Transcript
00:00So hold on, let's talk about the charities.
00:03Like, I don't know what charity anybody got, so...
00:06I really would love to win the money for breast cancer
00:08because my mother had it, and I watched her go through hell.
00:11But she's alive and well, thank God.
00:13What about you?
00:14Mine is called Children of Jamaica.
00:16It's about children who are infected with AIDS,
00:19so that's where my charity is at.
00:21That's wonderful.
00:23As we start opening up to each other about our charities,
00:26it really hit me that, yes, we have to be competitive,
00:29but all of this is for a good cause.
00:32What's yours, Don?
00:33I'm here for Peace Over Violence,
00:35which is a domestic violence charity.
00:38Growing up, I used to watch my mother get hands put on her constantly
00:42from men that she was dating.
00:45So I got like a really, really, really soft spot in my heart
00:48for women that have to deal with that
00:49or kids that have to, you know what I'm saying,
00:51watch it and not understand what's going on,
00:54and you're too small to stick up for your mother,
00:56you know what I'm saying?
00:57So it's a really, really soft spot for me,
00:59so I'm here fighting for domestic violence.
01:05Don, Don, go, go.
01:12I was fortunate as a victim of domestic violence
01:15to like pick myself up and try to figure it out.
01:18But everybody doesn't have that luxury.
01:20What's wrong?
01:21Just talking about everybody's charities and stuff,
01:24and like, you know, you don't realize that sometimes
01:27we deal with some of this stuff too, you know what I mean?
01:29Right.
01:30Like, you're a person I've seen actually deal with it outside of my mother,
01:33you know what I'm saying?
01:34So like, I'm-
01:35I'm currently using the other side of this community.
01:41I don't know what I've seen on my brother,
01:42but it's also going over the world.
01:44You know what I mean?
01:45How do you find cattle apart?
01:46I said.
01:47I'm already not collecting crap for me,
01:48but it's not gonna hurt things.
01:49You know what I mean?
01:50And I'm getting all that.
01:52grandson that was his boyfriend of his father
01:52who's foreword on the mother's birthday,
01:54or he is being owned by her brother,
01:56who was going to be slave everytime
01:57I admire your strength, you know what I'm saying?
01:59Like, your daughter is young, you know what I'm saying?
02:01Beautiful.
02:02You were strong enough to get yourself out of the situation.
02:05And I know it's tough, but you're making an example for other women.
02:10Everybody's fighting for something that means something to them.
02:13Even us just being here, we all bring an awareness to it.
