'Wicked' swept the box office and potentially the upcoming Academy Awards with 10 nominations. However, one snub has the cast "crying." Director Jon M. Chu was noticeably missing from the film's group of 10 nominations and Michelle Yeoh stopped by 'The View' to spill on how the cast has reacted.

00:00Michelle Yeoh is sharing her reaction to Wicked's Oscar nominations,
00:04saying the cast is filled with joy but also tears.
00:08Among the film's nominations were Best Picture,
00:10Cynthia Erivo for Best Actress,
00:12Ariana Grande for Best Supporting Actress,
00:15Best Costume Design, and Best Original Score.
00:17However, director John M. Chu was shut out of the directing category.
00:21Yeoh, who plays Madame Morrible, stopped by The View
00:23and gave her reaction to the good news.
00:25Yes!
00:27We are all crying.
00:30But we must say, we are also crying because John M. Chu and Alice Brooks,
00:37our DP, were not nominated.
00:38But the rest of us are celebrating.
00:40View co-host Anna Navarro later added,
00:43this is the second time they've passed over John Chu.
00:45He should have been nominated for In the Heights.
00:48Yeoh responded, yes, I agree with you.
00:50This year, Jacques Odillard for Emilia Perez,
00:53Sean Baker for Anora,
00:54Brady Corbett for The Brutalist,
00:57Coralie Fergett for The Substance,
00:58and James Mangold for A Complete Unknown,
01:01rounded out the Best Directing category.
01:03Wicked, which is based on the Broadway musical,
01:05explores the friendship between Erivo's Elphaba,
01:08who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West,
01:10and Grande's Glinda, who becomes Glinda the Good Witch.
01:13However, their friendship reaches a crossroads
01:15following an encounter with the wonderful Wizard of Oz.
01:18The film grossed more than $700 million at the global box office.
