00:04While promoting his new film Minamata, which has yet to be released in the United States,
00:08he spoke to the Sunday Times describing his fall from Hollywood grace as a
00:12In the wake of the actor losing a libel case against British tabloid The Sun,
00:18which referred to the actor as a
00:20in an article about Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard,
00:24MGM reportedly shelved the release of the new film.
00:26Depp was also forced to exit Warner Bros. Fantastic Beasts franchise last year after he lost the case.
00:33Depp said he, quote,
00:34looked those people in the eyeballs and promised we would not be exploitative,
00:37that the film would be respectful.
00:39I believe that we've kept our end of the bargain,
00:42but those who came in later should also maintain theirs.
00:44The 58-year-old actor also addressed his standing in the film industry, saying in part,
00:49and for anything for Hollywood's boycott of me,
00:51one man, one actor in an unpleasant and messy situation over the last number of years?
00:56However, Depp noted that he is moving towards where I need to go to make all that,
