00:00:00Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:00:30Good evening. It's the start of a very busy week in the Premier League
00:00:47and it's been a great day of football. Five games on the way for you tonight.
00:00:51Expect comebacks, late drama and plenty of goals.
00:00:54Joe Hart and Danny Murphy have enjoyed a lively afternoon in the Match of the Day office.
00:00:58As usual, they've got plenty to say, although not to me about the Camel Jumper memo.
00:01:03Manchester City followed defeat at Newcastle last weekend by losing to Leverkusen at home in midweek.
00:01:08Next up was the visit of Leeds United in the bottom three and on a run of three straight defeats.
00:01:14Guy Mowbray was at the Etihad.
00:01:16It's fair to say that the mood amongst Leeds fans at the moment has most of them not expecting much here today.
00:01:23While City fans, well, they could be forgiven for not knowing what to expect.
00:01:27They did think there'd be changes to the team and Pep Guardiola has made nine of them,
00:01:32almost fully reversing his Tuesday night decisions.
00:01:35Tijani Rinder's in for Ray and Shirky.
00:01:38That's the only change from City's last three Premier League starting lineups.
00:01:43For Leeds, five changes.
00:01:44As James Justin, Ilya Gruev, Ayo Tanaka, Dan James and Willy Nyonso come in.
00:01:49Sean Longstaff is out with a calf injury.
00:01:51And on stack due to concussion protocols, Goodmanson, Okafor and Brendan Aronson all drop to the subs bench.
00:02:01If today is going to be the day of his 100th Premier League goal, well, maybe it's just meant to be.
00:02:07As Erling Haaland faces his first love.
00:02:09He was born in Leeds just as his dad, Alfinger, was about to make his own move to Manchester City.
00:02:15So two defeats in a row for City, which has happened before this season.
00:02:21They won the next one 3-0 against Manchester United.
00:02:25And a firm favourites to get the better of Leeds United.
00:02:30Here's Matthias Nunes.
00:02:33Bernardo Silva, Nunes into the box and in behind to put it across for the first goal to be scored.
00:02:39Phil Foden gets it.
00:02:44All of Leeds United's worst fears have just happened.
00:02:49Josco and Guardiol with the ball out to Matthias Nunes.
00:02:53A few eyebrows raised with Daniel Farkas' decision to leave out Gabriel Goodmanson, the regular left-back today.
00:03:00It was down his side.
00:03:02Matthias Nunes into the middle.
00:03:04Foden lifted his left leg at just the right time.
00:03:07And with 59 seconds on the clock, makes Manchin to City 1, Leeds United 0.
00:03:13The Leeds fans will not stand on sentiment if they believe that a change would be best to give their team a chance of staying up.
00:03:21A sizeable number have been very vocally questioning whether Daniel Farka is the right man going forward.
00:03:29That's Guardiol.
00:03:31Matthias Nunes able to wait for it.
00:03:33Nunes knew he had precious little chance of winning it in the air.
00:03:37He has won it on the floor, but he has done that at the cost of a corner.
00:03:45It's Grueff who's got the job of keeping tabs on Haaland as well as Strauch.
00:03:48And it's Guardiol they should have been concerned about.
00:03:51He's headed it back to Foden.
00:03:53Oh, good save.
00:03:55I reckon that might have been going in.
00:03:58Strong hand from Lucas Perry.
00:04:03And it was going in.
00:04:08City go again.
00:04:09Lucas Perry doesn't clear it.
00:04:11And it's in for two.
00:04:13Josko Guardiol.
00:04:15And it's his first of the season.
00:04:19The problems mount.
00:04:22Well, they're not always picture book goals.
00:04:25Lucas Perry stretching.
00:04:27He might feel as though there was a little bit of being impeded by Bernardo Silva.
00:04:31But he wasn't stopped from getting anywhere near the ball.
00:04:34Guardiol with the finishing touch from, what, 20 centimetres out?
00:04:40And Padu.
00:04:42James on the run.
00:04:43James might just have the run here on Guardiol.
00:04:47Guardiol sticks to his task.
00:04:49Here's Nyonto.
00:04:50And now it's Metcha.
00:04:51It's never really on.
00:04:55Would have had to have been pretty much perfect to score from there with that chance.
00:05:00But it was a chance of sorts for Leeds.
00:05:06And again, Doku.
00:05:10Rinders.
00:05:11And again, Doku.
00:05:13And Doku across.
00:05:14It won't reach Haaland.
00:05:15It will come to Bernardo Silva.
00:05:17Bodies on the line for Leeds.
00:05:21Another one before half-time and they're toast.
00:05:24Foden.
00:05:28That's Nico Gonzalez.
00:05:29And Perry keeps it out.
00:05:33Doku.
00:05:37Bernardo Silva.
00:05:40Haaland trying to battle through to the ball.
00:05:42That's Rinders.
00:05:43And another block.
00:05:45Anything in the way will do to keep Leeds hanging on in this game.
00:05:48City very quickly shifted their mood there from passing the ball around to becoming predatory.
00:05:57Bion.
00:06:01Tanaka.
00:06:05Forward by Bogle.
00:06:07Mateus Nunes gives it away.
00:06:11Here's Tanaka.
00:06:11Through to Calvert-Lewin who tries to spin.
00:06:14And he's got the chance again.
00:06:15And he's taken it.
00:06:17Well, there's a Daniel Farker substitution that's worked.
00:06:22And very quickly.
00:06:25Leeds are back in the game.
00:06:28Calvert-Lewin not offside by the time the ball first came his way.
00:06:32You can see that there.
00:06:35Looked as though the chance had gone when he spun and the ball rolled through.
00:06:39But then Mateus Nunes didn't deal with it as he should have done.
00:06:43And he touches it back to Calvert-Lewin who's switched on sufficiently to score.
00:06:47Lucas Perry trying to find Calvert-Lewin.
00:06:56It's going to bounce through to Bogle.
00:06:57Calvert-Lewin again.
00:06:59Oh, is that a risk?
00:07:00It was a risk.
00:07:01But the follow-up is pulled wide.
00:07:04Leeds have got the penalty.
00:07:05They nearly got the goal anyway.
00:07:09Bogle's knock on.
00:07:11Calvert-Lewin against Guardiola was the next thing to happen.
00:07:14And look at that.
00:07:15Nowhere near the ball.
00:07:17Peter Banks just let it run.
00:07:18A moment or two longer to see if Leeds could score anyway.
00:07:21They might now.
00:07:27Metcher puts the ball and himself on the spot.
00:07:32Can he score for a third game in a row and draw Leeds level?
00:07:37Saved by Donnarumma.
00:07:39But it is straight back to Lucas Metcher,
00:07:41who is not missing the second chance.
00:07:44And Leeds have got a second chance in this game.
00:07:49The former Manchester City hopeful.
00:07:52Leeds even more hopeful.
00:07:55They won't settle for one point.
00:07:57Not the way this half has gone.
00:08:00What happens next?
00:08:02This really could go either way.
00:08:11Foden across the docker.
00:08:12Docker gets half a yard.
00:08:16Perry gets a hand to it.
00:08:18Oh, it's sliced.
00:08:19It's not decisive, that, from Strauch.
00:08:21But it has gone behind for a corner.
00:08:24He nearly mugged it into his own net.
00:08:27Anxious moment for Pascal Strauch.
00:08:29Foden.
00:08:31Foden.
00:08:32Here's Guardiola.
00:08:40Here's Guardiola.
00:08:42Docku.
00:08:44Docku with a run at Bogle.
00:08:46Really good cross!
00:08:47Saved by Lucas Perry.
00:08:49Omar Mamouche with the header.
00:08:53Got the direction, lacked the power.
00:08:56He might not get a better chance.
00:09:02There will be at least ten minutes added on.
00:09:05We're into the first of them.
00:09:06Foden.
00:09:14Ruben Diaz.
00:09:18Mateus Nunes getting closer.
00:09:22Cherky.
00:09:24Foden.
00:09:24Foden's effort!
00:09:29Foden's goal!
00:09:35Leeds' heart's broken.
00:09:39The player who started it all might have just finished it.
00:09:45Brilliantly done by Phil Foden.
00:09:48Forced away from goal at first.
00:09:50With a couple of touches later,
00:09:54he still knew there was a gap to go for.
00:09:57And that is as precise as it gets.
00:10:00Manchester City 3, Leeds United 2.
00:10:04We had this belief before the game, during the game,
00:10:07and right now even after the game.
00:10:09So otherwise you can't come back after such a first half tunnel
00:10:12and deliver such a performance and come so close,
00:10:15perhaps even to win it here.
00:10:17So missing is the clinical edge up front
00:10:19or perhaps the last final save or the last final tackle.
00:10:22If we can add this, then I'm 100% convinced.
00:10:25We have more than enough also to win the points that we need.
00:10:29You work so hard to get yourself back in a good position in the game
00:10:32and I think we perhaps could have managed the game a little bit better at times
00:10:35and if you know what City are like,
00:10:38they dominate the ball and then it's waves and waves of attack
00:10:40and they've got good players that can punish you.
00:10:42But to do what we did, we can take confidence from it,
00:10:45but ultimately it's the points that matter.
00:10:47Today, and in every game, you need Phil Foden to be sparkling like he did.
00:10:51Just what sort of composure does it take to find that finish
00:10:54when he did in the way that he did?
00:10:57It's the first time we saw that.
00:10:58It's not the first time.
00:11:00Since they came up with us, I have done it a thousand million times.
00:11:04A thousand, thousand million times I've done it.
00:11:06So, in that terms, he's absolutely, absolutely, I know, we know the quality,
00:11:13you know, can shoot strong and is able to put the ball simply to the net.
00:11:17I've always found myself in them situations where it's very tight on the edge of the box
00:11:21and I only had one thought in my head is just try and get the shot off,
00:11:24especially them late stages, just try and get anything on it.
00:11:27And, yeah, thankfully, when it hit the back of the net, there was, yeah, great feeling.
00:11:33Well, he got them going very quickly today and he ended up finishing it all off,
00:11:36but he got them out of jail, Joe, as well.
00:11:38Yeah, he got them out of jail, but he got them out of jail with absolute quality.
00:11:42His first-half performance, he was absolutely purring.
00:11:46Stepped up for Manchester City.
00:11:47Look, he'll be aware of the noise around Erling Haaland being a one-man show up front.
00:11:51And they're not. They're not Manchester City.
00:11:53But, in fairness, this is the position he takes up.
00:11:56Haaland just leads with adamant that Haaland wasn't scoring today.
00:12:00But when you do make that decision, you leave people like Phil Foden free,
00:12:0512 yards out, such a brilliant cushioned finish.
00:12:07Beautiful finish, in fact.
