00:00We might see a familiar face potentially serving on the jury in Harvey Weinstein's
00:04criminal trial.
00:07Supermodel Gigi Hadid appeared in court on Monday and was among hundreds of New
00:10Yorkers that sat in Judge James Burke's courtroom and told they could potentially
00:14serve as jurors in Weinstein's case.
00:17Reporters covering the Weinstein case were initially instructed not to report on
00:20Hadid's identity as the model could still be called for jury service but were later
00:24granted permission to do so.
00:26On Monday, Burke asked Hadid along with other potential jurors a series of trial
00:30related questions such as whether they know Weinstein, any of his lawyers, any defense
00:34attorneys or any of the people who are expected to be discussed in the case or called as
00:39witnesses.
00:40The model expressed that she has met Weinstein as well as Salma Hayek who claimed she was
00:44sexually harassed by Weinstein and called the former film producer, quote,
00:48my monster.
00:49Burke then reportedly asked Hadid if there was, quote, anything about having met them
00:53that makes you unable to be an impartial juror.
00:56Hadid reportedly responded telling the judge,
00:58I think I'm still able to keep an open mind on the facts, asserting that she could be
01:02objective to the trial despite having met the defendant and one of his alleged victims.
01:07Jurors who have not already been dismissed have been told to return to court on
01:11Thursday for the beginning of the more formal voir dire process.
