00:00Netflix has finally revealed the cast for its highly anticipated big-budget adaptation of Neil Gaiman's beloved Sandman.
00:07It's been announced that Tom Sturridge will be top-lining the drama based on the DC Comics series playing Dream, the Lord of the Dreaming.
00:14Rounding out the cast in the dark fantasy drama is Gwendolyn Christie as Lucifer, Ruler of Hell, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, and Asim Chowdhury, among others.
00:23Netflix describes its live-action Sandman as a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama, and legend are seamlessly interwoven.
00:33The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic and human mistakes he's made during his vast existence.
00:41The role of Dream was briefly attached to Joseph Gordon-Levitt when Sandman was being developed as a feature film for New Line in early 2016.
00:49Gaiman spoke out about the exciting news, saying,
00:53Sandman landed at Netflix in June of 2019 with an 11-episode order.