00:12:09Talk about that Haaland factor.
00:12:13Strauq and Justin at the back post.
00:12:15They're obsessed with him.
00:12:17Phil Foden's an intelligent player.
00:12:19Doku, absolutely beautiful pass.
00:12:21Very, very unlucky, but dangerous.
00:12:23The first-half, Manchester City, they really were purring.
00:12:26Another great example here of the Erling Haaland effect
00:12:30and Phil Foden benefiting from it.
00:12:32All the players around him, it goes through.
00:12:34This is the perfect position for Phil Foden to be stepping onto
00:12:37with a player of his quality.
00:12:38It's actually an incredible block.
00:12:40And at this point, you thought, like, how many goals is it going to be?
00:12:43This is one of the best one-twos I think I've seen this season.
00:12:46Just sets himself with Guardiol.
00:12:48Technique, that ball's bobbling.
00:12:50Beautiful, brilliant save.
00:12:51And that actually resulted in the goal.
00:12:53But this is it.
00:12:54In the 91st minute, 14 players in that box.
00:12:58Leeds defending with their lives.
00:12:59He's constantly checking, how can I create space?
00:13:02How can I create space?
00:13:04Cherky knows he's got to get it to his man.
00:13:05He's sat in the pocket, ready to win the game for him.
00:13:08He's managed to get himself eight yards.
00:13:09Strike breaks out.
00:13:10It's not a good first touch, actually.
00:13:12Shimmy, shimmy.
00:13:13And then a beautiful finish.
00:13:14And I'm not being funny.
00:13:15Vision, they talked about it here.
00:13:17I am not seeing a shot.
00:13:18He's facing away from goal.
00:13:20He's got that many bodies in front of him, but his composure, and then the way that he just strikes this ball through the bodies, absolutely no chance.
00:13:28Brilliant finish.
00:13:29Absolute match winner.
00:13:31Brilliant display.
00:13:32Erling Haaland, you mentioned him a lot there, but Phil Fogh's touch map, pretty impressive.
00:13:37Oh, he was everywhere.
00:13:38And you could tell he was really enjoying today.
00:13:40You know, Etihad was his dance floor.
00:13:42Getting on the ball, he won't enjoy those red dots, but ultimately there is goals.
00:13:45So he goes on in his search for his hundredth goal, Haaland.
00:13:48But today, that win was vital for them in terms of keeping up with the chasing pack, with Chelsea and Arsenal playing tomorrow.
00:13:55Oh, it was a massive win, Gavin.
00:13:57I think, by hook or by crook, the performance was secondary.
00:14:00The points was all that mattered after a disappointing loss at Newcastle last week.
00:14:04But to give up the chances they did last weekend and in the second half today, and a lot of mistakes, actually,
00:14:10they're going to have to eradicate them if they want to stay with Arsenal.
00:14:12Because Daniel Farker made some great substitutions that had an immediate impact for Leeds.
00:14:16But actually, City were the architects of their own downfall, weren't they?
00:14:19Yeah, I think City were really disappointed with how they started the second half.
00:14:23Like I say, first half, they were so dominant.
00:14:25They had so many chances.
00:14:27Donnarumma, so calm in the first half.
00:14:29That's not a good decision from the big man.
00:14:30And immediately, he just sent the cat among the pigeons.
00:14:33I think someone like a Calvert-Lewin coming on, it does change your thinking as a centre-half and as a full-back.
00:14:38Nunes, that we all know, he's not naturally a defending player.
00:14:43But I think Leeds came out on the front foot, as we talked about Farker.
00:14:47So he didn't have an option there.
00:14:48Not a good touch from Calvert-Lewin.
00:14:50But Nunes, he's got two other options there that can eradicate any chance for Calvert-Lewin.
00:14:56He can't believe his luck.
00:14:57Absolutely no problem with this.
00:14:59Difficult pass into midfield.
00:15:01His teammates get him out of luck.
00:15:03Now here, the Manchester City way.
00:15:04Does he set Donnarumma or does he go old school?
00:15:07Smash it out for a throw-in and deal with it from there.
00:15:09He ends up doing nothing.
00:15:10Calvert-Lewin, like I say, can't believe his luck.
00:15:13Gvardiol, excellent player.
00:15:15There's absolutely no need for him to try and...
00:15:17He's trying to get his body and turn with the ball.
00:15:19I don't know what he's trying to do there.
00:15:20He can just put that out for a corner.
00:15:22But City were rattled at this point.
00:15:24Blatant penalty.
00:15:25And it allows Leeds back into the game.
00:15:27And a team like Leeds giving them confidence.
00:15:29To hang on.
00:15:29They made it very difficult.
00:15:30Yeah, and they, of course, now have had four straight defeats in a row.
00:15:34The noise will start to grow.
00:15:36The pressure will start to grow around Daniel Farker.
00:15:38It's that time of the season, isn't it?
00:15:40It is.
00:15:40But the last couple of games, the level of performance has been good.
00:15:44They can take...
00:15:44The players are playing for him.
00:15:46They've been in a lot of games.
00:15:47Yeah.
00:15:47They've lost points late in games.
00:15:50I think four or five points.
00:15:51They've lost that 90-minute-plus mark.
00:15:53And I think if the fans just are a bit more patient...
00:15:56Not more patient, but stick with them a bit longer, this team are getting better.
00:15:59I know they've got some tough fixtures coming up, but they can take a lot of heart from that second-half performance.
00:16:03He did comment in his post-match interviews about the time-out.
00:16:07It was at 2-1 when Donnarumma went down.
00:16:11Unfortunate little hamstring strain that was going on there, it would seem.
00:16:15He's saying this is not sporting.
00:16:16It's within the rules, and he feels that it was clearly, for him, an orchestrated moment that they could get together and have a huddle.
00:16:23And they did.
00:16:24All the City players came in and had a huddle at that point, and they stopped Leeds' momentum.
00:16:29You mean a tactical meeting?
00:16:30A tactical meeting that he felt perhaps is not in the spirit of the game.
00:16:35Well, I don't know how he's medically allowed to say that Donnarumma wasn't injured.
00:16:39He might have been feeling his hamstring, but it's not something that we haven't seen before.
00:16:43And you don't win that many Premier Leagues and that many titles without knowing the rules.
00:16:47Although he was all right when he ran to celebrate the goal like an Olympic sprinter.
00:16:51Very good physios, Dan.
00:16:52Yeah, good physios.
00:16:53I think they can change it really quickly.
00:16:55If a keeper goes down injured, instead of him having to go off for the minute,
00:16:59the plow 30 seconds, wherever it is, one of the outfield players goes off, then it's fair all round.
00:17:03It's a little change that will make the world a difference.
00:17:05A little tweak.
00:17:05A little tweak.
00:17:06OK, to the stadium of light next.
00:17:08Sunderland and Bournemouth level on points and both without a win in their last three.
00:17:13Met up knowing a victory for either of them would take them into the top four.
00:17:17Commentary comes from Tom Gale.
00:17:18Sunderland's unbeaten start here at home has their fans reveling in being tagged as a tough place to go.
00:17:27Dan Ballard makes his 100th appearance for the club.
00:17:30Former Sunderland boss Sam Allardy says Granit Xhaka is the best defensive midfielder in English football.
00:17:36Bournemouth's only away victory so far came back in August at Spurs.
00:17:41I mean, Adli makes just his second Premier League start.
00:17:44Antoine Semenya returns following illness and injury.
00:17:48Six goals already but haven't scored since early October.
00:17:52Not a fixture steeped in history this one.
00:17:59Just the 11th meeting overall between these two and their fifth in the top flights.
00:18:04Semenya, can he benefit here?
00:18:13Low ball in, it's a great one!
00:18:14Oh, it's off the frame of the goal and followed up by Adli!
00:18:19Bournemouth strike first at the Stadium of Lights.
00:18:22And it's the man brought into the starting line-up, Amin Adli,
00:18:27who gets his first goal for the club.
00:18:30There is a bit of fortune here.
00:18:32That slip allows Semenya to bring Bournemouth forward.
00:18:38What a ball in to Evan Nielsen.
00:18:40He can't finish but on the follow-up, Adli's alive and he makes no mistake.
00:18:47Sunderland 0, Bournemouth 1.
00:18:50Reyn Ilda, hands in the cross towards Isidore, the keeper did well, under pressure.
00:18:56Le Fay, heavy touch.
00:18:57It will be a Sunderland corner.
00:19:02Le Fay's side have just scored one goal so far from a corner.
00:19:12They go short.
00:19:15Poor lay-off from Talby.
00:19:19He's recovered well, though.
00:19:21Oh, no.
00:19:22A gifted Bournemouth possession.
00:19:25Adams goes for goal.
00:19:27He spotted Ruse off his line!
00:19:32What a sensational goal that is from the American.
00:19:36He doesn't score many.
00:19:38And I think he'll probably admit he might never score a better one in his career.
00:19:42Take about Tyler Adams.
00:19:47This all comes from a Sunderland corner.
00:19:51Poor lay-off from Talby.
00:19:54The American looks to his left, spots the keeper off his line and thinks,
00:19:57I'll go for this.
00:19:58Robin Ruse is scrambling back in despair.
00:20:01He's on the receiving end of a Premier League Classic goal from Tyler Adams.
00:20:08Sunderland 0, Bournemouth 2.
00:20:10Traore squeezes it through to the fair.
00:20:19Traore trying to get in behind True Fair.
00:20:22Sunderland throw.
00:20:27That's going to be the first Sunderland long throw of the afternoon.
00:20:31To be taken by Nourdi and Nuki L.A.
00:20:33It's allowed to bounce.
00:20:38Isidore feels as though he's been held.
00:20:42Semenyo can't get away from Le Fay.
00:20:45There's a Bournemouth player down inside the 18-yard box.
00:20:49The attack is still coming.
00:20:51Reynaldo goes down.
00:20:52He wants a penalty.
00:20:53And the referee agrees.
00:20:58Bournemouth are in disbelief.
00:21:00Referee Tim Robinson allowed himself a little bit of time to process this.
00:21:05And he deems that challenge by Alex Scott from behind.
00:21:10That's sufficient to award a spot kick.
00:21:13VAR say that Reynaldo's stepping across into the path of the ball.
00:21:18Contact from behind.
00:21:19So it is a correct decision to award Sunderland the spot kick.
00:21:24So Sunderland's second penalty of the season.
00:21:29It was Enzo Le Fay who tucked away his spot kick against Grenfell here back in August.
