00:00We now know another actor who will be joining Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in the Joker sequel.
00:05The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively reveal that rising star Jacob Laughlin has nabbed a
00:10key supporting role in the film titled Joker Faliade. Laughlin will play an inmate in the
00:15Arkham Asylum who develops a relationship with Arthur Fleck aka the Joker. Other stars on the
00:20call sheet include Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener. Todd Phillips who directed the first film
00:25is back for the sequel centered on the infamous Batman villain. Production is due to begin in
00:29November with shoots in Los Angeles and New York. Warner Brothers revealed the title of the film
00:34with this teaser video in August. Plot details are being kept under lock and key but the movie is
00:39believed to be set in part in Arkham Asylum, the insane asylum frequented by many of Batman's
00:44villains in the comics. The project also has a musical component. Additionally, the title
00:48references a medical term for an identical or similar mental disorder that affects two or more
00:53individuals. The studio is set on October 4th, 2024 release date for the movie. As for Laughlin,
00:58he made his debut opposite Matthew McConaughey and Ty Sheridan in the 2013 indie hit Mud and he was a
01:04supporting player in the Maze Runner movie franchise. Laughlin also played the younger version of the
01:09character played by Pierce Brosnan in the western series The Sun which ran for two seasons on AMC.
