Kim and Theo meet in the midst of Black Friday shopping madness but there’s a definite spark between them. When a power outage causes some panic at a store, the couple gets separated. With Christmas coming, there should be plenty of distractions but neither Kim nor Theo can forget the other. Both yearn to find each other but how with so little information to go on? It’ll take a little Christmas magic and destiny to bring them back together.

00:00:00Hot chocolate?
00:00:26Hot chocolate?
00:00:28Hot chocolate?
00:00:30Hot chocolate?
00:00:32It's cold out.
00:00:34See?
00:00:35What for me?
00:00:36It's cold enough to be tempting.
00:00:38Yeah, it is.
00:00:39I can't tell if it's really late or really early right now either.
00:00:43Hot chocolate?
00:00:45I'll take a cup.
00:00:47$2.50.
00:00:52There you go.
00:00:53I got some quarters in here somewhere.
00:00:56I accept tips if you want to round up.
00:00:58Here, I got you covered.
00:01:02I'll take a cup too.
00:01:04Thanks.
00:01:08Yeah, just a couple of quarters.
00:01:10That's so appreciated.
00:01:12Interesting wallet choice.
00:01:14It makes me look like a little kid, doesn't it?
00:01:18I mean, who doesn't love dinosaurs?
00:01:20You'd be surprised, but they're my favorite.
00:01:24Hot chocolate?
00:01:26So you do this every year, the Black Friday shopping?
00:01:28Oh, no.
00:01:29No, no, no.
00:01:30If I had it my way, I'd still be in my PJs.
00:01:33Hmm.
00:01:34So what's on your list to bring you out in the cold?
00:01:36Pretty much everything my niece wants.
00:01:39My sister-in-law all but guilted me into coming.
00:01:42Did she dangle the favorite aunt title?
00:01:45No, I'm the only aunt, so...
00:01:48There's no need.
00:01:49What about you?
00:01:51What brought you out here?
00:01:53Well, my, uh, my brother and his wife are watching my daughter so I can shop without her.
00:01:59Oh, that's nice of them.
00:02:01Yeah, her mom and I split up years ago, so the extra help is always appreciated.
00:02:05Well, make sure you do a good job of hiding the presents, otherwise it'll all be for nothing.
00:02:11Well, she has yet to find where I stash her gifts.
00:02:14So, have you started your Christmas shopping at all?
00:02:17Uh, gym shorts for my brother, does that count?
00:02:21Not really?
00:02:23Yeah, well, in that case I still have a lot to get.
00:02:26Well, make sure you prioritize what you pick up first, you know, based on what's most likely to sell out.
00:02:32At least that's what my sister-in-law always tells me.
00:02:36Yeah, I will.
00:02:38Ladies and gentlemen, we'll be opening the store momentarily.
00:02:41Please be patient and enter the store in a nice, orderly fashion.
00:02:46They're opening up early.
00:02:48Looks like it.
00:02:50Well, good luck. Shopping.
00:02:54Thanks, you too.
00:02:56Love you.
00:02:57Bye.
00:02:58Bye.
00:02:59Bye.
00:03:01Bye.
00:03:32Merry Christmas.
00:03:51Oh, excuse me. Do you know where I can...
00:03:53Sorry. All the stock we have is out here.
00:03:58Oh, hey. Where did you find those?
00:04:00This one's mine.
00:04:02Okay.
00:04:09Here you go. Happy holidays.
00:04:13Next.
00:04:13You were right. Sold out.
00:04:34Oh, no. What were you looking for?
00:04:35Oh, it's this doll thing on my daughter's list.
00:04:38I should have gone for that first.
00:04:40I'm sorry.
00:04:42Hang on a second.
00:04:45Was this it?
00:04:46Yes.
00:04:47Yeah, these were pretty popular this year.
00:04:49I know.
00:04:52Here.
00:04:53Oh, no, no, no. That's yours. They're for your niece.
00:04:56I have a really long list of other gifts for her, so don't worry.
00:04:59I couldn't.
00:05:00I take it, really.
00:05:03Are you sure?
00:05:05Yes.
00:05:07Yes.
00:05:09How much do I owe you?
00:05:11Yeah, don't worry about it.
00:05:11I can't not worry about it.
00:05:13First the hot chocolate, now this.
00:05:15It's no big deal.
00:05:19Can I at least buy you breakfast?
00:05:21There's a diner nearby that's open 24-7.
00:05:26All right.
00:05:28I'm Theo.
00:05:30Kim.
00:05:32So my roommate would set up this tent over her bed
00:05:35and would, like, go in there and zip it up.
00:05:38Like, all the time.
00:05:40What was her reason?
00:05:41Like, germophobia? Agoraphobia?
00:05:43Well, that's what I thought at first, but no.
00:05:46Shyness, turns out.
00:05:48Really?
00:05:48Mm-hmm.
00:05:52You bet.
00:05:53Let me know if you need anything else.
00:06:00Uh, yeah.
00:06:01I guess sharing a room in college scared her.
00:06:04But the crazy thing was,
00:06:06is I never knew if she was in there or not.
00:06:09There was this one night,
00:06:10it was getting late
00:06:12and I was worried that she wasn't back yet
00:06:15and then all of a sudden
00:06:16she pops out of the tent.
00:06:19Scary to death.
00:06:20Nearly.
00:06:21But you want to know the funniest part?
00:06:22Oh, don't keep me hanging.
00:06:24She is my sister-in-law now.
00:06:26No.
00:06:26Mm-hmm.
00:06:27My brother came by to visit
00:06:28and they totally hit it off.
00:06:30She came out of her tent
00:06:31and then out of her shell.
00:06:33Surprisingly, she's the most outgoing person now,
00:06:36but the good news,
00:06:37she put away the tent when they got engaged.
00:06:39So, no king-size bed tent
00:06:41on their wedding registry?
00:06:42No, thankfully.
00:06:45So, is she the one who guilted you
00:06:47into coming out today?
00:06:48The very one.
00:06:50She's probably buying out
00:06:51a few other stores across town.
00:06:53Shopping is very much part
00:06:55of Thanksgiving weekend to her.
00:06:57How about you?
00:06:58What would you prefer to be doing today?
00:07:00Uh, decorating my own Christmas tree.
00:07:02Maybe grading a few papers
00:07:04just to stay ahead of things.
00:07:06Teacher?
00:07:07Yeah.
00:07:08But, uh, other than that,
00:07:10I'd be spending time at my parents' place.
00:07:12Nothing exciting, really.
00:07:14Well, uh,
00:07:15I will be spending most of my weekend
00:07:18building the best gingerbread house possible.
00:07:21Oh.
00:07:22Your hobby or your daughter's?
00:07:25Uh, both.
00:07:26Last year we entered this contest
00:07:28at the City Art Museum
00:07:29and it was such a hit
00:07:32that, uh,
00:07:33she's already sketching
00:07:33what she wants to do this year.
00:07:35Oh, well, that sounds...
00:07:37Messy.
00:07:37I was gonna say fun.
00:07:39That too.
00:07:41Yeah, I'm sure she'll be ready
00:07:42to jump into it as soon as we get home.
00:07:44Mm-hmm.
00:07:45But I'm really hoping
00:07:46I can convince her to watch a movie
00:07:48so I can catch up on some sleep.
00:07:51Good strategy.
00:07:53Yeah.
00:07:54So, what's your daughter like?
00:07:56Ah, she's nine years old.
00:08:01Smart.
00:08:02And she knows it.
00:08:04Creative.
00:08:05Um, mischievous
00:08:07in a fun sort of way.
00:08:09She makes me laugh.
00:08:10A lot.
00:08:12Uh, she's always curious.
00:08:15Well, that's good.
00:08:16Depends.
00:08:17She has a tendency to wander off.
00:08:20Yeah, I've had a few
00:08:21heart-stopping moments
00:08:22losing her in stores.
00:08:23Oh.
00:08:24Oh.
00:08:25Thanks for breakfast.
00:08:28You're welcome.
00:08:29So, what else do you have
00:08:30on your list?
00:08:31Ornaments.
00:08:32Oh, well, I did break one
00:08:34off my mother's tree last year.
00:08:36Shameful.
00:08:37I was helping to put everything away
00:08:39and I don't think she really noticed.
00:08:42Maybe you should get her a replacement?
00:08:43Well, it was a dog.
00:08:45Ceramic one, I think.
00:08:47What type of dog?
00:08:47I have no idea, but
00:08:50this one looks close enough.
00:08:52Aw.
00:08:54Hey, look.
00:08:55This one's perfect for you.
00:08:57I, uh, actually have that one already.
00:08:59You would.
00:09:00But good choice.
00:09:01Oh, hang on.
00:09:02I will get it for my niece,
00:09:03so she will think of her aunt each year.
00:09:06Nice.
00:09:06And for you,
00:09:09let's see, we should get something.
00:09:12Ha!
00:09:13What about this one?
00:09:14The gingerbread houses we make
00:09:16aren't that fancy.
00:09:18Ah, but it's perfect.
00:09:19Oh, you don't have to buy it.
00:09:20No, no, I want to.
00:09:22It's just what my tree needs.