00:21:37He's looking to drag his team back into this match.
00:21:41Le Fay.
00:21:45No mistake.
00:21:50Regis Labrice unmoved but delight amongst those home supporters.
00:21:56The goalkeeper does go the right way but Bournemouth's advantage has been halved.
00:22:01Sunderland one.
00:22:02Bournemouth two.
00:22:03Sunderland.
00:22:06Traore.
00:22:08Start by Tavernier.
00:22:11Xhaka.
00:22:13Have another go here.
00:22:14No.
00:22:15Disguise back to Xhaka.
00:22:17Crowd wanting him to shoot.
00:22:18Picks out Traore.
00:22:19Go slow!
00:22:20Go slow!
00:22:24Inside the opening.
00:22:2660 seconds of the second half.
00:22:30Sunderland draw themselves level.
00:22:32And it's a first ever goal in Sunderland colours for Bertrand Traore.
00:22:40Good disguise on this to pick out Traore.
00:22:44It's tight.
00:22:45He beats the goalkeeper at the near post.
00:22:49Sunderland two.
00:22:50Bournemouth two.
00:22:52And that certainly got the crowd up just the start they wanted from a home perspective.
00:22:58Semenya gets away.
00:23:01Goes low and it's there!
00:23:02It deflects and finds its way into the back of the net.
00:23:06But the assistance flag has been raised.
00:23:10Bournemouth's joy is short-lived.
00:23:13Semenya finds a way through.
00:23:17It comes off Alderate.
00:23:17And is that going in before Evan Nielsen gets a touch?
00:23:26Radley.
00:23:29Free-kick Sunderland.
00:23:31Radley's not impressed.
00:23:33Smith goes down unchallenged.
00:23:43It will be a Sunderland corner.
00:23:46But Adam Smith will approach to get back to his feet.
00:23:51Rundle makes contact with the Bournemouth man.
00:23:55That's why he's gone down, but back to his feet and defending a Sunderland corner.
00:24:02Lefebvre, his corner.
00:24:05Robbie!
00:24:08Off the bench as Sunderland come from behind to lead against Bournemouth.
00:24:14Regis Lebris is giving nothing away, but it's goals in back-to-back home games for the Dutchman.
00:24:24Lovely delivery from Lefebvre.
00:24:27He's moving away from goal, the number nine is being held.
00:24:32Uses the momentum of the football to guide it away from Petrovic.
00:24:37Who saw this coming after the opening 15 minutes?
00:24:41Sunderland three, Bournemouth two.
00:24:48Rundle back to Sanessi.
00:24:53Brooks.
00:24:54On his left.
00:24:56Cook stands up the cross.
00:24:59Still not cleared.
00:25:00Tavernier off the ball!
00:25:05Mundell gets there.
00:25:07He's all alone, though.
00:25:09Needs some help.
00:25:14Does really well there, the youngster.
00:25:19Sunderland is not happy with something, and he's being shown a yellow card.
00:25:24I don't think Bournemouth can actually believe the way this game has panned out.
00:25:32Kruppi.
00:25:32True fair.
00:25:33True fair.
00:25:37Brooks surely going to be shown a yellow card.
00:25:41Bournemouth are starting to lose the clock.
00:25:45They can't believe how this game has got away from them.
00:25:48It's a rugby tackle.
00:25:54Mugfiele has been shown a yellow card.
00:25:59David Brooks shown the Bournemouth yellow card.
00:26:02I can't see why David Brooks has any complaints.
00:26:05Jacket backs into his man.
00:26:18No, he doesn't.
00:26:21The referee saw that as a Sunderland free kick.
00:26:28Lewis Cook has been shown a red card.
00:26:31This is the reason why that forearm into Noah Siddiqui, violent conduct, and his dismissal surely ends any Bournemouth hopes of salvaging something from this afternoon.
00:26:47Sunderland 3, Sunderland 3, Bournemouth 2.
00:26:51It's very difficult to keep your head leveled.
00:26:55I think everyone supporting Bournemouth today would have not a yellow card, a red card.
00:26:59Everyone looking at the game, how the game has gone and how the referee was calling everything.
00:27:04I had one, Tommy had one, Sean had one on the bench.
00:27:07You are in the Premier League, you try to keep your level headed, you try to go over these things, but he's basically lost control absolutely of the game.
00:27:15I understand, it's a great stadium atmosphere, everyone pushing, putting, but I don't think you can lose the control of the game like it happened today.
00:27:22This league is really demanding.
00:27:24You make two mistakes and you get finished very quickly, coming from 2-0 down and winning this game at the end, I think it's a big achievement.
00:27:33It shows once again that this team has a strong character, they are never beaten, they want to fight.
00:27:42So after these two goals, I think many teams can give up, but it wasn't the case for us today.
00:27:48Yeah, and it's the first time in 177 attempts that Sunderland have come back from a two-goal deficit in the Premier League to go on and win.
00:27:58So that, if nothing else, tells you just about the fight in this team, and what a game.
00:28:03Well, I got lucky today because Joe had first choice, so I got this game, but I was so pleased.
00:28:09It was incredible.
00:28:11Two great teams playing with energy, freedom, going toe for toe.
00:28:15Sunderland deserved credit as well for that because they went to a back four to get more men forward on the pitch.
00:28:21But one player in particular, Le Fay, for Sunderland, was the main instigator in the comeback.
00:28:26He was terrific.
00:28:27This game could have been 4-4, 5-5, but this is at 2-0, pushing on to try and get back in the game, committing men forward.
00:28:34And as you see here, Le Fay, as you want, fighting for your team, winning tackles isn't his forte.
00:28:39He's more of a flair player.
00:28:40We know that nice and positive with his passing.
00:28:42And this is the contentious penalty.
00:28:46Ray Niel, though, gets fouled, we think, initially.
00:28:49And when you watch it again, it's soft.
00:28:50He puts his leg across.
00:28:52Scott, yes, he's a bit stupid to dive in.
00:28:54Shouldn't really give the referee a decision to make, but he's looking for it, and they decide to give it.
00:28:59And once he's given it, VAR weren't going to change it.
00:29:01And then Le Fay hits a beautiful penalty under pressure to give them the impetus down, get the fans behind them.
00:29:07This is what Sunderland's about, winning the ball back, working together, hunting in packs.
00:29:12And there's your man again.
00:29:13Great strike, inches away from getting his team back in.
00:29:16This is the first minute of the second half.
00:29:17Of course, Bournemouth are going to be disappointed.
00:29:19Traore was terrific, caused a lot of problems.
00:29:22Xhaka again, the calming influence in there, getting them passing.
00:29:26And Le Fay is well involved.
00:29:28Brilliant move, 2-2.
00:29:29And then, all of a sudden, the fans are up.
00:29:32They feel like they can win it.
00:29:33Again, it was end-to-end.
00:29:34Bournemouth contributed, I have to say that, to a wonderful game.
00:29:38Lovely little pass from Le Fay.
00:29:39He's so confident with that.
00:29:40He wants to take responsibility.
00:29:42Robby's there off the bench.
00:29:44Just missed that one, but here he is, super sub.
00:29:47Quality of the corner from Le Fay again.
00:29:50And the header from Robby's terrific.
00:29:52Two winners in two weeks.
00:29:54And the stadium is just ecstatic.
00:29:56It was amazing to see.
00:29:59This team that have come up who nobody gave a chance, including me,
00:30:03now sitting in a wonderful position in the Premier League.
00:30:05And that manager deserves great failure.
00:30:07As we finish November, you know, December next week,
00:30:09they are fourth.
00:30:10Well, they're in the top four of the table,
00:30:13which, you know, it just must feel like heaven to Sunderland fans.
00:30:16And that home form that we just showed you there is largely why.
00:30:19If you can make home a fortress, as they are at the moment,
00:30:23then you stand yourself in a very, very good position, don't you?
00:30:26Yeah, that's incredible what's going on today.
00:30:28And it was absolutely rocking.
00:30:29That's the kind of place that enjoys those wet and windy conditions.
00:30:32To go 2-0 down and still believe in what we're doing with absolute quality.
00:30:36Credit to them.
00:30:36They're really establishing themselves this season.
00:30:39And they're a joy to watch.
00:30:40The games are really, really enjoyable.
00:30:41Yeah, next time you can bag see it.
00:30:45OK, Newcastle still without an away win so far this season,
00:30:49went to Everton, who won at Old Trafford
00:30:51in an eventful encounter on Monday night.
00:30:53And maybe Moyes has never won at Old Trafford as the visiting manager.
00:31:02It's all kicking off within the Everton players here,
00:31:05and a red card has been shown.
00:31:07How ludicrous is this?
00:31:11Deuce Rehaul on the half-turn is away from Fernandes.
00:31:14And then bends it beautifully into the top corner.
00:31:20Six, he's headed out.
00:31:21What a save, Capeford.
00:31:23Everton have done it.
00:31:25David Moyes has tasted success at Old Trafford.
00:31:29Your commentator at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Steve Bauer.
00:31:33Spurs are the only team to win here at Everton's new home,
00:31:36as David Moyes' team aim for three league wins in a row
00:31:39without the suspended Adrissa Garnaguet and injured Seamus Coleman.
00:31:43So Iribunum and O'Brien are in.
00:31:46Newcastle, who've now got nine Premier League away games without a win,
00:31:50ring the changes,
00:31:51including a Premier League debut for the club in goal for Aaron Ramsdale.
00:31:55Nick Pope isn't in the squad due to injury.
00:31:58Byrne, Miley and Alanga, also all-star.
00:32:01So Everton get us in the way, unbeaten in the last four Premier League meetings against Newcastle United.
00:32:13That's the first challenge for the returning Dan Byrne.
00:32:17Well, it wasn't a free kick.
00:32:19And that challenge with Barry, here's Voltermeyer.
00:32:22Into the path of Alanga.
00:32:25Who was able to get a shot in, and Jordan Pickford had to make sure by turning that round for a corner.
00:32:31And Alanga here burst through, less than 30 seconds into the game.
00:32:36Early first corner.
00:32:38Into a pack of players and in!
00:32:45It's Malik Chow.
00:32:48With his very first Newcastle goal, just a minute into the game.
00:32:53Good leap from the German.
00:33:01Got there first and guided it past Pickford.
00:33:05Off the mark.
00:33:07In a Newcastle shirt.
00:33:10And that Newcastle goal, after 55 seconds,
00:33:13the fastest of this Premier League season so far.
00:33:15Well, early cross from him.
00:33:22Barnes!
00:33:25Really important challenge from Michael Keane.
00:33:28Harvey Barnes, the top scorer, bang in form.
