The 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' star later admitted he had not actually read the book.
Transcript
00:00You know, I love Captain America, I love the concept of Captain America, but I am so tired of all of this wokeness and anti-Americanism.
00:08Former Superman actor Dean Cain is getting roasted on Twitter for comments he made about the new Captain America comic series on Fox and Friends.
00:16Cain, of course, starred as Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman, in the 90s TV series Lois and Clark, The New Adventures of Superman.
00:22During a recent Fox News segment, the actor and Donald Trump supporter bashed the new The United States of Captain America comic series
00:29due to a line in the first issue that says the American dream for some, quote, isn't real.
00:34Cain took issue with that notion and shared this.
00:36In my opinion, America is the greatest country in history. It's not perfect.
00:41We are constantly striving for a more perfect union, as we all know, but I believe she's the most fair, equitable country ever.
00:47Calling himself a revolutionary for supporting America these days, he added this.
00:51I don't get it. I wonder to myself often, do these people ever travel outside of America?
00:56Do they go to other countries where they have to deal with governments who aren't anywhere near as fair as the United States?
01:02The actor's comments didn't go over well on social media, with many blasting him for his short-sightedness.
01:07Cain later admitted on Twitter,
01:08It's true, I didn't read the comic, but I stand by everything I said.