00:09:23There's a jingle in the air
00:09:30La, la, la, feeling everywhere
00:09:33It's the best time of the year
00:09:36Whenever you're here
00:09:38So let it snow, snow, snow
00:09:42So we can stay home, home, home
00:09:46I've got the tree
00:09:48You string the lights
00:09:50You bring the naughty
00:09:51I've got the nice
00:09:53I'll hang a mist
00:09:55So you bring a kiss
00:09:56Baby, you'll bury in every Christmas
00:10:00At the top of my wish list
00:10:02Hey, hey, hey
00:10:04You're the happy in my holiday
00:10:07I'm cute
00:10:09I mean, handsome
00:10:11Picture your ears down
00:10:12At the top of my wish list
00:10:15I'm not screaming
00:10:16You're the happy in my holiday
00:10:19Okay, I think I'm ready to get out of the cold
00:10:26Me too
00:10:26How about this one?
00:10:29Thanks
00:10:30There's something kind of disheartening about all of this, isn't there?
00:10:37How do you mean?
00:10:38I mean, go get my wish list from the store
00:10:41There's no magic or thought or sincerity
00:10:44I see your point
00:10:46I'm being somewhat of a grinch, aren't I?
00:10:49No, I think Christmas can feel like that
00:10:54But?
00:10:55I guess it makes you search for ways to add the magic back in
00:11:01Well, and you do that how?
00:11:04Well, like traditions, maybe
00:11:05Or just spending time together
00:11:08I guess my mom does insist
00:11:11We go see A Christmas Carol, the play
00:11:13We go every year the weekend before Christmas
00:11:16See, good example
00:11:17Oh, do you hate it?
00:11:19No, I suppose it gets me excited for the holidays
00:11:22But my favorite is Christmas Eve
00:11:25We go to this Christmas-themed village every year for the Santa send-off
00:11:29Have you been?
00:11:30No
00:11:31You should
00:11:32It's this quaint village with all these different buildings
00:11:36And Christmas activities and food
00:11:38And, of course, Santa leaves and everyone cheers and waves
00:11:41My niece loves it
00:11:43It's, well, it's magical
00:11:47Wow, that sounds amazing
00:11:49So what else do you do besides gingerbread creations?
00:11:56We have some epic campouts under the Christmas tree
00:12:00Oh
00:12:00Christmas stories at bedtime
00:12:02We do this 12 days of Christmas thing
00:12:05Where you send, like, a gift or a treat to somebody new each day
00:12:09And we serve meals at the shelter
00:12:11Oh, that's nice
00:12:13Oh, and sledding, of course
00:12:16So what do you do if there's not enough snow?
00:12:19Ice blocking
00:12:20What?
00:12:21Yeah, it's this thing I learned in college
00:12:24You buy an ice block from the grocery store
00:12:27Put a blanket on it to sit on
00:12:29And then
00:12:29I have never heard of that before
00:12:33You should try it
00:12:34I'm sure your daughter loves it
00:12:37Loves all of it
00:12:38It sounds
00:12:39It sounds perfect
00:12:42I'm sorry
00:12:46Oh
00:12:47Oh, I just have one more thing on my list
00:12:52Yeah, I mean, great
00:12:54I'll grab it real quick
00:12:56Uh-huh
00:12:57Okay, Theo, this is the part where you ask her out
00:13:09Not a big deal, just
00:13:11Hey
00:13:13Hey
00:13:14Hey
00:13:15Hey
00:13:16Just
00:13:16Would-would you wanna, uh, go grab lunch?
00:13:22In six more hours
00:13:25Okay
00:13:26Hey, would you wanna come check out my gingerbread house?
00:13:33That sounds really sketchy
00:13:35Kim?
00:13:58Theo?
00:14:03Theo?
00:14:05Hey, there's no need to panic.
00:14:08Please, be careful as you're moving around.
00:14:11I'm sure that the power's gonna be back on soon.
00:14:35Oh, excuse me, sorry. Our-our registers are down, so we can't process any sales.
00:14:54Thank you for understanding.
00:14:55Oh, okay.
00:15:03Theo?
00:15:05Oh, my God.
00:15:33Oh, my God.
00:15:34Hey, can someone pick up all these ads, please?
00:15:52Bill, honey, there's whipped cream in the fridge, too.
00:15:55Thanksgiving leftovers. My favorite.
00:15:57Are you all hungry?
00:15:59Mom, we haven't even fully digested Thanksgiving yet.
00:16:02Yeah, but all that shopping you did builds an appetite.
00:16:05Hey, is Mia around?
00:16:06Yes.
00:16:07Close your eyes. I have tons of presents for you.
00:16:11Where are they?
00:16:12They are in my car. I just wanted to get you excited.
00:16:15Oh.
00:16:15We beat you home.
00:16:16Oh, I did take a little longer. Did you get everything you circled in the ads?
00:16:21That would have included every toy for Mia and a vacuum she marked. I don't think she knew what it was, but it was pink.
00:16:27It wasn't so long ago you were pouring over all those ads, too, Glenn.
00:16:30That was Kim, actually.
00:16:31Uh, you had a colored marker of your own, so that what you wanted didn't get mixed up with my choices.
00:16:36I was 13.
00:16:38Did you use a green marker this year? Because I see a lot of circles here.
00:16:41Enough of that, you two.
00:16:42Fine.
00:16:43Oh, leftover pie. It's a pity we didn't have a larger party this year. Have you heard from Zach at all?
00:16:52Not since we broke up, and that works for me. Besides, aren't I special enough alone?
00:16:57Of course.
00:16:58No.
00:16:59Babe, it's not really Kim's fault he didn't want a future together.
00:17:02Of course not.
00:17:05I don't know. He was a pretty special guy, though.
00:17:13Hello?
00:17:28Shh.
00:17:30Where's Hunter and Clarissa?
00:17:32Sleeping.
00:17:33Oh.
00:17:35Great babysitting.
00:17:37Did you get me lots of presents?
00:17:39None whatsoever.
00:17:41Who's there?
00:17:42Theo?
00:17:42Yeah.
00:17:44Morning.
00:17:45Yeah, it is.
00:17:47Ashley, are you hungry?
00:17:49I think Clarissa's going to make pancakes.
00:17:50Clarissa?
00:17:51No, no, no. Don't bother.
00:17:52You're okay, right, Ashley?
00:17:53There's no trouble.
00:17:55I'm sure you're hungry.
00:17:57Besides, Clarissa's sister's coming by for breakfast.
00:18:01Sharon.
00:18:02Mm-hmm.
00:18:04Is Clarissa still trying to set me up with her?
00:18:06What's so bad about that?
00:18:08Would you appreciate it if our situations were reversed?
00:18:10Eh, actually, I kind of met someone last night.
00:18:16Really?
00:18:16Yeah.
00:18:16That's great.
00:18:17When are you going to see her again?
00:18:19I didn't get her number.
00:18:22Theo, come on.
00:18:24Hey, Theo.
00:18:25Hey, Clarissa.
00:18:26How is Ashley for you?
00:18:27An angel, of course.
00:18:29Anytime you need us to babysit, we're here.
00:18:31Really, though, we mean that.
00:18:33Could be good practice for us.
00:18:37What are you?
00:18:38We're expecting.
00:18:40Oh, congratulations.
00:18:42Thanks.
00:18:42Oh, you're going to have a cousin, Ashley.
00:18:45Is it a girl?
00:18:46Uh, we don't know yet.
00:18:48Oh, that's Sharon.
00:18:50Just go with it.
00:18:53Go with what?
00:18:54Nothing.
00:18:56If it's a girl, you have to name her Ashlyn.
00:18:58Ashlyn and Ashley?
00:18:59I'm sure Grandma wouldn't find that confusing at all.
00:19:02Oh, no.
00:19:05Morning.
00:19:06You're just in time.
00:19:07He's here?
00:19:08Mm-hmm.
00:19:08How do I look?
00:19:09Great.
00:19:09Come help me make pancakes.
00:19:10I always burn them.
00:19:11Well, just hold the flipper thing and look like you know what you're doing, and I'll handle
00:19:14the rest.
00:19:15Good morning.
00:19:16Hey.
00:19:17Hey, Sharon.
00:19:18Hi, Theo.
00:19:18Okay, time to put that away.
00:19:20But I haven't hit my time limit.
00:19:22Then save some for later today, then.
00:19:23Come on.
00:19:24Oh, Sharon, there's some berries in the fridge.
00:19:27How was Thanksgiving for you all?
00:19:29Always great.
00:19:30We had a feast with my mom.
00:19:32How is she doing?
00:19:33Oh, good.
00:19:34Fine.
00:19:35You know, same as always.
00:19:36Wait, did you tell Mom about the baby?
00:19:38I did, yeah.
00:19:39Sorry, you're the last to know.
00:19:40Well, better me than her.
00:19:43How excited was she?
00:19:44Very.
00:19:46Good.
00:19:46So, Theo, do we get you for Christmas this year?
00:19:50I mean, you and Ashley with our side of the family?
00:19:53Ah, you know, my mom would be all low and say, actually, I invited Mom to come along,
00:19:58so.
00:19:59Great.
00:20:00We'll all be together then.
00:20:02Sounds like it.
00:20:03Come in.
00:20:17You're awake.
00:20:18Oh, barely.
00:20:20What is all that?
00:20:21Presents for Mia and Glenn and your parents.
00:20:23Is it okay if I stash them here?
00:20:25Sure.
00:20:25But do you really need to worry about Glenn and my parents snooping?
00:20:28Okay, first of all, your brother has gotten worse.
00:20:31Even Mia has more self-restraint.
00:20:32And second of all, we can have a huge gift-wrapping party before Christmas.
00:20:35You mean an all-nighter with eggnog and gift wrap?
00:20:37That's exactly what I mean.
00:20:39What are you doing?
00:20:40I'm grading papers on the Cretaceous period.