00:33:31With a clear sight of goal, with a really good stretch from Keane.
00:33:35And that was being good to him, 7 points from 9 so far.
00:33:40And Kalenko to float it in.
00:33:42Top scorer stayed forward, little layoff to Michael Keane.
00:33:45He's been deflected.
00:33:46And deflected over.
00:33:48Well, the two central defenders linking up well there.
00:33:55His 48th birthday today.
00:33:58Eddie Howe.
00:33:59What a present.
00:34:00A positive result here would be on the road.
00:34:05Alanga.
00:34:07Brown-Mikalenko.
00:34:09And where she's for Keane, but it's back now with Liveramento.
00:34:12Barnes.
00:34:13Couldn't find Volta Marder.
00:34:15The skewed effort from Liveramento.
00:34:17Miley!
00:34:212-0 Newcastle.
00:34:25Lewis Miley's third Premier League goal.
00:34:27He was initially miscued by Liveramento there, came back to Miley.
00:34:36Oh, and Pickford will be disappointed.
00:34:39That was straight at him, and that is an error.
00:34:43But Newcastle were mined, because the team with the travel sickness,
00:34:47nine Premier League games without a win, are now two goals to the good.
00:34:52Ilanga ahead of Irabunum.
00:35:00Volta Marder for three-nil!
00:35:03Brilliantly taken.
00:35:06Well, after four Premier League games without a goal,
00:35:08the Germans back on the score sheet.
00:35:11And that could be a killer goal already at this stage.
00:35:14And what a scoreline for the visitors.
00:35:18Too easy for Ilanga there.
00:35:21And where was the marking with Volta Marder?
00:35:23But then, a very cool finish.
00:35:27From the big German.
00:35:28And this is a long way back already now, for Everton.
00:35:34Right on the stroke of half-time.
00:35:373-0 down.
00:35:45Dewsbury Hall.
00:35:48Grealish against Liveramento.
00:35:51Liveramento sticking to the task in hand.
00:35:55It's an Everton corner.
00:35:58Garner with it.
00:36:04Well kept out.
00:36:06Alcaraz!
00:36:10He'll crash that against the woodwork.
00:36:13I'll tell you something, I think Ramsdale
00:36:15produced a fantastic stop there
00:36:19to prevent it going over the line.
00:36:21Watch Ramsdale here.
00:36:22It might have even been Harvey Barnes
00:36:24who got to this first.
00:36:26Either way, it was hugely effective
00:36:29before Alcaraz crashed it against the woodwork.
00:36:34It was Barnes.
00:36:35Right on the line.
00:36:38Well, just to clear this up,
00:36:39might have struck Harvey Barnes' arm slightly there,
00:36:42but tucked in in a natural position.
00:36:44What a lovely ball from Hall.
00:36:52Pickford's back, scampering, and he's denied Barnes in the end.
00:36:56Because there was a split second of uncertainty there from the Everton goalkeeper.
00:37:02And then stood strong
00:37:03and denied Newcastle's top scorer.
00:37:07Miley with it.
00:37:10Well defended by Michelenko.
00:37:13Back in from Miley.
00:37:14Burn lurking.
00:37:16Burn lurking.
00:37:16Woltamada.
00:37:17Denied by Pickford.
00:37:20Oh, we can't keep that one out, though.
00:37:324-0 Newcastle.
00:37:35And two of them scored by Malik Chao.
00:37:38The second lowest scorers away from home in the Premier League
00:37:43have hit four.
00:37:45Well, initially, it was nearly four here.
00:37:49Pickford touches it.
00:37:51Tarkovsky blocks it.
00:37:53But Everton knew the danger.
00:37:55Wasn't clear.
00:37:57Back in from Lewis Hall.
00:37:59And it's another fine header
00:38:01from Malik Chao.
00:38:04His highest ever in a season
00:38:06is two.
00:38:08And he's leveled with that
00:38:10in less than an hour here.
00:38:19Michelenko's cross.
00:38:20Barry waiting.
00:38:21Burn blocking.
00:38:22Barry scoring!
00:38:24Well, it's only a consolation in terms of today.
00:38:28But it's a huge moment for Tierno Barry
00:38:30who finally has his first Everton goal.
00:38:36Now, then, the only problem is
00:38:37does he head this
00:38:38onto his hand
00:38:41before he swivels and
00:38:43slices it in?
00:38:46The AR are checking this
00:38:48because, of course,
00:38:50if it does hit his hand
00:38:51and lead to a goal,
00:38:52it will not stand.
00:38:55And it isn't going to stand.
00:38:57So the weight
00:38:58goes on.
00:38:59Lifted forward by Tarkovsky.
00:39:09Tewsbury Hall,
00:39:10fabulous take and goal!
00:39:14That's a goal of the highest quality.
00:39:17And Everton do have one back this time.
00:39:21His second in a week,
00:39:22his third in Everton blue.
00:39:24What a first touch.
00:39:28And a very cool one
00:39:29into the back of the net as well.
00:39:31Look at that first touch.
00:39:34Everton one,
00:39:35Newcastle four.
00:39:37Massive win for us.
00:39:38First away win of the season.
00:39:39We needed it.
00:39:40We've been chasing it
00:39:41and it's been elusive so far.
00:39:44But that was a big moment today
00:39:45and a really good performance
00:39:46as well from the players.
00:39:48I thought we looked solid.
00:39:49I thought we looked physically really good,
00:39:51which was a tough test after Marseille.
00:39:53Manik, very well done.
00:39:54How good does that feel?
00:39:55Amazing, amazing performance
00:39:56from the team.
00:39:58Yeah, just happy
00:39:59to take the three points
00:40:00to me personally as well
00:40:02to score two goals.
00:40:02Amazing feeling.
00:40:04They told me it was
00:40:04the fastest goal this season
00:40:05in the Premier League.
00:40:06I didn't know.
00:40:07But yeah, I think
00:40:08it put us into a good position
00:40:09to start the game.
00:40:10We were beaten by a far better team.
00:40:12Much more experienced looking team.
00:40:14Certainly much more powerful team
00:40:15than we were.
00:40:16Got onto our back line too quickly.
00:40:18Counter-attacked us, you know.
00:40:20You can see the experience
00:40:21they're gaining
00:40:22from playing the European games
00:40:23as well, you know,
00:40:24where they're keeping teams
00:40:25at bay a little bit
00:40:26and then the speed they've got
00:40:27in the front line is very good.
00:40:29And I thought they'd done that
00:40:30to us tonight.
00:40:32Well, Newcastle United
00:40:33have only scored
00:40:34three goals away all season.
00:40:36They score four today
00:40:38and get that elusive away win
00:40:40they've been looking for
00:40:41since April.
00:40:43And you could see
00:40:44on Eddie Howe's face
00:40:45the huge smile
00:40:46what it meant to him
00:40:47and the team.
00:40:47How did they do it, Danny?
00:40:49Well, they did it
00:40:49with a really good start
00:40:50and a good team performance
00:40:52but I think the main reason
00:40:53was a wonderful performance
00:40:55from two young, exciting
00:40:57and thankfully English full-backs
00:40:59who they haven't had
00:41:00on the pitch enough.
00:41:01They've only started
00:41:01together three times
00:41:03but they gave them
00:41:03a different element
00:41:04going forward.
00:41:05So much more creativity
00:41:07and penetration.
00:41:08Look at Liv Romento
00:41:09early in the game.
00:41:10He's in between the lines.
00:41:11He's bursting past people
00:41:12and he's onto the Everton
00:41:13back line.
00:41:14It's unlucky with the pass
00:41:15but that was setting out
00:41:17his stall.
00:41:17Look at the position
00:41:18he's in.
00:41:19Eric Boonham's occupied
00:41:20by his midfielder.
00:41:21Grealish has lost him
00:41:22because he's expecting
00:41:23his full-back not to be
00:41:24in there.
00:41:25Great little space
00:41:26on the half-turn.
00:41:28Not what you expect
00:41:29from most full-backs.
00:41:30I mean, he's just so dynamic
00:41:32and so adventurous.
00:41:33Plays so free.
00:41:34Gets his team a corner
00:41:35and they've caused
00:41:36a lot of problems
00:41:37down this right-hand side.
00:41:39This is the second goal.
00:41:40I just want you to watch him
00:41:41as the play's building up.
00:41:43When he's here
00:41:46he doesn't stop.
00:41:47Keeps getting involved.
00:41:48Look at that little flick.
00:41:50Doesn't stop again.
00:41:51He ends up centrally.
00:41:52OK, it's a wild shot.
00:41:53But look at the positions
00:41:54he's taken up.
00:41:55He's overloading
00:41:57in forward areas
00:41:58which Everton
00:41:58are struggling with.
00:41:59On the other side
00:42:00we haven't seen enough.
00:42:01We have Lewis Hall.
00:42:02He's a terrific player.
00:42:03Loves to get forward.
00:42:04Gets in these areas so often.
00:42:06Causes problems again
00:42:07for Everton.
00:42:08You've got Grealish and Ndiaye
00:42:09who are super players
00:42:10playing well
00:42:11who've spent most of the time
00:42:12defending because of these two.
00:42:14Again, look at the pair
00:42:15of them this time.
00:42:16This is probably
00:42:17my favourite clip.
00:42:19Talk about away from home
00:42:20being adventurous
00:42:20when you haven't won.
00:42:21Deciding to go for it.
00:42:22Look, when he picks it up here
00:42:24Livramento
00:42:26there's his full-back.
00:42:28The other full-back.
00:42:29Two highest players
00:42:30up the pitch.
00:42:31Trying to play his
00:42:31other full-back in
00:42:33to get in on goal.
00:42:34Gets his shots away
00:42:35just goes over.
00:42:36It's absolutely incredible
00:42:37and the quality
00:42:38he's got with his crossing
00:42:39we've seen before
00:42:40hence the fact
00:42:41he's played for England already
00:42:42and for Newcastle
00:42:43moving forward
00:42:44having these two fit
00:42:45and available to play
00:42:47gives them so much more
00:42:49going forward.
00:42:49It was a terrific performance
00:42:51all round
00:42:51but those two especially.
00:42:52For Everton
00:42:53frustration
00:42:54because they couldn't build
00:42:55on that win at Old Trafford
00:42:56on Monday night.
00:42:57It felt like euphoria
00:42:58on Monday night
00:42:58an incredible result
00:42:59great team effort
00:43:01they probably would have
00:43:02expected to have done
00:43:03a lot better this afternoon
00:43:04but as Danny said
00:43:05Newcastle were out the blocks
00:43:06shocked them
00:43:07I don't think
00:43:08I don't think the team
00:43:08were ready
00:43:09especially after watching them
00:43:10probably in midweek
00:43:10against Marseille.
00:43:11And can we just give a mention
00:43:12to Kiernan Dewsbury Hall
00:43:13and Tyler Adams
00:43:14from earlier on
00:43:15because if he's going to
00:43:15score a Worldie
00:43:16you've got to do it
00:43:17on the winning side.
00:43:18Unbelievable.
00:43:18Richarlison as well
00:43:19from last week.
00:43:19Last week yeah
00:43:20so you're not going to get
00:43:21a good week in terms of goals
00:43:22after Monday night as well.
00:43:24Okay.
00:43:25There are five games
00:43:27on Sunday's

