Nikki Glaser dishes on her love for Taylor Swift and meeting other Swifties on TikTok while chatting with The Hollywood Reporter at THR's Emmys Nominees Night. Plus, she talks prepping to host the Golden Globes.

00:04doing a Heiress Tour recreation.

00:06I need to know more about these backyard performances with this adorable young

00:10Swifty.

00:10I found this boy, Kellen, on Instagram.

00:13Actually, his neighbor who puts up his stuff saw me on Jimmy Kimmel talking about

00:18my love for Taylor Swift.

00:18So she tagged me in it, and I saw this little boy, and I'm like, he's amazing.

00:21He's nailing all of her moves.

00:23He has a really good voice.

00:24Like, he's a really great talent, and I don't have another Heiress Tour to go to

00:27for a really long time, and they were a couple hours away from this gig I was doing,

00:31and they invited me to go see him.

00:32And I was like, I'll go hang out in your backyard.

00:34So I was one of five people that was in this kid's backyard watching him do a

00:38three-hour Heiress Tour with added songs and nailing it all, and it was so impressive.

00:44It was so fun and so wholesome.

00:45And as someone who doesn't have kids, it made me feel like, it's nice to just make

00:50friends with the, I hopefully will watch that kid grow up, and he'll be a part of my life.

00:56And like, I'm just, it's just nice to meet Swifties.

00:58That's really what it's about.

00:59I just like being around people that care about her as much as I do, and he does.

01:02I love that so much.

01:03I'm also a Swiftie.

01:04That's how I've been seeing these videos.

01:06What's the next show you're going to on the Heiress Tour?

01:08I will be going to Miami.

01:09I'll be going, I have a wedding there in Florida on Saturday.

01:13So I'm going Friday and Sunday.

01:15But like, I would go Saturday too if I could.

01:17But my best friend's getting married, so I guess I have to go to that.

01:20What's your favorite surprise song that you've seen?

01:23It would probably have to be, I mean, you're on your own, kid.

01:27I mean, just singing that with everyone was just so emotional.

01:31And then I think the first time I ever really heard, you know when you hear a Taylor Swift song the first time?

01:38You may have heard it, but you're like, I hear it, like it sinks in.

01:41She played the lucky one when I was front row, and it wasn't a song that I was that familiar with,

01:45because her catalog is so expansive, and I kind of got on 1989 and forward.

01:50I hadn't gone back and really gotten into it.

01:52And that song just like reminds me of my own experience in Hollywood and how it's like a struggle,

01:58and how you sometimes want to run away from it all, and maybe you will, and what would that be like?

02:03And that song really sunk in for me that night, yeah.

02:06You're in an amazing era of your career right now.

02:08What Taylor Swift era would you say describes this era of your career in life?

02:12Oh, that's such a great question.

02:14I think I am in, I'm probably in Lover, because I really love my boyfriend right now,

02:23and I really love my life, and I feel like these things are just going really well for me,

02:29and I'm just like, when's the other shoe going to drop kind of thing?

02:32And like, I just, it's not that I'm listening to that album.

02:34I mean, I'm always listening to that every album, but that's just what, I just, I feel sunny about life,

02:39and excited, and I really feel like in love in my relationship.

02:43And I've been in a relationship with the same person for 11 years, but I'm just now desperately in love with him.

02:49It's just all dawned on me.

02:50I finally understand, I told him, I was like, I don't know, the way I feel about you recently,

02:55like, I hear the song Lover, and it, like, makes more sense to me than it ever did.

02:59And he's like, we've been together 10 years.

03:01Like, I don't know, something else has changed.

03:03I love that, and we're celebrating the Emmys this weekend, but coming up, you're hosting the Golden Globes.

03:08What did you think when they brought that job to you?

03:10Oh, I thought they made a good decision, because I am just, I know what to do to make it great.

03:17I know the amount of work that goes into it.

03:19I take it very seriously, the job at hand.

03:22I think I can strike the right tone of making fun of Hollywood while also just completely being sycophantic over it

03:28and being like, I want you to like me, but also, like, what are we doing here?

03:31I think there's a good mix of that.

03:33And I think enough people that will be there will recognize me, but not really.

03:38So it's a nice, they'll be familiar enough that I'm not a totally fresh face.

03:42I just think it's the perfect timing, and although it scares me, and it's like, oh, my God, it's live,

03:46and it's in front of all these famous people, and it's, you know, a notoriously, like, hard room to do comedy in,

03:51I just feel like my 21-year career has prepared me for this.

03:55Like, just, I've done tough rooms.

03:57I can do this.

03:58And it's, I just feel really ready.

04:00I love that.

04:00Have you reached out to anybody for advice, any previous hosts?

04:03Yeah, you know what, actually, some have reached out to me.

04:06Jimmy Kimmel reached out to me and just offered for me to reach out to him when the time is right,

04:10he and his wife, Molly, and that was so nice, so I will definitely be doing that.

04:13Seth Meyers reached out to me, and I'll be reaching out to Conan.

04:16I'm going to reach out to probably Ricky Gervais.

04:18I'm going to reach out to, seriously, anyone who's ever done anything like this,

04:22because it's just, Chris Rock, like, just anyone who's hosted things that I could possibly get any advice from,

04:28because I just know when I'm in positions to give advice, it's just so nice when someone asks me for it,

04:33and these guys, they've all killed, so, and hopefully I can find some way to get Tina Fey's email

04:39and ask her about it, too, her and Amy.

04:41Yeah, that would be nice.

04:43But, yeah, everyone's so nice.