00:20:43Which one is that?
00:20:44The one after Jurassic.
00:20:46You could just wait till Monday.
00:20:48Too much to do.
00:20:48Hey, did you end up getting that doll that Mia wanted?
00:20:52I-
00:20:53Yeah, no peeking.
00:20:54And yes, I actually gave it away.
00:20:58Kim, she really wanted that doll.
00:21:00I can get Mia another gift on her list.
00:21:02Besides, I met someone who desperately wanted one for his daughter,
00:21:05and I felt like it was the right thing to do.
00:21:07Okay, Black Friday shoppers are the worst.
00:21:09They're so manipulative.
00:21:10You played right into a scheme.
00:21:12There was no scheme.
00:21:13He was nice.
00:21:15And he didn't even ask.
00:21:16I offered.
00:21:17Who is this nice man?
00:21:20Theo.
00:21:22Theo who?
00:21:24Just Theo.
00:21:30Is it holding?
00:21:32Yeah, if I don't move.
00:21:34Okay, I think another minute or so.
00:21:36I want to make it like a fairy house.
00:21:39Okay, so like Tinkerbell?
00:21:41No, like Mrs. Pullman's garden.
00:21:43All right, so garden gnomes and fairies.
00:21:48Yeah.
00:21:49All right, I will get started on an awesome toadstool day.
00:21:53Oh, and a picnic bench.
00:21:55Right away.
00:21:57Oh, actually, I got us a little something.
00:21:59What's that?
00:22:00Um...
00:22:01Ta-da!
00:22:06A new ornament for a tree.
00:22:08I love it.
00:22:10Can I hold it?
00:22:10Yeah.
00:22:12Oh, okay.
00:22:13Easy.
00:22:14Whoa.
00:22:15It's not quite dry.
00:22:17I got it.
00:22:17I got it.
00:22:18Okay, good.
00:22:18I love it.
00:22:18Okay, that is it for today, but fair warning,
00:22:47your in-depth papers and Sorrow Pods are due in a week.
00:22:51I appreciate any early papers turned in,
00:22:53not that it'll happen, but just throwing it out there.
00:22:57All right, that's it, thank you.
00:22:59Thank you, Dr. Fennec.
00:23:00You're welcome.
00:23:02Thank you. See you tomorrow.
00:23:05I don't know why, but I've always loved you in the lab coat.
00:23:20Zack.
00:23:22How are you?
00:23:23I'm good.
00:23:26What are you doing here?
00:23:28I wanted to see you.
00:23:30Is that really fair? You broke up with me months ago, and I-
00:23:34I regret it.
00:23:37What?
00:23:38I know what I said a few months ago, but I was wrong.
00:23:44You said you didn't see our relationship going anywhere.
00:23:47I was scared.
00:23:48These past few months apart, I-
00:23:51I missed you.
00:23:53Oh, hang on. Not on the skeletons, please.
00:23:57Really? I thought it'd look kind of cool.
00:24:00Yes, but they're, you know, kind of fragile.
00:24:07All right, how about this?
00:24:08Could I take you out again? You know, start over?
00:24:10We can't just erase the past, Zack.
00:24:13Well then, let's pick back up where we left off.
00:24:15I can't do that either.
00:24:17Hey, no! Definitely not there.
00:24:21Kim, please, just give me another chance.
00:24:23I have to get back to work.
00:24:24At least have dinner with me?
00:24:28Fine.
00:24:29Kim, I'll give you a call, yeah?
00:24:31Yeah.
00:24:32Okay.
00:24:34Oh, uh, how about we hang these on the railing?
00:24:37You know what these would look awesome?
00:24:40The stegosaurus upstairs.
00:24:42Especially not there.
00:24:44Wow.
00:24:45I'll go take it down.
00:24:54I don't like this this year.
00:24:57I've put it up and I've taken it down three times.
00:25:00It's just, it's not working.
00:25:01So don't use it.
00:25:02You have to do a garland.
00:25:04Okay.
00:25:05Let's buy some new garland then.
00:25:07Nope.
00:25:08I am determined to make do.
00:25:10Help me out here.
00:25:11No.
00:25:12I thought I was done decorating when I left work.
00:25:14Uh, let me try something.
00:25:17How was work today?
00:25:18Fine, I guess.
00:25:20Zach came by.
00:25:21Oh.
00:25:22Mom, do not get your hopes up.
00:25:24Sorry.
00:25:25So what'd he want?
00:25:27He wanted to, I don't know, start things up again, I guess.
00:25:31What'd you say?
00:25:33I think I agreed to go on a date with him.
00:25:36But that's wonderful.
00:25:37But that's so sudden of him.
00:25:38I mean, I'm not surprised at all because you're amazing.
00:25:41But how do you feel about it?
00:25:44I'm not excited.
00:25:45I feel more nervous.
00:25:47Because he hurt you before.
00:25:50Yeah.
00:25:51And?
00:25:53There's someone else.
00:25:55There is?
00:25:56Kind of.
00:25:58I met this guy the other night shopping.
00:26:00Oh, the doll guy.
00:26:02You?
00:26:03He likes dolls?
00:26:05What?
00:26:06No.
00:26:07He was shopping for his daughter.
00:26:09I think there was something between us.
00:26:12And I, I can't stop wondering about it.
00:26:15It's probably just the holiday spirit.
00:26:18Mom, are you saying that because you think Zach is so wonderful?
00:26:21He is wonderful.
00:26:22Although I do think I need to give him a stern talking to about dumping you.
00:26:25Ugh, I hate that term.
00:26:28But Kim, you know Zach.
00:26:29Whereas with Mr. Doll Guy.
00:26:30Theo.
00:26:31You only had a brief time with him.
00:26:33So you're probably remembering things in a rose-colored way.
00:26:36Yeah.
00:26:37I guess.
00:26:39But he was...
00:26:42When we talked, everything was so easy.
00:26:46Every word he said, I, I drank it up.
00:26:51He made my heart melt, you know?
00:26:55Does that make sense?
00:26:57So why don't you call him?
00:26:59We got separated.
00:27:00I lost him and I don't have his number.
00:27:03I don't even know his last name.
00:27:05You're gonna tell me to forget him, aren't you?
00:27:12No.
00:27:15Do you want to see him again?
00:27:19Then find him.
00:27:21I would love that.
00:27:23But how?
00:27:24Well, you said you hung on his every word, right?
00:27:27What do you say?
00:27:41Don't drop it.
00:27:42I won't.
00:27:43I won't.
00:27:44The stars will brightly shine me.
00:27:51We've had so many entries this year.
00:27:52I'm just amazed at everyone's creativity.
00:27:55No kidding.
00:27:57It's amazing.
00:27:58Careful, Dad.
00:27:59I got it.
00:28:00Wow.
00:28:02This is beautiful.
00:28:03I can tell you worked hard on it.
00:28:06My dad helped.
00:28:08Good.
00:28:09Well, this will be on display with all the other houses till New Year's.
00:28:12And the contest?
00:28:14The winners will be contacted December 22nd.
00:28:17Did you fill out the form so we could reach you?
00:28:20Here it is.
00:28:21Perfect.
00:28:22Well, good luck then.
00:28:25Wow.
00:28:26Look at that.
00:28:27Oh, that's made out of pure chocolate.
00:28:29Look at that.
00:28:35Ah, don't trap me.
00:28:37Can I put on the cool ornaments?
00:28:39Only if I get to put on the ones you've made.
00:28:42Oh, um, we just made a new one in school.
00:28:45Ellie, let's see it.
00:28:50Oh, I love it.
00:28:54Oh, no.
00:28:55My field trip.
00:28:56You have to sign this permission form.
00:28:58All right.
00:28:59All right.
00:29:00Let's see.
00:29:02I have to turn this in tomorrow or I can't go.
00:29:05Got it.
00:29:07And my homework.
00:29:08I forgot.
00:29:09My teacher wants us to figure out what her parents want for Christmas.
00:29:12Really?
00:29:13Yeah, she wants to make it a money problem for math.
00:29:17Hmm.
00:29:18Let's see.
00:29:20A good daughter.
00:29:21Dad, come on.
00:29:23Okay, socks then.
00:29:24Why do you always say that?
00:29:26Because you can never have too many.
00:29:30Really.
00:29:32I just want to be with the people I love.
00:29:35And the answer to a math problem for that is priceless.
00:29:38I'll tell her socks then.
00:29:39Wow.
00:29:40It's quite the collection this year, isn't it?
00:29:41I had no idea people took these so seriously.
00:29:43Oh, yes.
00:29:44We've got kids, adults, and even amateur bakers who participate.
00:29:46Wow.
00:29:48Do you know who made each of these?
00:30:04We do, but it's kept confidential for the judging process, and people's privacy, of course.
00:30:14Is there any way?
00:30:16Is there any way you could tell me if there's someone named Theo who brought in a gingerbread house?
00:30:20Theo. That doesn't ring a bell.
00:30:23And a name like that I think I'd remember.
00:30:25But the winners will be announced just before Christmas. You should come back then.
00:30:29Okay. Thank you.
00:30:41Looking good.
00:30:43Hey, Theo. Hey. We got a message from some shop.
00:30:46Hey, uh, how's that Rodriguez order coming?
00:30:48Great. It's almost ready for standing.
00:30:50Oh, good. And, uh, Clemens order?
00:30:52A little behind.
00:30:54Ah, guy's so impatient. And he wants it installed before Christmas.
00:30:58Do you want us to work overtime on it?
00:31:00No, I'll take care of it tonight myself.