00:45:13Samuel Chukwesi
00:45:14on loan from Milan
00:45:15came off the bench
00:45:16to set up the winner
00:45:17against Sunderland
00:45:18last week
00:45:19and gets his first start
00:45:20in the Premier League
00:45:21this evening
00:45:21in preference to Kevin.
00:45:25Spurs' last win
00:45:26at home in the Premier League
00:45:27was on the opening
00:45:28day of the season
00:45:29which was the last time
00:45:30that Fulham
00:45:31got anything
00:45:32on the road.
00:45:33They secured a point
00:45:34in that opening match.
00:45:35They've been empty-handed
00:45:36ever since.
00:45:37away from the cottage
00:45:38swept forward
00:45:40off the boot of Wilson.
00:45:42Here's Alex Iwobi
00:45:44and now Josh King.
00:45:50Chukwesi
00:45:51Jimenez is in the middle
00:45:53Wilson's up there too.
00:45:58Kenny Tete
00:45:59with a shot
00:45:59which takes a deflection
00:46:00and Fulham ahead
00:46:02in three and a half minutes.
00:46:03well Kenny Tete
00:46:06hasn't scored
00:46:08for two years
00:46:09almost to the day
00:46:11but via a deflection
00:46:12it's his shot
00:46:14that has Fulham ahead.
00:46:17Bergwahl was wrong-footed
00:46:19by the pass
00:46:19Tete
00:46:21blasted it towards the goal
00:46:23Chukwesi
00:46:25Chukwesi
00:46:26lays it off
00:46:27and here you can see
00:46:28it takes a deflection
00:46:29which carries it
00:46:31past the goalkeeper.
00:46:34It's Tottenham
00:46:35hotspur nil
00:46:36Fulham one
00:46:37it deflects off
00:46:38Udogi
00:46:38past
00:46:39Vicario
00:46:40what a start
00:46:43for Marco Silva's team
00:46:44two wins
00:46:46in the last seven
00:46:47in the league
00:46:47for them
00:46:48much needed
00:46:48three points
00:46:49last week
00:46:50against Sunderland
00:46:51and a great start here
00:46:52and now Jimenez
00:46:53and Vicario
00:46:54fully committed
00:46:54has given the ball away
00:46:59and now he's a mile
00:47:01out of his goal
00:47:01as Harry Wilson
00:47:02makes it too
00:47:03oh what an error
00:47:05by Vicario
00:47:06what was he thinking
00:47:08on a play
00:47:10for Harry Wilson
00:47:11the finish was superb
00:47:13and inside
00:47:14six minutes

