00:00Ahead of Joker's world premiere at the Venice Film Festival this weekend,

00:14we now have a new look at the dark DC villain origin story.

00:22Warner Bros. dropped a brand new trailer for the film starring Joaquin Phoenix as the title character on Wednesday.

00:27The movie, set in 1981, centers on Arthur Fleck, a.k.a. Joker,

00:31a clown who dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian.

00:34When I was a little boy and told people I was going to be a comedian,

00:38everyone laughed at me. Well, no one's laughing now.

00:42You can say that again, pal.

00:44The trailer also gives us a look at Phoenix's co-stars Robert De Niro,

00:48Deadpool 2 actress Sazzy Beetz, and Glo's Marc Maron.

00:51The film has drawn comparisons to Martin Scorsese's 1982 movie The King of Comedy,

00:56which starred De Niro as an aspiring stand-up who idolizes a talk show host.

01:00In Joker, De Niro plays a talk show host and stand-up whom Arthur looks up to.