00:31:02Alright.
00:31:04Is that my credit card?
00:31:09Oh, man.
00:31:10Merry Christmas. Thank you.
00:31:13Hi. I got a call about my credit card being here, Theo Hall.
00:31:16Oh, yeah.
00:31:20Ah, sorry. Buried under a pile of receipts. It's been crazy.
00:31:23I bet. Christmas rush.
00:31:25Yeah.
00:31:26Thanks for keeping it safe.
00:31:27You're welcome. Merry Christmas.
00:31:28Merry Christmas.
00:31:31Hey, um, I was here on Black Friday with someone and she bought one of these ornaments.
00:31:37Is there any way you can look up her name?
00:31:40You were with her, but don't know her name?
00:31:43It's Kim... something.
00:31:47Please.
00:31:49Okay.
00:31:52Mmm.
00:31:54Nope. I can't look up customer info. It's all hidden.
00:31:57I think it's part of a financial security thing.
00:31:59Right. Thanks anyway.
00:32:01Yep.
00:32:03Actually, I'll take this one.
00:32:06Sure.
00:32:15Thank you, Kim.
00:32:16A dinosaur.
00:32:17I love it.
00:32:19You couldn't find something less tomboy?
00:32:21Nope. And besides, Mia loves an early Christmas present. Don't you, Mia?
00:32:26Can I open up more?
00:32:27No.
00:32:29So, how'd the gingerbread thing go?
00:32:31Not so great.
00:32:33I keep thinking about what we talked about, and I realize that he didn't share as much as I did.
00:32:41It makes me wonder if me looking for him is a mistake.
00:32:45I probably bored him all night.
00:32:47I doubt it.
00:32:48But I'm willing to bet that you remember more than you realize.
00:32:51Here.
00:32:53Okay. Let's think.
00:32:54What do you know about him?
00:32:56Well, we know his name is Theo, and he has a daughter.
00:32:59Uh, he's divorced.
00:33:01Um, he camps under the Christmas tree with his daughter every year.
00:33:06Oh.
00:33:07I know. And they volunteer at a shelter.
00:33:09Ugh. This guy's a saint.
00:33:11Kay, what else?
00:33:13He talked about his mother, and his brother, his sister-in-law.
00:33:17But beyond that...
00:33:19I really did do all the talking.
00:33:21I'm sure it's not as bad as you think.
00:33:23Yeah, but I have nothing to go on there.
00:33:25Okay, well, where'd you go? Together, I mean.
00:33:27We were at the shopping center, and then the toy store, but separately.
00:33:31He asked me to breakfast.
00:33:33Okay, good.
00:33:35Then the ornament stand, and the store we got separated in.
00:33:38Perfect.
00:33:40How was that perfect?
00:33:41Go back to the place where you guys had breakfast, ask for the waiter who served you, and then ask them if they remember anything about him, or if they knew who he was.
00:33:47Same with the ornament stand, or the last store you visited.
00:33:49Well, the machines were down, so people couldn't really buy anything.
00:33:53I'm willing to bet they have security footage.
00:33:55That's a little extreme, isn't it?
00:33:58Depends on how badly you want to find Theo.
00:33:59Excuse me?
00:34:00Grab a seat wherever you want.
00:34:01Hi.
00:34:02Actually, I'm here to talk to you.
00:34:03I was here the morning of Black Friday.
00:34:04Sorry.
00:34:05I don't remember anyone from my last shift, much less back then.
00:34:08Right.
00:34:09Okay.
00:34:10But I was here with this guy, and I hoped maybe you recognized him, and maybe he's regular here.
00:34:17Describe him.
00:34:18Describe him.
00:34:19Uh, his name's Theo.
00:34:20He's tall.
00:34:21Handsome.
00:34:22You actually winked at him.
00:34:23Huh.
00:34:24Uh, I don't...
00:34:25Oh, you two sat over there.
00:34:26Yes.
00:34:27He's a cutie.
00:34:28Okay.
00:34:29Okay.
00:34:30I'm sorry.
00:34:31I don't remember anyone from my last shift, much less back then.
00:34:33Right.
00:34:34Okay.
00:34:35But I was here with this guy, and I hoped maybe you recognized him, and maybe he's regular here.
00:34:38You actually winked at him?
00:34:41Huh.
00:34:42Uh, I don't...
00:34:44Oh, you two sat over there.
00:34:46Yes.
00:34:47He's a cutie.
00:34:48Okay, so you do know him.
00:34:49No.
00:34:50But I wink at all the cute ones.
00:34:51Right.
00:34:52So have you seen him here before?
00:34:54No.
00:34:55Are you sure?
00:34:56He knew this place.
00:34:58Maybe he's been in before, but it doesn't mean it was during my shift.
00:35:02I...
00:35:03I guess not.
00:35:04Any way you know his last name?
00:35:06Like, did he pay with his credit card?
00:35:09Oh, I remember.
00:35:10He paid cash.
00:35:11Left a good tip.
00:35:12Oh.
00:35:13Sorry.
00:35:14Get you anything to eat while you're here?
00:35:15No.
00:35:16I think so.
00:35:21Sorry, I don't have any of that information.
00:35:24Thanks anyway.
00:35:27Hello?
00:35:29Sorry, I lost track of time.
00:35:31I'll be right there.
00:35:32Even though everything you see here is from a long, long time ago, there is still so much
00:35:41for us to learn.
00:35:42What we do here is we study the fossils of plants and animals to better understand what
00:35:47life was like millions of years ago.
00:35:49Yes.
00:35:50Do you get to dig up the bones?
00:35:52I have before and I still do every so often, but most of my time is spent here or in this
00:35:58lab.
00:35:59Yes, go ahead.
00:36:00What's your favorite?
00:36:01My favorite dinosaur?
00:36:03Triceratops, definitely.
00:36:05Although there are other types of dinosaurs in that family with similar features.
00:36:09They're called ceratopsians and they are pretty cool.
00:36:12Yes.
00:36:13Do T-Rexes see you all?
00:36:14My dad says they do, but my mom says they don't.
00:36:26Um, hi.
00:36:27Hi.
00:36:28Want to know my favorite dinosaur?
00:36:30I do.
00:36:31What is it?
00:36:32Brachiosaurus.
00:36:33Good choice.
00:36:34My students are writing a paper on Brachiosaurus and other sauropods.
00:36:40How can I be a paleontologist like you?
00:36:43Well, you can study in college like at this university, or there are other universities
00:36:49with a paleontology program.
00:36:51It's a lot of work, but it's fun.
00:36:54Do you think I might be able to discover a new dinosaur?
00:36:57Maybe.
00:36:58You never know what's still out there for us to learn.
00:37:01Have you gotten a sticker yet?
00:37:04No.
00:37:05Here.
00:37:06I'm on it.
00:37:08Ah!
00:37:09Favorite.
00:37:10Thanks, Doctor.
00:37:12Oh, that ache.
00:37:14Okay.
00:37:15Bye.
00:37:16Bye.
00:37:27Hey, Zach.
00:37:28Hey, how's your day going?
00:37:30Fine.
00:37:31Field trip day, but otherwise the usual.
00:37:34Oh, good.
00:37:35You love those.
00:37:36Yeah.
00:37:37So, what's up?
00:37:39I wanted to ask about dinner.
00:37:41How's this weekend?
00:37:42Oh, um, I...
00:37:43I already made reservations at your favorite place for Friday and Saturday.
00:37:47You pick.
00:37:49Okay.
00:37:50Um, Friday then.
00:37:52Perfect.
00:37:53And then the tin soldier melted down to a small lump.
00:38:01The next day, the servant came and swept up the ashes, and there found what remained in the shape of a small tin heart.
00:38:10Wow.
00:38:11I don't know why you like this story.
00:38:14It's like the most depressing one ever.
00:38:16No.
00:38:17The soldier's brave and the ballerina, too.
00:38:20They both get burned up or melted.
00:38:23Yeah, but they love each other.
00:38:26They do, uh...
00:38:27Are you turning into a little romantic now?
00:38:31Clarissa read Pride and Prejudice to me.
00:38:34Oh, I'm so sorry.
00:38:35Oh, don't be.
00:38:36I liked it.
00:38:37Oh, my.
00:38:38Okay, quick.
00:38:39Tell me about your field trip.
00:38:40We went to a dinosaur museum.
00:38:41It's really cool.
00:38:43There's huge fossils.
00:38:45Oh, I got a sticker.
00:38:47Nice.
00:38:48Do you think we could go sometime?
00:38:50Maybe make it like a Christmas tradition or something?
00:38:53Maybe.
00:38:54It just doesn't seem that Christmassy.
00:38:57I actually heard about a family who goes to see a Christmas play every year as a tradition.
00:39:02We could maybe try that out.
00:39:04Yeah.
00:39:05Sure.
00:39:12Hi.
00:39:13Hi.
00:39:14You ready to check out?
00:39:15Oh, no.
00:39:16Uh, I do have a strange request.
00:39:18Do you still have your security footage from the day after Thanksgiving?
00:39:21Uh, you're in luck.
00:39:23Another week and these files would have been archived.
00:39:26I wouldn't know how to find them at that point.
00:39:28Okay, so what time are you here?
00:39:30Uh, before dawn.
00:39:315 a.m.
00:39:32Uh, maybe 6.
00:39:35Huh.
00:39:36So I've got the...
00:39:37the hour before that.
00:39:40Oh, were you here during the power outage?
00:39:42Yes.
00:39:43Yeah, um...
00:39:46I think that may have messed up the files.