00:47:17at two down
00:47:18at home
00:47:19the crowd

00:47:26at 2-0 up
00:47:27in this London derby
00:47:30Vicario here
00:47:32decides to hang
00:47:35on to it
00:47:35that's a fantastic
00:47:38finish from Wilson

00:47:41Wilson first time
00:47:43Fulham
00:47:43two up
00:47:44two minutes
00:47:46and 16 seconds
00:47:47between the two goals
00:47:48Tottenham are rattled
00:47:50it fell kindly
00:47:52there for Iwobi
00:47:52looking to make
00:47:53the most of it
00:47:54here's Samuel Chukwesi
00:47:55and still with Chukwesi
00:47:57it's a corner
00:47:59he looks like
00:48:01a very good
00:48:02loan signing
00:48:02for the season
00:48:03for Fulham
00:48:03Samuel Chukwesi
00:48:04taking a little while

00:48:09including last weekend
00:48:10getting a first start
00:48:11today
00:48:12nerves will be really
00:48:15jangling for Tottenham

00:48:17Fulham go anywhere
00:48:18near them
00:48:19Chukwesi
00:48:19oh and it was so close

00:48:26rattles
00:48:27Vicario's post
00:48:29Fulham
00:48:30so close
00:48:32to a 3-0 lead
00:48:33in ten minutes
00:48:34what a night
00:48:37under the lights
00:48:37this could be
00:48:39turning into
00:48:39Menez with a little
00:48:43flick
00:48:43Porro under pressure
00:48:44here's Chukwesi
00:48:45he's round the keeper
00:48:47what a challenge
00:48:48that is by

00:50:27lash it
00:50:27into the
00:50:28back of
00:50:28Fulham's
00:50:29net
00:50:29interesting that
00:50:31Fulham should
00:50:31score two
00:50:32goals in the
00:50:33first six
00:50:33minutes
00:50:34today because
00:50:35they'd only scored
00:50:36four goals in the
00:50:37first half of
00:50:37games all season
00:50:38before coming
00:50:40here
00:50:40more defending
00:50:43for Fulham to
00:50:43do though
00:50:44Porro

00:50:46the near side
00:50:47there was an
00:50:47opportunity for

00:50:49challenged
00:50:50importantly at the
00:50:52final moment by
00:50:53Anderson
00:50:54Tottenham will
00:50:55have another
00:50:55corner as a
00:50:57result
00:50:57Kudus with the

