you will.
01:05So when I did the scene where I actually play the first first AD, when we come into sound, and no one knows how to shut the hell up, okay?
01:15And I just go apoplectic at people.
01:18And I just, when I was doing it, I just wanted to make sure that any set I ever walk on in the future, that every first AD comes out to me and just goes, thank you.
01:26Thank you for letting the world know the insanity that we deal with and how many balls we have to keep in the air.
01:32Yeah.
01:32Yeah.
01:32You're doing a service.
01:34That was, I truly, I want that to happen.
01:36I want that to happen.
01:37I want them to just go, thank you.
01:38I'm like, I really did it for you.
01:40And how is it to kind of explore this area of Hollywood when we really don't see this kind of 1920s shown?
01:48Oh, I mean, I'll be in any period movie, period.
01:53So with this time period in particular, it's also about our industry.
01:58Like, you know, I got to have this, I got to live in that time period and, you know, feel like I was an actor and feel like I was an AD and feel like I was an artist in the 20s because the sets are so real.
02:11The costumes are so real.
02:12The actors you get to work with are just so champion.
02:17Like, I'll do it again every week.
02:18That's, if I had to, like, let this be the new TV show.
02:20Like, let me go do that forever.
02:21It was great.
02:23Yeah.
02:23It's about the length of a TV show, so.
02:25That's no joke.
02:25So, like, yeah, you don't have to, for whatever reason, it goes very fast and your bladder doesn't go, huh.
02:30It was very, very quick because I have a very tight bladder.
02:33Yeah.
02:33What did you think watching it for the first time?
02:36I saw it the first time with, like, three people and I was, like, blown away.
02:42But, you know, you're always like a parent when you're watching these things.
02:45You want it to be great.
02:46You want your kid to be great.
02:47So when I saw it with an audience, at the end, I, like, cried.
02:51I was like, oh, my God, they like it.
02:53Because I was like, I think this is great.
02:54Am I losing my mind?
02:55Because as an actor, self-doubt is right there.
02:58It's just knocking.
02:59It's knocking.
03:00So when I saw it with an audience, it was just really special.
03:03It was really special.
03:03And I felt, the first time when I was alone and I saw that ending with all the different movies and the homages to film,
03:10I've never felt more honored to be in a movie, though, when I was alone.
03:14I was like, I'm in that and we're making a movie about movies.
03:17And, like, I'm so honored to be in that film.
03:20Thank you so much.
03:20It was so nice meeting you.