00:39:49Before and after that, it worked fine.
00:39:51But with the power going out, I don't know.
00:39:55Probably surged and damaged the videos before they could really save.
00:39:59Oh.
00:40:00Yeah, I'm sorry about that.
00:40:01Good luck, Bill.
00:40:02Hey, thanks for trying.
00:40:04Yeah.
00:40:05Oh, hey, in case you don't find them...
00:40:07Um...
00:40:08I'm Dan.
00:40:11Thanks.
00:40:12Merry Christmas, Dan.
00:40:14Merry Christmas.
00:40:15Merry Christmas.
00:40:26Come in.
00:40:30Hi.
00:40:31Hi.
00:40:33Too much?
00:40:34No, these are great.
00:40:36Let me put these in a vase so we can go.
00:40:39Huh?
00:40:42That was the best comedy show.
00:40:44We had such a good time together.
00:40:45We sure did.
00:40:46We should go to one of those again.
00:40:48Yeah.
00:40:49Um, maybe.
00:40:52So, how's work?
00:40:53I got promoted.
00:40:55Congrats.
00:40:57Uh, what are you doing now?
00:40:58Senior Claims Manager.
00:40:59Basically overseeing elevated health claims, helping keep claims reps in line, that sort of thing.
00:41:04Good for you.
00:41:05Do you like it?
00:41:07It's still work, but it's a nice change for me.
00:41:10Well, I'm glad.
00:41:14I also bought a house.
00:41:16I'm remodeling it right now, but you should come see it sometime.
00:41:18Zach, that's great.
00:41:20I thought you loved your apartment, though.
00:41:24I wanted something more permanent.
00:41:26When we broke up, I was a little antsy.
00:41:31I'll admit it, I was unhappy.
00:41:33And then I got promoted, and I thought that would fix it.
00:41:37And then I started to feel like something was missing.
00:41:41Someone.
00:41:43And I know I was a fool, but I'm humble enough to admit it, and I'm hoping that you'll forgive me.
00:41:50Zach, of course I forgive you.
00:41:53But I met what I said before.
00:41:57I'm not ready to pick back up where we were.
00:42:00No, no, no, of course I get it.
00:42:02I had to move on.
00:42:04Are you...
00:42:06Do you mean to say you're seeing someone else?
00:42:09No.
00:42:10Okay, good. Look, we can take it really slowly.
00:42:13I just want us both to be happy, and I think that can happen if we're together.
00:42:16Okay?
00:42:34Excuse me.
00:42:36Hi.
00:42:37Hi.
00:42:38Are you here to volunteer?
00:42:39Oh, no, I'm actually here to find out about someone who did.
00:42:42I don't follow.
00:42:44Here. Let me.
00:42:46I have a friend who volunteers, and I think it's at the shelter, but I don't know his full name.
00:42:54Your friend.
00:42:56I know. I just was wondering if you knew him. His name's Theo?
00:43:00Doesn't sound familiar to me, but we get a lot of volunteers this time of year, and most of them aren't regulars.
00:43:07It was a long shot.
00:43:08If you did come here, you might have signed the log.
00:43:11The log?
00:43:12You can sign in over there.
00:43:17Can I take a look at it?
00:43:19Go for it.
00:43:30Anything?
00:43:32No. Nothing.
00:43:34Thanks, though.
00:43:36Well, have a good night.
00:43:38Actually, can I lend a hand?
00:43:43That'd be great.
00:43:50All right. Clemon's order is almost done.
00:43:55We are installing the cabinets next week.
00:43:57Oh, perfect.
00:43:59Hey, why don't we plan to check it out once the countertops are installed? Just make sure everything's okay.
00:44:04Okay.
00:44:06Hey, would you mind closing up tomorrow?
00:44:08I just have some plans.
00:44:10Sure thing.
00:44:11Thanks.
00:44:13What plans? I thought we were grabbing a bite to eat.
00:44:15For lunch today, yes. Talking tomorrow. Taking Ashley to a play.
00:44:21I thought you didn't like plays.
00:44:23I'm willing to give it a shot.
00:44:25And Kim said she goes every year.
00:44:28No last name Kim.
00:44:29Yes.
00:44:30Still thinking about her.
00:44:32Yeah.
00:44:33And going to the same place she might be at hopefully the same time is the best plan you have to find her.
00:44:39Well, I've tried searching for teachers in the area named Kim, so that seemed even more far-fetched.
00:44:46Yeah, there's probably a lot of them.
00:44:47Yeah, I even thought about going to schools and asking around, but...
00:44:50I can see the strange man arrested at elementary school headline now.
00:44:55All right. Where are we going to eat?
00:44:57I was thinking tacos?
00:44:59Always.
00:45:00All right.
00:45:10Ah, here we go.
00:45:12Hey, where's Glenn?
00:45:13He's running late again.
00:45:14Vicki texted 15 minutes ago, and they're on their way.
00:45:17Is Zach coming?
00:45:18I can still get another ticket.
00:45:20No, Mom.
00:45:21He loved it last year.
00:45:23Oh, here you are.
00:45:24Hi. Hey.
00:45:25Sorry.
00:45:26Were you all together?
00:45:27Yes, these seats right here.
00:45:28Oh, thanks for getting the tickets.
00:45:29Yeah.
00:45:32Mom.
00:45:33Hmm, what is it, honey?
00:45:34I don't feel good.
00:45:36She looks a little green.
00:45:38Oh, what's wrong?
00:45:39My stomach hurts.
00:45:42Maybe we should take her home.
00:45:44But the play.
00:45:45Maybe just give her a moment.
00:45:46Come here, Annie.
00:45:48Oh, she feels a little warm.
00:45:51I guess we better pass on tonight.
00:45:53No.
00:45:54You two stay.
00:45:55I'll take Mia home and get ready for bed.
00:45:57Oh, no, I can take her.
00:45:58You guys have a night out.
00:46:00Is that okay, Mia?
00:46:02Can we go now?
00:46:05Are you sure?
00:46:06Yeah.
00:46:07So, Mia, you ask Aunt Kim to call us if you need us to come home early, okay?
00:46:13Bye, you guys.
00:46:14Thanks, Kim.
00:46:15No problem.
00:46:18Looks like I have two extra tickets.
00:46:20Oh, do you want me to see if the box office will issue a refund?
00:46:22It isn't worth it, Catherine.
00:46:24I'll take care of it.
00:46:25You settle in.
00:46:28How's your tummy?
00:46:29Can you walk to the car all right?
00:46:30I think so.
00:46:31Okay.
00:46:38There.
00:46:39Alright, let's get some tickets.
00:46:44Excuse me.
00:46:46Do you need tickets?
00:46:47Oh, we're just waiting in line to get some.
00:46:49Well, I ended up with two extra.
00:46:51Please.
00:46:52Oh, really?
00:46:53Yes.
00:46:55How much do I owe you?
00:46:56No, no.
00:46:57Already paid for.
00:46:58My daughter and my granddaughter had to leave, so enjoy the show.
00:47:02Okay.
00:47:03Thanks.
00:47:04Merry Christmas.
00:47:05Merry Christmas.
00:47:07This is great.
00:47:08You're done.
00:47:10Come on.
00:47:11Catch!
00:47:12I like to play a lot.
00:47:13Yeah, me too.
00:47:14Gonna be warm enough?
00:47:15I think so.
00:47:16Okay, go.
00:47:17Did you brush your teeth?
00:47:18Yes.
00:47:19Good.
00:47:38So, Dad?
00:47:39Hmm?
00:47:40Do you think you'll fall in love again?
00:47:44Why do you ask?
00:47:45Well, Uncle Hunter and Clarissa talk about it a lot.
00:47:54Well, how do you feel about it?
00:47:57I don't know.
00:47:58It's up to you, isn't it?
00:47:59Partially, but you come first.
00:48:01I do.
00:48:02Of course.
00:48:04Well, it's okay as long as she likes me.
00:48:08Well, that will be very easy then because everybody loves you.
00:48:15So, do you wanna fall in love?
00:48:19Is this you asking or Hunter and Clarissa?
00:48:22Me.
00:48:23Okay, just checking.
00:48:26Well, I haven't really thought about it like that.
00:48:30But yeah, I guess I do.
00:48:32I do.
00:48:33Have you met anyone?
00:48:37Um...
00:48:39There is someone.
00:48:42I'm just having a hard time finding her again.
00:48:45You...
00:48:47Just after a carter.
00:48:48Yeah.
00:48:49I guess I do.
00:48:52I do.
00:48:56Hey.
00:48:57Hey!
00:48:58I can't bury gifts.
00:48:59Not that I wanna turn these down, but why?
00:49:01For taking care of Mia.
00:49:02Aww.
00:49:03How is she?
00:49:04Ugh, she's so much better.
00:49:05Good.
00:49:06So, I never got to hear about how your date with Zach went.
00:49:09Ugh.
00:49:10Trying not to think about it.
00:49:12What are you thinking about instead?
00:49:14Hm.
00:49:15You could probably guess.
00:49:16Ha ha, Theo.
00:49:17You know, the more I say his name, the more romantic it sounds.
00:49:18So, no luck?
00:49:19No.
00:49:20Dead ends everywhere I go.
00:49:21Honestly, I...
00:49:22I don't have much else to go on.
00:49:23I mean...
00:49:24What more can I do?
00:49:25You could hire a skywriting plane.
00:49:26Yep.
00:49:27No.
00:49:28No.
00:49:29No.
00:49:30No.
00:49:31No.
