00:00Tom Hardy is hardly recognizable as Al Capone. The first trailer for the
00:11biographical crime drama Capone, starring Hardy as the notorious gangster, dropped
00:16online Wednesday. Josh Trank, who directed the film, posted the trailer to
00:19his Twitter account announcing that the film will be released May 12th. The
00:23director also made a note saying that the title of the film has changed. It was
00:27previously titled Fonzo. The trailer indicates that the pic is based on true
00:37events and shows off Hardy, who is almost unrecognizable in the title role as
00:41quote, America's most notorious gangster. The trailer explores Capone's life living
00:46like a king in Florida and later questions whether his dementia was an
00:49elaborate act to hide a very large sum of money. The film also stars Linda
00:53Cardellini as May Capone, Kyle McLaughlin as Carlock, and Matt Dillon as Johnny.
00:58Trank also noted that the pic will be on streaming with a theatrical release
