00:00Michael Keaton is in talks to play Batman again, Cobra Kai is leaving YouTube for Netflix,
00:05and the trailer for the Hamilton movie is here. Here are today's top stories. First,
00:09Michael Keaton may be suiting back up in the cape and cowl. The actor who famously starred
00:13as Batman in the Tim Burton-directed early 1990s Batman movies is in talks to reprise
00:18the character for Warner Bros. DC movie The Flash. Ezra Miller is on board to star as Barry
00:23Allen, aka The Flash, in the feature that will be directed by IT filmmaker Andy Muschietti.
00:28But wait, there's more. If a deal makes, Keaton wouldn't just return for The Flash,
00:32but possibly for several other DC-oriented film projects. Sources tell THR that the role being
00:37envisioned for the veteran actor is akin to the one played by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury in
00:42the Marvel Cinematic Universe, something of a mentor or guide or even string puller.
00:46Warner Bros. had no comment. Meanwhile, The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson,
00:50is currently being looked at as separate from The Flash or other DC movies.
00:53Cobra Kai is moving from YouTube to Netflix. The streaming giant has acquired the first
00:58three seasons of the Karate Kid sequel starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka as they reprise
01:02their beloved roles as Daniel and Johnny. The first two seasons, which aired on YouTube in 2018 and
01:162019, will make their debut on Netflix later this year. A premiere date for the third season on the
01:22streaming service is yet to be determined. With Cobra Kai's move to Netflix now completed,
01:26YouTube is officially out of the scripted TV business.
01:29Finally, Disney Plus just dropped the first trailer for the highly anticipated filmed version
01:33of Hamilton. THR's Neha Choi has more. The movie, which features the original Broadway cast of the
01:39Tony-winning musical, had been intended to hit theaters on October 15, 2021, but will instead
01:44hit Disney Plus in just a few short weeks on July 3rd.
01:51Filmed at Broadway's Richard Rogers Theater in June 2016, the movie tells the story of American
01:56founding father Alexander Hamilton, featuring Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda in the starring role.