00:49:32No.
00:49:33No.
00:49:34No.
00:49:35No.
00:49:36No.
00:49:37No.
00:49:38No.
00:49:39No.
00:49:40No.
00:49:41No.
00:49:42No.
00:49:43No.
00:49:44No.
00:49:45No.
00:49:46Okay.
00:49:47Not to confuse you further, but while you're trying to track down this mystery shopper man,
00:49:53do you risk missing out on a second chance with Zach?
00:49:56Do you seriously think I should consider him?
00:49:59No.
00:50:00Well...
00:50:02Yes, if you still have feelings for him.
00:50:06Right now, all I feel is awkward.
00:50:10He asked if I forgave him, and I did.
00:50:13I do.
00:50:14But that doesn't mean I still see a future with him.
00:50:17Yeah.
00:50:18Makes sense.
00:50:19What would you do?
00:50:21If you were me?
00:50:23Would you give Zach another chance?
00:50:26Or...
00:50:27Or what?
00:50:31Or ignore that crazy hope you had with someone you barely know?
00:50:36But feel like you've known forever?
00:50:40I mean, I wish it was easier to compare me and you.
00:50:43But with Glenn, I mean, he was my first love.
00:50:45He pulled me out of my shell.
00:50:48If it was me, I would probably go back to Zach.
00:50:53But that's just me, right?
00:50:55Old, shy me.
00:50:56If I was you, really you, I'd hold on to hope that I'd find you with you.
00:51:13This looks nice.
00:51:14Hey, what are you doing here?
00:51:15Are we getting lunch today?
00:51:16No.
00:51:17I mean, we can, but you know.
00:51:20What's up?
00:51:22Okay.
00:51:24I've been thinking, what do I know about being a dad?
00:51:28Oh, you're having your freak out moment.
00:51:30Did you go through this with Ashley?
00:51:31Yeah.
00:51:33You get over it.
00:51:34How?
00:51:36You just read the parenting manual.
00:51:37Really?
00:51:39You figure it out as you go.
00:51:41You may not know everything, but you make up for it by how much you love the kid.
00:51:47And you will love him or her more than you can imagine the second you hold that baby in your arms.
00:51:53Yeah?
00:51:54Yeah.
00:51:56What if I mess it up?
00:51:57Oh, you will.
00:51:58I don't want to.
00:51:59That's life, brother.
00:52:01Hey, could Clarissa and I watch Ashley more?
00:52:05You know, practice some parenting.
00:52:07You realize you're having a baby, not a nine-year-old.
00:52:10Please?
00:52:12Well, Ashley is home from school on the break.
00:52:15I could drop her off in the morning before I go and install these cabinets.
00:52:20Okay, one condition.
00:52:21Anything.
00:52:22Stop talking about my love life in front of her.
00:52:25She has ears.
00:52:27Understood.
00:52:30Are you going to be late after work today?
00:52:38No, hopefully not.
00:52:39You okay being here today?
00:52:40Um, sure.
00:52:41Can I go sledding?
00:52:42Yeah, just ask them.
00:52:43I'm sure Hunter can dig up a sled somewhere.
00:52:45Do you think we'll win the gingerbread contest?
00:52:48Oh, I don't know, honey.
00:52:49There are a lot of good houses there already.
00:52:51I hope so.
00:52:53Well, if we don't hear in a couple days, that'll be our answer.
00:52:57Good morning.
00:52:58Hey, Sharon.
00:52:59Hi, Theo.
00:53:00What are you doing here?
00:53:01Oh, Clarissa asked me to get the door.
00:53:03Great.
00:53:05Are they ready for Ashley?
00:53:07Yes, come on in.
00:53:08Both of you.
00:53:09Oh, thanks, but I gotta get back to work.
00:53:11Okay, have fun.
00:53:12Be good.
00:53:13Of course.
00:53:14Actually, feel free to give him a hard time today.
00:53:18What?
00:53:19Never mind.
00:53:20I love you.
00:53:22Bye, Dad.
00:53:23See you later.
00:53:24Bye, Theo.
00:53:32I think we make the baby room blue and pink.
00:53:35That way we're just, we're ready for the next one.
00:53:37Whoa, let's focus on the first baby for now, okay?
00:53:40We don't have to rush.
00:53:41We still have months.
00:53:42Let's just wait till we know what this one is.
00:53:44Well, all of my friends say the due date just sneaks up on you,
00:53:47and then suddenly you've got all this stuff to do to get ready,
00:53:50and I really don't want that to be us.
00:53:52Clarissa, we'll be fine.
00:53:54I promise.
00:53:55What if I get sick?
00:53:56My mom, my mom had morning sickness,
00:53:58and she said that she could hardly get out of bed for months.
00:54:01Well, so far, so good, right?
00:54:03We just, we just, we just don't know.
00:54:06And it's not just the room, okay?
00:54:08We still need to purchase the clothes and, and the strollers,
00:54:11and, uh, these harness, the harnessing things,
00:54:14and I'm not even sure, like, what they do.
00:54:16Sweetie, breathe.
00:54:17Breathe, okay?
00:54:18You're gonna have, you're gonna have a panic attack.
00:54:19I know, it's...
00:54:20It's okay.
00:54:21A lot.
00:54:22It's okay.
00:54:23Okay.
00:54:24Oh, hey.
00:54:37Hi.
00:54:38Remember me?
00:54:39Yes!
00:54:40Brachiosaurus fan.
00:54:41Yeah, my name's Ashley.
00:54:43Good to see you, Ashley.
00:54:45No school today, huh?
00:54:47Um, we have Christmas break.
00:54:49Oh, lucky.
00:54:50Wait, don't you need Christmas break?
00:54:52I do, but today's still a work day.
00:54:55But that's okay, because I like to play with all the dinosaur bones.
00:54:58I wish I could do that.
00:55:00Well, I'm sure you could.
00:55:01You know, we do have a summer program.
00:55:03You can just come on by and see what it's like to be a paleontologist.
00:55:06Really?
00:55:07Mm-hmm.
00:55:08Just tag your parents, check it out on the university's website.
00:55:11Yeah, I will.
00:55:12So, where are your parents?
00:55:15I'm actually here with my aunt and uncle.
00:55:17They had to top the sled and kill.
00:55:18Ah, those silly grown-ups.
00:55:20They cut the line to sled down too, huh?
00:55:22Yep.
00:55:24So do they know you're here?
00:55:26Um, I'm not sure.
00:55:28Well, how about we walk back that way just to make sure?
00:55:31Okay.
00:55:32How's your day going?
00:55:33Good.
00:55:37Yeah, that's better.
00:55:38Looks good.
00:55:39Yeah, it does.
00:55:40Hey, glad you like it.
00:55:42Uh, if you notice anything amiss, just give me a call, but everything should be in top shape.
00:55:46Excellent.
00:55:47Well, any specifics in terms of, like, cleaning or whatever?
00:55:50Yeah.
00:55:51Um, let me take this.
00:55:54Uh, Ben can walk you through all that, okay?
00:55:56Uh, yeah, so the best thing to use is just a damp rag.
00:55:59Hey, what's up?
00:56:00Ah, minor snag, but we can't find Ashley.
00:56:04What?
00:56:05I'm sure she's around here somewhere.
00:56:06We're both looking.
00:56:07I just thought you should know.
00:56:08Where are you?
00:56:09I'm at the sledding park.
00:56:11Uh, okay.
00:56:12I'm on my way over right now.
00:56:14Theo, I am so sorry.
00:56:15I'm sure she will be fine.
00:56:16I just...
00:56:17Hunter, less talk.
00:56:18More searching for Ashley.
00:56:19Okay, yes.
00:56:20Got it.
00:56:21Did you know crocodiles are, like, dinosaurs?
00:56:24Oh!
00:56:25Oh!
00:56:26There she is.
00:56:27You got her?
00:56:28She's on her way back right now.
00:56:29All fine here.
00:56:30Uh, sorry about the worry.
00:56:32Just make sure you don't get too close.
00:56:33Because the good thing about fossils is they don't bite anymore.
00:56:36Ashley!
00:56:37Ashley!
00:56:38Let me guess.
00:56:39You're aunt and uncle.
00:56:40Yep.
00:56:43Hey, I'm so glad you're okay.
00:56:45We've been looking everywhere for you.
00:56:47You were talking.
00:56:48I just went to the playground.
00:56:49You need to tell us next time.
00:56:51We are the worst future parents ever.
00:56:53Thanks for walking with me.
00:56:55Of course.
00:56:56It was good to see you again.
00:56:58I've been begging my dad to take me back to the museum.
00:57:01Well, you both should come.
00:57:02You could show him all the sorrow pots.
00:57:04And your ceratopsis?
00:57:07Good memory.
00:57:08Thank you so much.
00:57:09Of course.
00:57:10She is a great girl.
00:57:11Bye.
00:57:12See ya.
00:57:13Have a good afternoon.
00:57:14Bye.
00:57:23Hey, Zach.
00:57:25Tomorrow.
00:57:26Uh, yeah.
00:57:27I can come by.
00:57:28What time?
00:57:29Sweetie, we've talked about the wandering off thing.
00:57:32I know.
00:57:33But I knew I was the whole time.
00:57:35Yeah, but Hunter and Clarissa didn't.
00:57:37I left them in charge.
00:57:39They were responsible for you while I was gone.
00:57:41Or supposed to be.
00:57:44Sorry.
00:57:45At least I found a nice person to talk to.
00:57:48A stranger.
00:57:49What if they weren't nice?
