00:00I don't want to bring the mood down, but I do have a bone to pick with the Academy.
00:05Anthony Anderson shared his thoughts after the announcement of the 2022 Emmy Awards nominations.
00:12Anderson, who guest hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, opened his monologue by congratulating
00:17the Late Night Show's team on its nomination for Variety Talk Series. However, Anderson went on
00:22to point out that it wasn't quite a joyous moment for his own ABC comedy series Black-ish,
00:27which signed off in April after eight seasons and earned just two Kraft nominations for its final
00:33season. You know who did not get nominated for a primetime Emmy this morning? America's sweetheart.
00:40Me. He then addressed his mother, who was seated in the audience. Can you believe that s***, mama?
00:46Hell no. The actor continued jokingly, look, I'm not saying the voters were stupid for not
00:52nominating me or Black-ish or Tracy. I'm just saying they're racist.
00:57Anderson mentioned that three of the shows to get nominated for Best Comedy this year,
01:03HBO's Barry, FX's What We Do in the Shadows, and Hulu's Only Murders in the Building all involve
01:09murder. So Black-ish wasn't nominated, but we've been named the lead suspect in all of those white
01:15people murder shows. Black-ish was certainly not alone in feeling overlooked by Emmy voters this
01:21year. Among the notable shows to be shut out were Paramount Network's Yellowstone, FX on Hulu's
01:26Reservation Dogs, Apple TV Plus's We Crashed, and HBO Max's And Just Like That. And NBC's This Is Us
01:33also earned just a single nomination after airing its final season. To watch the full late night clip,