00:51:10visiting side
00:51:11here now
00:51:12Raul Jimenez
00:51:14was in the
00:51:15right place at
00:51:16the right time
00:51:17here to head the
00:51:18ball off the
00:51:18line
00:51:19Fulham
00:51:25winners have
00:51:26just one of
00:51:27their last 15
00:51:28visits to
00:51:29Tottenham in the
00:51:29Premier League
00:51:30still ahead in
00:51:30this one and
00:51:31this is a rare
00:51:32second half
00:51:33attack as
00:51:33Chukwesi
00:51:34handled by
00:51:38Raul Jimenez
00:51:40who is booked
00:51:42for it by the
00:51:43referee
00:51:43he tried to
00:51:46bat that one
00:51:46towards the goal
00:51:47with his
00:51:48hands
00:51:48it's a yellow
00:51:51card for the
00:51:52Fulham striker
00:51:53Petro Poro
00:51:55looking for the
00:51:55run
00:51:55made by
00:51:57Sar
00:51:57Bassey across
00:52:00Anderson away
00:52:02Danso launches
00:52:09this throw
00:52:10and the shot
00:52:13not far wide of the
00:52:19post
00:52:20Polamuani
00:52:21brilliant
00:52:21improvisation and
00:52:23unlucky to see it go
00:52:24just wide
00:52:25Danso with the
00:52:28clearance now
00:52:28but again he can't
00:52:30find a teammate
00:52:31Sander Berger
00:52:32there's the final
00:52:33whistle
00:52:33booze rain down
00:52:35from the home
00:52:36crowd
00:52:36Thomas Frank's team
00:52:39lose at home
00:52:40for the fourth time
00:52:42in the league
00:52:42this season
00:52:43Fulham's first
00:52:44away win
00:52:45of the season
00:52:46their first win
00:52:47at Tottenham
00:52:48in 12 years
00:52:49of course
00:52:52every game plan
00:52:52you have
00:52:53you can throw it
00:52:53out in the bin
00:52:54after six minutes
00:52:55the first one
00:52:56was a deflected
00:52:57go
00:52:57a deflected shot
00:52:58goal
00:52:59and the other
00:52:59one of course
00:53:00a mistake
00:53:01from Vic
00:53:01no problem
00:53:02and I heard
00:53:04some of our fans
00:53:05apparently booed
00:53:05the incident
00:53:06and booed after
00:53:07which in my opinion
00:53:08is completely
00:53:09unacceptable
00:53:10can't be true
00:53:11Tottenham fans
00:53:12that do that
00:53:12well deserved
00:53:13three points
00:53:13big win
00:53:14but very well
00:53:15deserved
00:53:15what a first half
00:53:16from us
00:53:172-0
00:53:18should there be
00:53:19more
00:53:20of the post
00:53:21ball
00:53:211-1
00:53:22with the goalkeeper
00:53:22Schuch
00:53:23some great moments
00:53:25from us
00:53:25what a goal
00:53:26from Harry
00:53:28what a confusion
00:53:29from age
00:53:29and knew
00:53:30and clear
00:53:30that the goalkeeper
00:53:31was not on the goal
00:53:33and the first touch
00:53:34on the ball
00:53:35after the pass
00:53:35from Josh
00:53:36what a finish
00:53:36top last goal
00:53:37from Harry
00:53:37so Thomas Frank
00:53:39saying it's
00:53:40unacceptable
00:53:40for the Spurs fans
00:53:41to boo
00:53:42Vicario
00:53:42obviously there was
00:53:43an edge around
00:53:44tonight
00:53:45wasn't the confidence
00:53:45seemed very low
00:53:46and he was undoubtedly
00:53:47at fault
00:53:48for what turned out
00:53:49to be the winning goal
00:53:50do you understand
00:53:51the fans frustration
00:53:52there
00:53:52I do understand
00:53:54the fans frustration
00:53:55it's obviously difficult
00:53:56I know the role
00:53:56that Vicario is playing
00:53:57he's a great team player
00:53:59he's a real leader
00:54:00in the dressing room
00:54:01but ultimately
00:54:02you're going to be judged
00:54:02by your actions
00:54:03and he was heavily involved
00:54:05in what turned out
00:54:06to be the match winning goal
00:54:07good position really
00:54:08they're already 1-0 down
00:54:10early on
00:54:10so the edge is already
00:54:11in the stadium
00:54:11now people will be asking
00:54:13for him to clear it here
00:54:14I understand
00:54:15and now he's got himself
00:54:16this is when you realise
00:54:17I'm in big trouble
00:54:18do you know what
00:54:19I'll just knock it out
00:54:20I'll get my defenders back
00:54:21and I'll get back in goal
00:54:22but he still wants to try
00:54:24and keep the ball in play
00:54:25that's the modern way
00:54:26that's the modern day goalkeeper
00:54:27screws one up the line
00:54:30but this is brilliant
00:54:31from Fulham
00:54:31King and Wilson
00:54:32immediately realising
00:54:34Tottenham are in massive trouble
00:54:35now King knows
00:54:36what a technician
00:54:37Harry Wilson is
00:54:39so he lays it on a plate
00:54:40look at Harry Wilson
00:54:41when he receives this
00:54:42back to goal
00:54:43but he trusts his left foot
00:54:44he knows he's just got to
00:54:46set that out
00:54:46at the penalty spot
00:54:47and let the curve on the ball
00:54:48do the rest
00:54:49that is an absolute
00:54:50piece of art
00:54:51but from a Tottenham point of view
00:54:53completely avoidable
00:54:54great vision from him
00:54:57yeah absolutely
00:54:58and Thomas Frank
00:54:59now is
00:55:00he's obviously going to feel
00:55:01some kind of pressure
00:55:02with the fans
00:55:03not happy
00:55:03letting their disquiet be known
00:55:05that is now
00:55:06them only having won
00:55:08once at home
00:55:09at the beginning of the season
00:55:10three times
00:55:11this calendar year
00:55:12as well
00:55:13well he's got to take the stick
00:55:14he's taken a
00:55:15high profile job
00:55:16at a huge football club
00:55:17with massive expectation
00:55:18so there's pressure
00:55:20and responsibility
00:55:21that comes with that
00:55:21the performances at home
00:55:23have been poor
00:55:24and they've got to improve quickly
00:55:26he's got a hell of a good squad
00:55:27yet he's got a few players missing
00:55:28but I don't think at the moment
00:55:30he knows his best team
00:55:31or he's not sure
00:55:32on his best formation
00:55:33and that's a problem
00:55:34and the confidence
00:55:35is really low
00:55:36so they've got to keep working hard
00:55:38I mean they had a good go
00:55:38second half
00:55:39and made some chances
00:55:41but
00:55:41yeah for now
00:55:42he's got to ride the criticism
00:55:44he's got to
00:55:44keep working on the training pitch
00:55:46and get that team winning some games
00:55:47at home
00:55:48and on the flip side
00:55:48for Marco Silva and Fulham
00:55:50they'd only had one point
00:55:51on the road this season
00:55:53five straight defeats in a row
00:55:54you know
00:55:55they scored so early
00:55:57in that game as well
00:55:57didn't they
00:55:58really took control
00:55:59of the game
00:56:00scoring the first half
00:56:01isn't something
00:56:01that they've generally been doing
00:56:03so you know
00:56:04that would be a real confidence boost
00:56:05to that squad
00:56:06he'll be really pleased
00:56:07because
00:56:07before last week
00:56:09well the last game against Sondland
00:56:10when they won that
00:56:11there was a little bit of criticism
00:56:12coming his way
00:56:13the team was struggling a bit
00:56:14a lot of talk about his contract
00:56:16two great performances
00:56:17six points
00:56:17everything settles down
00:56:19I actually think Fulham have played better
00:56:21this season
00:56:21than their points tally reflects
00:56:23I think a lot of the Fulham fans
00:56:25now would like to see
00:56:26the contract issue
00:56:28concluded
00:56:28and him signed
00:56:29because he's done a wonderful job
00:56:30okay
00:56:31next up
00:56:32Brentford
00:56:33with four wins
00:56:34from six at home
00:56:35so far this season
00:56:36against a Burnley side
00:56:37in the bottom three
00:56:38and on a run
00:56:39of three straight defeats
00:56:40Connor McNamara
00:56:41watch this one
00:56:42Keith Andrews makes two changes
00:56:47from Brentford's defeat
00:56:48away at Brighton
00:56:49last weekend
00:56:50Aaron Hickey replaces
00:56:52Christopher Iron in defence
00:56:53while Matthias Jensen
00:56:54starts in midfield
00:56:56ahead of Yarmuluk
00:56:57Scott Parker makes two changes
00:56:59for the Burnley team
00:57:00that started against Chelsea
00:57:01last time
00:57:02in midfield
00:57:03Hannibal Mebry
00:57:04makes his first Premier League start
00:57:06since August
00:57:06in place of Ugu Chukwu
00:57:08while Lyle Foster joins the attack
00:57:11preferred to Jaden Antony
00:57:13since their own promotion
00:57:17to the top flight
00:57:18Brentford have had a very strong
00:57:19record against newly promoted
00:57:21sides here at this stadium
00:57:22they've won their last
00:57:23ten in a row
00:57:24scoring at least twice
00:57:26in each game
00:57:27he's very comfortable
00:57:31dropping his shoulder
00:57:32and advancing Nathan Collins
00:57:34plays it up to the defender
00:57:36for a Brentford corner
00:57:37decent whip on that
00:57:45Collins is close
00:57:46very close
00:57:47for Brentford
00:57:48the Brentford captain
00:57:50looking for his first
00:57:51Premier League goal
00:57:52of the campaign
00:57:53close
00:57:54against his former club
00:57:56three defeats in a row
00:57:58before today
00:57:59but Scott Parker says
00:58:00he's still pleased
00:58:01with his team's performances
00:58:02he doesn't believe
00:58:04they're far off
00:58:04where they need to be
00:58:05this is high risk stuff
00:58:09and Jensen's been caught
00:58:10in possession
00:58:11and down goes Hannibal Mebry
00:58:12and Burnley is screaming
00:58:14for a corner
00:58:14but it's going to be a yellow card
00:58:17for the attacking player
00:58:18simulation
00:58:19from Hannibal Mebry
00:58:22he sees yellow
00:58:23for a dive
00:58:25video assistant referee today
00:58:27is Neil Davis
00:58:28they say that is a clear
00:58:30act of simulation
00:58:31no contact
00:58:32from the defender
00:58:33it's a yellow card
00:58:35for diving
00:58:35for Hannibal Mebry
00:58:36Cullen
00:58:38pass from Hannibal Mebry
00:58:43and then Fiorentino's
00:58:44attempt to
00:58:45Fleming was
00:58:45just fractually
00:58:46behind
00:58:47to the intended target
00:58:48Dango Wattaro
00:58:50is able to wriggle free
00:58:51of Fiorentino here
00:58:52this is Mikael Damsgaard
00:58:54can he get the ankle
00:58:55oh he did
00:58:56just couldn't
00:58:58keep the shot down
00:58:59look out Damsgaard
00:59:03who scored against
00:59:04Fuller back in September
00:59:05look at the space
00:59:06he's got here
00:59:07and was able to
00:59:08cut back infield
00:59:09of Cullen
00:59:09Burnley very fortunate
00:59:11that that wasn't
00:59:12in the back of the net
00:59:13Hannibal
00:59:15Walker
00:59:17chance to look up
00:59:20for Hannibal Mebry
00:59:21touch from Shada
00:59:24kept in by Hartman
00:59:28nice interchange
00:59:31between Hartman
00:59:32and Chowder
00:59:33and then a shot
00:59:34on target
00:59:34from Zion Fleming
00:59:36is by far
00:59:37the best
00:59:38that Burnley
00:59:38have offered today
00:59:39that's the most
00:59:42stressful moment
00:59:43that Creepy Keller
00:59:44has had today
00:59:45coming into this weekend
00:59:48only Arsenal
00:59:49and Manchester City
00:59:50have won more
00:59:51Premier League home games
00:59:52this season
00:59:53and only those two teams
00:59:54have scored more
00:59:55home goals this campaign
00:59:56than Keith Andrew's side
00:59:57Django Watara
00:59:59trying to cut it back
01:00:00for Shada
01:00:01again it's Walker's
01:00:02clearance
01:00:02this is Jensen
01:00:03gets it back
01:00:05from Hickey
01:00:05Damsgaard
01:00:07fairly defensive
01:00:10with a lot of pressure
01:00:11at the moment
01:00:11Walker looks to
01:00:12relieve some of that
01:00:13attempted clearance
01:00:16blocked out by Jensen
01:00:17Damsgaard
01:00:18looking for it
01:00:19got Thiago
01:00:20cut out by Esteve
01:00:21this is Coyote
01:00:23and that's very close
01:00:25Coyote
01:00:26scooping it in
01:00:28for Django Watara
01:00:29and the two of them
01:00:30nearly combining
01:00:32at the moment
01:00:34Burnley are hanging on
01:00:35a little bit now
01:00:36this season
01:00:38the GTEC
01:00:39has become
01:00:40one of the Premier League's
01:00:41toughest tests
01:00:42the only visiting team
01:00:43to win here
01:00:43have been
01:00:44Manchester City
01:00:45home support
01:00:46that's getting well used
01:00:47to celebrating
01:00:48home victories here
01:00:49hoping that a late winning
01:00:50goal is going to arrive
01:00:51today
01:00:52it's a good touch
01:00:53Jensen to Damsgaard
01:00:54Ico Thiago
01:00:55took off too early
01:00:56Django Watara
01:00:57was timed his run
01:00:58well bow
01:00:58then a big collision
01:00:59and it's going to be
01:01:00a penalty
01:01:01penalty
01:01:02to Brentford
01:01:04and a glorious
01:01:05chance of a
01:01:06breakthrough
01:01:06yellow card
01:01:08for Axel
01:01:09Tuunzeb
01:01:11it's all been looked at
01:01:11by the
01:01:12video assistant
01:01:13referee
01:01:14does Tuunzeb
01:01:15get a touch of the
01:01:16ball before any
01:01:16collision
01:01:17outcome of this
01:01:18decision could well
01:01:19decide the game
01:01:20penalty
01:01:22is going
01:01:23to stand
01:01:24in the last
01:01:2910 minutes
01:01:30of normal time
01:01:31Ico Thiago
01:01:32who's been the
01:01:33heartbeat of
01:01:34Brentford's attack
01:01:35this season
01:01:36and he puts
01:01:37the keeper
01:01:38the wrong way
01:01:39after just
01:01:4113 league games
01:01:42this season
01:01:43it's the quickest
01:01:44any Brentford
01:01:46player has taken
01:01:47to reach
01:01:4810 goals
01:01:48in a Premier League
01:01:49campaign
01:01:50Hartman

01:02:04the referee
01:02:04points to the spot

01:02:06get a penalty
01:02:07now
01:02:08it's only
01:02:09two minutes
01:02:10since Ico Thiago
01:02:12scored
01:02:12the spot

01:02:14the other
01:02:14end
01:02:14and now
01:02:15Brentford
01:02:16have given
01:02:16a penalty
01:02:17away
01:02:17Zion
01:02:20Fleming
01:02:20can he level
01:02:21things up