00:57:51But she wasn't a stranger.
00:57:52She was the lady from the dinosaur museum.
00:57:55Okay.
00:57:56I'm just glad that she brought you back safely to Hunter and Clarissa.
00:58:00Oh!
00:58:01She invited me to come to the museum again.
00:58:03Could we?
00:58:04I don't know.
00:58:05And then we could thank her for taking such good care of me while I was lost.
00:58:11I thought you knew where you were the whole time.
00:58:14What do you think?
00:58:27This is beautiful.
00:58:29Just said the walls painted and the kitchen cabinets are new.
00:58:44Zach, I didn't know you had such great taste.
00:58:48I even had a designer come in and coordinate the colors.
00:58:51I was thinking of changing up the flooring.
00:58:53This is what it was before, but I was thinking of trying something new.
00:58:56It's nice.
00:58:57You think so?
00:58:58Yeah.
00:58:59But if you could pick, would you change it?
00:59:01Zach, I don't know.
00:59:02This is your house.
00:59:03Yeah, but I care about what you think.
00:59:05Especially if everything here could be yours too.
00:59:07Zach.
00:59:08I know, but...
00:59:11What happened to taking it slow?
00:59:13I just wanted to show you that I've changed.
00:59:18I'm serious about this.
00:59:21About us.
00:59:22I'm not running away this time.
00:59:27Uh, this seems like a really nice neighborhood.
00:59:33It is.
00:59:35I don't know what he was thinking.
00:59:39A house.
00:59:40A house!
00:59:41Yeah, it's a little bit much.
00:59:44It's kind of flattering though.
00:59:46If I felt the same way, sure.
00:59:48Was it nice?
00:59:49The house?
00:59:50Yeah.
00:59:51Ugh, but this is just so complicated.
00:59:54Kim, I hate to say it, but maybe you should consider going back to Zach.
00:59:58No, I can't.
00:59:59Because of Theo?
01:00:00No, because Zach feels this way now, but what if he suddenly changes again?
01:00:04And he's not paying attention to how I feel.
01:00:11So Theo really has nothing to do with it?
01:00:14I keep wondering why did I even meet him, you know?
01:00:18Why would I just lose the chance of it being something more?
01:00:24It's like I'm being teased, and what I want is kept out of reach.
01:00:30Aw, Kim, I'm sorry.
01:00:33I wish I had the answer.
01:00:35I beg, Nog.
01:00:37Hmm.
01:00:38Give me something to wrap.
01:00:46Dr. Fenwick, you still there?
01:00:47Yeah, I'm here.
01:00:48Oh, good.
01:00:49Uh, we just got a shipment in.
01:00:51I think it's a specimen from the Montana dig.
01:00:53I'll be right there.
01:00:55Uh, hey, let's, uh, clear space for that shipment.
01:01:00Wow, look at the teeth on that guy.
01:01:02Look at that.
01:01:03Holy smokes.
01:01:04How does he brush those?
01:01:05This is where the actual paleontologists work, like Dr. Fenwick.
01:01:08Really?
01:01:09That's neat.
01:01:10Oh, is that her?
01:01:11No.
01:01:12She might not be here today.
01:01:13Hmm.
01:01:14Well, you've been here before.
01:01:15You could give me the tour.
01:01:16Okay.
01:01:17Come on.
01:01:18Come on.
01:01:19This way.
01:01:20I'll show you.
01:01:21Come on.
01:01:22Let's go, Dad.
01:01:23Come on.
01:01:24Okay, okay.
01:01:25There's this really cool skeleton.
01:01:26It's huge.
01:01:27What's it called?
01:01:28Brachiosaurus.
01:01:29You got it?
01:01:30Yeah.
01:01:31Hey.
01:01:32Hey, you okay?
01:01:33Yeah.
01:01:34I'm good.
01:01:35Good.
01:01:36Good.
01:01:37Good.
01:01:38What?
01:01:39Let's go.
01:01:40Good.
01:01:41Good.
01:01:42Good.
01:01:43Good.
01:01:44Good.
01:01:45Good.
01:01:46Good.
01:01:47Good.
01:01:48Good.
01:01:49And anything else?
01:01:50Good.
01:01:52Good.
01:01:53Yeah.
01:01:54Good.
01:01:55Good.
01:01:56Good.
01:01:58Hey, be sure to finish your milk.
01:02:11I will.
01:02:12And then where does your bowl go?
01:02:14The dishwash.
01:02:15Mm-hmm.
01:02:18Hello?
01:02:19Hi, this is Lynn calling from the City Art Museum for Ashley regarding the gingerbread contest.
01:02:23Yeah, hang on.
01:02:24She's right here.
01:02:26Okay, we're listening.
01:02:27I'm pleased to inform Ashley that her fairy garden gingerbread house won third place this year.
01:02:33Really?
01:02:34Ted, I won.
01:02:35That's great news.
01:02:37We'll have a little ceremony with the winners this afternoon at 3 p.m.
01:02:40Do you think you can make it?
01:02:42Yes.
01:02:43Yes.
01:02:43Yes, we'll be there.
01:02:45You did it.
01:02:47Ted, I won.
01:02:49We're delighted by all the holiday spirit we see in this competition.
01:02:53The entries we saw this year were top-notch.
01:02:55We'd like to acknowledge two entries with honorable mentions.
01:03:00Candace Perez with her Marshmallow Snowman Cottage.
01:03:05And Jimmy Alta with his Army Man gingerbread house.
01:03:10Now for our winners.
01:03:12In third place, Ashley Hall.
01:03:19With her imaginative fairy garden gingerbread house, Ashley wins a gift card to them all.
01:03:24Congratulations, Ashley.
01:03:25So proud.
01:03:26In second place, we have Samuel Hazlitt.
01:03:32Okay, you ready?
01:03:34Yeah.
01:03:34One, two, three, cheese.
01:03:38Got it.
01:03:39Can we take it home now?
01:03:41Oh, no.
01:03:41We have to wait until January so everyone can see it.
01:03:45All right.
01:03:46Coat.
01:03:47So do you want to spend that gift card now or wait a little while?
01:03:51No, I better wait until January.
01:03:53I don't want to buy something I might get for Christmas.
01:03:57Good thinking.
01:03:58All right.
01:03:58Get your certificate.
01:04:00Let's go.
01:04:04I don't want to go to the museum.
01:04:06Oh, sweetie.
01:04:07You'll love it.
01:04:07I promise.
01:04:08Yeah.
01:04:08We're going to go see some cool gingerbread houses.
01:04:11Yeah.
01:04:11And hopefully find Aunt Kim's soulmate.
01:04:13Very funny.
01:04:14And then tonight we're going to go have dinner at Grandma's
01:04:17and then the rest of the day will be fun.
01:04:19I promise.
01:04:20All right.
01:04:21Good girl.
01:04:25Wow.
01:04:26See?
01:04:26Not so bad, right?
01:04:28Look at these.
01:04:29These are amazing.
01:04:30I know.
01:04:31You know, Glenn and I tried to make one last year.
01:04:33He ended up eating this with candy.
01:04:35Ha.
01:04:35Typical.
01:04:36What did you guys make?
01:04:37I made a campsite.
01:04:39With a tent?
01:04:40You are never going to let that go.
01:04:42Nope.
01:04:42Hey, look.
01:04:44Honorable mentions.
01:04:45Let's see.
01:04:46Candace Perez.
01:04:47Jimmy Alta.
01:04:49Winners.
01:04:50Ashley Hall.
01:04:52Samuel Hazlitt.
01:04:53And Yelena Ellis.
01:04:56No.
01:04:57Theo.
01:04:58Theophilus.
01:05:00Theobald.
01:05:02Nope.
01:05:03Theophilus.
01:05:04I don't know.
01:05:07Well, I'm sorry his name's not here.
01:05:09Yeah.
01:05:10At least it was worth it for Mia.
01:05:11Mia.
01:05:12Mia!
01:05:16So, tell me about the house, Zach.
01:05:19I think you should come and see it.
01:05:21I can't do it justice.
01:05:23Love to.
01:05:25That's Kim.
01:05:26I'll get it.
01:05:27Careful, honey.
01:05:29Hey, what's...
01:05:31Zach's here.
01:05:32Wait, what?
01:05:33It's kind of my fault.
01:05:35Also, Glens, I was talking to him about Zach and the house, and your mom may or may not have been right there when we were talking about it, and she got really excited to invite him over for dinner.
01:05:44I'm so sorry.
01:05:45Hi, Kim.
01:05:51Hey, Zach.
01:05:53So, Zach was just telling us all about the house he's remodeling.
01:05:58Yeah, I am so glad the carpenter came and installed the cabinets on time. You know how construction is.
01:06:03Hey, how did you like their work? Because Bill and I are thinking about remodeling this kitchen.
01:06:08No, we're not.
01:06:08Uh, yes. I've wanted to for years, and you always talk me out of it.
01:06:12That's because there's nothing wrong with our kitchen.
01:06:14Shush. Think of it as an early birthday present.
01:06:17They're great. I'll give you their number. It's Theo Hall something or other.
01:06:20Theo?
01:06:21Theo Hall Carpentry. That's it. I'll look it up.
01:06:24Catherine.
01:06:25Thank you so much, Zach. That's great.
01:06:27Catherine.
01:06:28Excuse us.
01:06:32It has to be him.
01:06:34Oh, I want to believe more than anything that that's true, but there's probably a ton of Theos out there.
01:06:37I seriously doubt that.
01:06:39You'd be surprised.
