00:18I am in Beijing now, this time to report about the devastating fire at the residential complex in Hong Kong,
00:27that so far left at least 94 people dead and 76 injured.
00:34This according to the latest figures from the fire department.
00:38The fire started on Wednesday and spread rapidly throughout several buildings,
00:45exacerbated by the renovation works surrounding the complex.
00:51More than 800 firefighters and paramedics participated in this operation,
00:58supported by emergency vehicles and drones to contain the flames
01:04and conduct throughout search in all affected units.
01:09Three executives of the company responsible for the renovations have been detained
01:15and suspicious of assassination while the investigation continues.
01:22The local government has opened nine temporary shelters
01:28and volunteers are distributing food, clothing and hygiene items to the displaced families.
01:36President Xi Jinping expressed his condolences to the families of the victims
01:43and called for all possible efforts to be mobilized to extinguish the fire and rescue the survivors,
