03:06We're here at Bandamere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado, just outside of Denver.
03:11This track was opened in 1958 and has been operated by the Bandamere family ever since.
03:16Built right in the side of a mountain, this track sits at 5,800 feet above sea level.
03:22At this altitude, the air is much thinner, which impacts how much power these cars can produce.
03:29Nitrous combos will probably have a little bit more of an advantage here at the altitude.
03:33They create their own atmosphere.
03:35But also the tuning window can be a little bit smaller.
03:38But as we just saw with Lizzy, potentially a little too aggressive on the tune-up can result in catastrophic damage
03:44as she blew up her motor in the finals from the Idaho race.
03:49Here's how it works.
03:50If you win the Grade 8, you get 10 points.
03:52Plus, you also get $10,000.
03:54If you run her up, you get seven.
03:56And if you make it to the semifinals, you will get three.
03:59Those points go towards an individual championship that will be worth $100,000 at the end of the season.
04:05Coming into Colorado, Kai Kelly is leading with 37 points.
04:10Giuseppe is behind him with 20.
04:12But he can catch up in two events if Kai Kelly is knocked out in the first round.
04:17The Grade 8 is made up of the top eight drivers from the Saturday Invitational Race.
04:22And right now, Robin Roberts and Scott Taylor are tied for eight.
04:26We've sorted out ties before with coin tosses or whatever.
04:30But these two racers actually want to race for that spot.