01:06:40What, did you Google him or something?
01:06:42Not important.
01:06:44Here.
01:06:46Okay.
01:06:47Does that always spell carpentry?
01:06:48Yes.
01:06:52Are there any pictures?
01:06:53Uh, cabinets, furniture.
01:06:57None of him.
01:06:58Well, I mean, it's his business, so he's probably going to be a professional.
01:07:00Look, it's in town.
01:07:02You have to go.
01:07:03What if it's not him?
01:07:04Well, I mean, it never hurts to call or, you know, show up in person.
01:07:25Hello?
01:07:25I thought the store was closed today.
01:07:29It is.
01:07:31Hi, Theo.
01:07:33Sharon.
01:07:34Hi.
01:07:35Clarissa said you were catching up on some work today, and with it being so close to Christmas,
01:07:39I thought, well, that's no fun.
01:07:41So, I brought some lunch for you and Ashley.
01:07:44Oh, thank you.
01:07:47That's nice of you.
01:07:49Uh, come on in.
01:07:51Thanks.
01:07:51Dad.
01:07:56That looks good.
01:07:58Come eat.
01:08:00I'm hungry.
01:08:02This looks great.
01:08:04Clarissa told me you love fried chicken.
01:08:07She did, huh?
01:08:08And Ashley loves brownies.
01:08:10Here, grab a plate.
01:08:11Go, go.
01:08:17See you now.
01:08:34Bye.
01:08:35Bye.
01:08:36Bye.
01:08:36Bye.
01:08:37Bye.
01:08:38Bye.
01:08:38Bye.
01:08:39Bye.
01:08:39Bye.
01:08:40Bye.
01:08:41Bye.
01:08:41Bye.
01:08:41Thank you for lunch.
01:08:59That was very thoughtful of you.
01:09:02I'm glad you liked it.
01:09:04Maybe we could do it again sometime.
01:09:05Uh, Sharon, I value our friendship,
01:09:15and I don't want to jeopardize that.
01:09:19We're practically family.
01:09:22And I... that's enough.
01:09:27Oh, I see.
01:09:30I'm sorry.
01:09:32Don't be.
01:09:35Would you do me a favor, though?
01:09:38Of course.
01:09:39If you change your mind, tell me.
01:09:43Maybe... you never know.
01:09:47I will.
01:09:49See you later.
01:09:50Bye.
01:09:51Bye, Ashley.
01:09:52Bye.
01:09:53Bye.
01:10:05Bye.
01:10:13Bye.
01:10:27Bye.
01:10:28Bye.
01:10:59Oh, Ashley.
01:11:13Merry Christmas Eve. Can we open presents?
01:11:15Oh, no.
01:11:18Just one?
01:11:20Honey, we always open one tonight.
01:11:22How about this morning instead?
01:11:25If I let you open one, will you let me sleep?
01:11:27Yeah.
01:11:29Fine.
01:11:35Wait! Don't open any. I have to approve which one.
01:11:43Nope, not that one.
01:11:46No.
01:11:47No.
01:11:48No.
01:11:49This one.
01:11:51This one?
01:11:52Or we can wait till tomorrow.
01:12:00Cool. Thanks, Dad.
01:12:03You're welcome.
01:12:04There?
01:12:06Perfect.
01:12:06Which one are you going to open?
01:12:13Oh, I don't need one.
01:12:15You have to get something.
01:12:17Do I?
01:12:17Hey, what if we did something fun tonight for my present?
01:12:29You could go back to his work after Christmas.
01:12:31What would be the point?
01:12:32To chew him out for leading you on?
01:12:34Maybe he was just being nice.
01:12:38Besides, he would think I was obsessed for dwelling on this so long.
01:12:42But after all the searching, are you really satisfied to just not know what he felt when you met a month ago?
01:12:47No. But what if talking about it makes it worse? I don't want to risk getting hurt again.
01:12:56For what it's worth, I wish he was everything you thought he was going to be.
01:13:03Thanks.
01:13:07Seeing how you feel, though, I do need to give you a little heads up.
01:13:11Again? What now?
01:13:14So your mom asked me if she thought she should invite Zach to the Santa set-off tomorrow.
01:13:19And given the latest with Theo, I told her that I thought it was a good idea.
01:13:25It's okay.
01:13:27Really?
01:13:28Not that I'm falling in love with Zach again, but I might as well make my mom happy.
01:13:34I think she likes him more than I do.
01:13:39We're supposed to go to Clarissa's parents' house tonight, and now you want to go to some Christmas village thing?
01:13:44Yeah, come on. It'd be something different.
01:13:47Is this just some way to stay clear of Sharon?
01:13:49No. We talked, and we're on the same page.
01:13:53Ouch.
01:13:54Hey, I was nice.
01:13:55Now, if you want to blame anyone, blame you and Clarissa for encouraging her.
01:14:00But no, this is something else.
01:14:03What?
01:14:06Kim.
01:14:07Let me guess. This is another place she's supposed to be if you can just happen to be there at the same time.
01:14:14She said they go every Christmas Eve, and that the best time to go is this Santa send-off thing she mentioned.
01:14:20Great. So, better odds this time.
01:14:22She really got to you, huh?
01:14:26It's been a month, and I can't stop thinking about her.
01:14:31It's not like I bore my soul to her or anything, but the way I felt around her, I can't leave that behind.
01:14:43All right, I'm sold, but what am I going to tell Clarissa?
01:14:49Or her mother? Or our mom?
01:14:51She was looking forward to a night in where she didn't have to do the cooking.
01:14:54Just invite them along.
01:14:55Not everybody's going to go for that.
01:14:57Look, we can come back after, but I have to try.
01:15:01Okay, we start with Clarissa. If we can get her on your side, the rest is easy.
01:15:07Great.
01:15:20This is impressive. I never knew about this.
01:15:23I heard they do a Christmas thing every year.
01:15:27Where's the Santa send-off? I don't want to miss it.
01:15:29Probably this way, but we've got a few minutes.
01:15:32So, have you been here before?
01:15:34No, first time. I think Mom would have really liked this.
01:15:36Oh, except the cold. But maybe next year we'll see if she wants to come along.
01:15:40Can I get a treat?
01:15:41Sure.
01:15:49Merry Christmas.
01:15:51Hello, Zach.
01:15:52Thanks for inviting me.
01:15:54We're glad you could come.
01:15:57Come on. I wonder if they have anything new in the village this year.
01:16:01Are you warm enough?
01:16:06Yeah. Thanks.
01:16:11Thanks.
01:16:13Can I have a hot chocolate with extra marshmallows?
01:16:17Make that two.
01:16:18That'll be $2.50 each.
01:16:19All right. So, $5.
01:16:22We accept tips, too.
01:16:25I accept tips if you want to round up.
01:16:28Here, I've got you covered.
01:16:31Interesting wallet choice.
01:16:33Yeah, it kind of makes you seem like a little kid, doesn't it?
01:16:38Dad?
01:16:40Sorry.
01:16:43Hey, Ashley.
01:16:44The, uh, the woman from your field trip.
01:16:47What?
01:16:49What's that?
01:16:50Santa?
01:16:51Hurry!
01:16:55Ho, ho, ho!
01:16:57Merry Christmas!
01:16:58Thank you for coming to see me all.
01:17:03Nope.
01:17:04That's close enough.
01:17:05I hope you've been good this year.
01:17:06Look at all the presents.
01:17:08I know.
01:17:08Tonight is a special night.
01:17:11The busiest.
01:17:12And one I treasure.
01:17:14My reindeer take me all around the world.
01:17:17And sometimes, I need some extra help.
01:17:21Do you know what that is?
01:17:22You, your belief in me, and your excitement for the big day tomorrow.
01:17:30So, let me hear your best train whistle.
01:17:33Toot, toot!
01:17:35Toot, toot!
01:17:37One more!
01:17:38Chin, chin!
01:17:40Now I'm ready.
01:17:42Merry Christmas to you all.
01:17:44Merry Christmas!
01:17:48Conductor, if you please.
01:17:49Nice job, nice job.
01:17:51Merry Christmas!
01:17:54Hey, Santa.
01:18:00Hey, drink that up now before it gets cold.
01:18:03It's warm.
01:18:04Oh.
01:18:05Ashley, I was going to ask you.
01:18:07The woman from the park that was also at your field trip, what was her name?
01:18:12Oh, you mean Dr. Fennec.
01:18:14Yeah, but what was her first name?
01:18:16I don't know.
01:18:18Do you remember what she looks like?
01:18:20The dinosaur lady?
01:18:21Not the best way to describe any woman.
01:18:24She's pretty.
01:18:25She has really long hair.
01:18:27That could describe half the women here.
01:18:30Anything else?
01:18:32She looks like...
01:18:34Like...
01:18:34Like her!
01:18:37Dad, that's her!
01:18:38That is her.
01:18:40That is her.
01:18:44Can we go say hello?
01:18:46Absolutely.
01:18:47Just a couple moments, folks.
01:18:51We need to wait for that bar to go up.
01:18:53Is that really her?
01:18:58Come on, come on.
01:18:59Come, enjoy.
01:19:00Okay.
01:19:01Come on!
01:19:06Where did she go?
01:19:07Oh, there she is!
01:19:12Ashley, wait for me!
01:19:15Dr. Fennec!
01:19:16Dr. Fennick!
01:19:43Ashley, hey
01:19:46Did you lose your aunt and uncle again?
01:19:51No, I'm here with my dad
01:19:52Ashley!
01:19:56Theo?
01:19:58Kim
