'Saturday Night Live' favorite Leslie Jones and 'If Beale Street Could Talk' star Kiki Layne are boarding Paramount's sequel to 'Coming to America.'

00:03That's right, the Saturday Night Live funny gal and a Beale Street could talk star are
00:07joining Eddie Murphy in Paramount's sequel to Coming to America. Jones is in negotiations
00:12while Layne is already set to join Murphy in the project, a follow-up to the 1988 comedy
00:17titled Coming to America, the two being the number two. The original film followed Murphy
00:22playing Prince Akeem, a spoiled prince from a fictional African nation who shows up in
00:26Queens, New York and goes undercover by getting a job at a McDonald's knockoff while trying
00:30to find a wife. The sequel is set to follow Akeem, now set to become king, discovering he
00:35actually has a son he never knew about, a street-savvy Queens native named Lavelle. Honoring
00:40his father's dying wish to groom his son as a new crown prince, Akeem must once again
00:44return to America. Wesley Snipes is also on board for the project while Arsenio Hall is
00:49returning as Akeem's right-hand man. James Earl Jones is also making his return as Akeem's
00:54father. Layne will play Akeem's daughter, who's set to be burdened with feeling like
00:58she's the son her father never had. Meanwhile, Jones' role is being kept under wraps.