01:02:53the penalty
01:02:54a moment ago
01:02:54Henderson
01:02:55that's a really
01:02:55good ball
01:02:56in
01:02:56and Kyle
01:02:57Walker
01:02:57he tried to
01:02:58clear
01:02:58and couldn't
01:02:59and that
01:03:00man again
01:03:01Igor
01:03:02Thiago
01:03:03we went
01:03:0681 minutes
01:03:08in this
01:03:08game without
01:03:09a goal
01:03:10and now
01:03:12there's been
01:03:13three goals
01:03:14in five
01:03:14minutes
01:03:15ruthless
01:03:17finish
01:03:18from the
01:03:19Brazilian
01:03:19Igor Thiago
01:03:21he's now
01:03:22up to 11
01:03:23in the
01:03:23Premier League
01:03:24this season
01:03:25and that
01:03:26is nine
01:03:27goals now
01:03:27in his
01:03:28last eight
01:03:29games for
01:03:29him
01:03:30Rico
01:03:33Henry
01:03:33Damsgaard
01:03:35who's had
01:03:36some glorious
01:03:36touches today
01:03:37here comes
01:03:38Jordan
01:03:38Henderson
01:03:39this
01:03:39can finish
01:03:40it now
01:03:40Watara
01:03:41it's gonna be
01:03:43Brentford's day
01:03:45again
01:03:45the solidity
01:03:47of their
01:03:48home form
01:03:49continues
01:03:50it's a third
01:03:53Premier League
01:03:53goal of the
01:03:54season
01:03:54for Django
01:03:55Watara
01:03:56and didn't he
01:03:57take it
01:03:58well
01:03:58took it
01:04:00around a
01:04:00stab
01:04:01Brentford
01:04:03three
01:04:04Burnley
01:04:05one
01:04:05I thought
01:04:07it was a
01:04:08big win
01:04:08for us
01:04:09we've been
01:04:10pretty good
01:04:11at home
01:04:11so far
01:04:12this season
01:04:12so we
01:04:12wanted to
01:04:13keep
01:04:13that
01:04:14momentum
01:04:14first half
01:04:16I thought
01:04:16the game
01:04:16was a little
01:04:17bit scrappy
01:04:17and not
01:04:19many chances
01:04:20it was a bit
01:04:21of a fight
01:04:21but second
01:04:22half
01:04:22like you
01:04:23say
01:04:23I think
01:04:24we grew
01:04:24into the
01:04:24game
01:04:25we were a
01:04:25bit more
01:04:26patient
01:04:26and forced
01:04:27the chances
01:04:28that we got
01:04:29a bit more
01:04:29and played in
01:04:31their half
01:04:31and thankfully
01:04:32we got our
01:04:33rewards with the
01:04:33goals
01:04:33there's elements
01:04:35to our game
01:04:35at this
01:04:36present time
01:04:36what we need
01:04:37to learn
01:04:37from
01:04:38we need
01:04:38to fix
01:04:38for sure
01:04:39at the start
01:04:40of this season
01:04:40I probably knew
01:04:41what this
01:04:41journey would look
01:04:41like
01:04:42and there's
01:04:43a journey
01:04:44ahead of us
01:04:44where there's
01:04:45going to be
01:04:45some bumps
01:04:46in that
01:04:46journey
01:04:46we need
01:04:47to learn
01:04:47and be
01:04:47brutally
01:04:48honest
01:04:48in our
01:04:48assessment
01:04:48of things
01:04:49and we've
01:04:50got a
01:04:50massive game
01:04:50now on
01:04:51Wednesday
01:04:51and we'll
01:04:52come again
01:04:53Igor
01:04:53Thiago
01:04:53continues to
01:04:55bang in
01:04:55the goals
01:04:5511 now
01:04:56in 13
01:04:57he's been
01:04:57magnificent
01:04:58I thought he
01:04:59was quiet
01:04:59in the first
01:04:59half
01:05:00put on him
01:05:01a little bit
01:05:01of half time
01:05:02wanted him
01:05:03to influence
01:05:03the game
01:05:03a little bit
01:05:04more
01:05:04some of that
01:05:04was down
01:05:04to us
01:05:05not giving
01:05:06them enough
01:05:06service
01:05:06opposition
01:05:07obviously denying
01:05:08that space
01:05:08and opportunity
01:05:09but equally
01:05:10I felt he could
01:05:10impose himself
01:05:11a little bit
01:05:11more on the game
01:05:12he certainly did
01:05:13on the second half
01:05:14yeah it was a game
01:05:15you didn't want
01:05:15to leave early
01:05:16all the goals
01:05:16coming after 81
01:05:17minutes
01:05:18four goals
01:05:19in 12 minutes
01:05:20as well
01:05:21but it's the front
01:05:22four if you like
01:05:23of Brentford
01:05:23the four attacking
01:05:24players that you're
01:05:25really impressed by
01:05:25especially when you
01:05:26consider the players
01:05:27the names that they've
01:05:28lost over the last
01:05:28year and a half
01:05:29or so
01:05:29yeah especially with the
01:05:31with that front three
01:05:32of Wattara
01:05:33Thiago
01:05:33and Shada
01:05:34but Dansgaard
01:05:35fourth season now
01:05:37just linking the
01:05:38play up beautifully
01:05:39they look a real
01:05:40threat going forward
01:05:41it's just lurking
01:05:44in that kind of
01:05:45Phil Foden role
01:05:46looking threatening
01:05:46all the time
01:05:47they look to play to him
01:05:48they allow him to
01:05:49drift into different
01:05:50positions
01:05:50one thing he must love
01:05:52is when he looks up
01:05:53there's his front three
01:05:54there's three threats
01:05:55all the time
01:05:56with a player like him
01:05:58with the quality
01:05:59he'll actually be very
01:05:59disappointed with that
01:06:00but
01:06:00Brentford are relentless
01:06:02they don't just go
01:06:03for one attack
01:06:04if they can turn it
01:06:05over
01:06:05if Burnley
01:06:07dither like they do
01:06:08they're going to
01:06:08keep coming
01:06:09and keep coming
01:06:09and the threat's
01:06:10always in the middle
01:06:11really good header
01:06:12be disappointed
01:06:13that he's missed
01:06:13there
01:06:14Damsgaard on that
01:06:15left hand side
01:06:16just looking to
01:06:16receive on the
01:06:17half turn
01:06:17Thiago stretching
01:06:19as much as he can
01:06:20really good
01:06:21Thiago just takes
01:06:23control here
01:06:23and he just kept
01:06:25knocking on the door
01:06:26kept asking questions
01:06:27and he felt like
01:06:28it was coming
01:06:29turn over
01:06:32Dan's card
01:06:33always on that
01:06:34half turn
01:06:34really good
01:06:35Thiago running
01:06:36always just threats
01:06:37coming from all angles
01:06:38and they've earned
01:06:39that penalty there
01:06:39and what I loved
01:06:41about seeing this
01:06:41penalty is he had
01:06:42a big moment
01:06:43last week
01:06:43saved
01:06:44stepped up
01:06:44cool as a cucumber
01:06:46massive moment
01:06:47for his team
01:06:48obviously got pegged
01:06:49back pretty quickly
01:06:50but this team
01:06:51know what they're
01:06:52doing now
01:06:52we've got that
01:06:52trademark Jordan
01:06:53Henderson around
01:06:54the back
01:06:55as I was talking
01:06:56about before
01:06:56not just one chance
01:06:58relentless
01:06:58keeping on going
01:06:59and we know in the
01:07:00Premier League
01:07:01a one goal lead
01:07:01isn't enough
01:07:03Thiago turning it
01:07:04round the corner
01:07:05here
01:07:05and this is lovely
01:07:06ball into Wattara
01:07:07this is a really
01:07:08composed finish
01:07:09he's really pleased
01:07:10with his work
01:07:10excellent job today
01:07:12from Brentford
01:07:12excellent
01:07:13so Thiago
01:07:15Danny
01:07:16the fastest
01:07:17Brentford player
01:07:18in the Premier League
01:07:19to double figures
01:07:20and he sits
01:07:21with an illustrious
01:07:22list of Brentford
01:07:23players
01:07:23and the names
01:07:24around him
01:07:24he's looking
01:07:26to get into
01:07:27the Brazil squad
01:07:27that's his goal
01:07:28he's got no caps
01:07:29so far
01:07:30the World Cup's
01:07:31the aim
01:07:31has he got a chance
01:07:32he has got a chance
01:07:33because he's unique
01:07:33and he's a bit
01:07:34of an all-rounder
01:07:35he's old school
01:07:36physical
01:07:36but he's got good
01:07:37touch
01:07:37he can run in behind
01:07:38he scores different
01:07:39types of goals
01:07:40he can link up well
01:07:41I think he's got a chance
01:07:42because nobody's
01:07:43really nailed down
01:07:44that number nine
01:07:45for Brazil yet
01:07:46and he's had a terrific
01:07:47start to the season
01:07:48brilliant
01:07:48all credit to him
01:07:49top Brazilian goal scorer
01:07:50in Europe
01:07:51at the moment as well
01:07:52so he should be in the squad
01:07:53yeah
01:07:53okay
01:07:54Danny Murphy says so
01:07:55before we go
01:07:56let's take a look
01:07:57at the Premier League table
01:07:58Manchester City's
01:07:59dramatic
01:08:00late win
01:08:01over Leeds
01:08:02cuts the gap
01:08:03on Arsenal
01:08:04to four points
01:08:05ahead of the Gunners
01:08:05trip to Chelsea
01:08:06on Sunday
01:08:06Sunderland's dream
01:08:07start to life
01:08:08back in the top flight
01:08:08goes on
01:08:09as they rise
01:08:09back up to four
01:08:10defeats for Leeds
01:08:11and Burnley
01:08:12keep them rooted
01:08:12in the bottom three
01:08:13but Fulham
01:08:13open up a six point
01:08:14gap above the relegation
01:08:15places
01:08:16following their victory
01:08:18at Tottenham
01:08:19thank you so much
01:08:21to Danny
01:08:21and to Joe
01:08:22so Foden
01:08:23saved City
01:08:24from a fright
01:08:25to make sure
01:08:25Arsenal aren't out of sight
01:08:27even though Leeds
