00:00What you're seeing of Henry this season is not necessarily happening.
00:08My power had been removed.
00:10There's a filofax in there. Don't worry. We're pulling it out.
00:12This is very cozy.
00:13It's nice, isn't it?
00:14Yes, I'm loving this.
00:16Jamie, so good to meet you.
00:17Nice to meet you, too.
00:17We're finally here.
00:18We are.
00:19Season five.
00:20I feel like your character, Vecna, is the one most shrouded in mystery for this final season.
00:24Do you feel like you're playing a different Vecna slash Henry to what you did previously?
00:32Vecna is still Vecna.
00:34There is all the things that I brought with me for season four are the same things that I'm bringing with me for season five.
00:41Okay.
00:41You know, he's out for blood. There is revenge.
00:44He's, you know, all that resentment is still there.
00:47When it comes to Henry, we have to, it's important for, it was important for myself.
00:53And it's important to note that this is a presentation.
00:56What you're seeing of Henry this season is not necessarily happening.
01:05Okay.
01:05Because what we saw in season four was an experience that he went through.
01:08Right.
01:09You know, it was real life with Brenner, with Eleven being in Hawkins National Lab.
01:14Whereas now, does Henry exist is the question.
01:17And so what he's presenting is this very, like, nice, nice version of himself, which ultimately underneath it, he has this drive and this motivation to win.
01:28Um, so, yeah, it's, um, it's, it's, it's, but, but, sorry, I will continue.
01:37But all the things that I started with for season four with regards to Henry, his pain, his experiences, um, are all going on as well.
01:48Okay.
01:48And I would ask myself questions, and I think it's important, you know, just sort of philosophically to ask the questions, like, of all the things that he could have created, why did he choose to recreate his house, his home, where he grew up?
02:00Things like that.
02:01Okay.
02:01Well, that was a lot for you, even, even your head, to get around, right?
02:06There's a file of facts in there.
02:07Don't worry.
02:08We're pulling it out.
02:09Yeah.
02:09Oh, my God.
02:09Yeah.
02:09Did they, when you signed up to it originally, did they tell you the full arc?
02:13Like, did you know where this was ending, or did they just tease you with a little bit?
02:17No, they didn't.
02:18They didn't tell me the full ending.
02:20Um, when I signed up for this, and when I was fortunate enough to get cast in the role, Matt and Ross, um, sat me down and ran me through the whole arc for season four.
02:30Okay.
02:31So I went into the read-through for season four going, I know everything.
02:34Uh, with five, I knew as much as everybody else did going into it, which was, um, yeah, you know, I, I felt, um, I felt sad about that.
02:45You wanted to be on the inside.
02:46Yeah, exactly.
02:47Yeah, my power had been removed.
02:48You can't have all the power.
02:50Yeah.
02:50Um, and listen, it's such a great TV character.
02:54Yeah.
02:54Like, one of the greatest, like, that has been brought, like, villains.
02:58How does it feel for you having this as part of your acting legacy?
03:02I'm just glad it worked.
03:04I really am, honestly.
03:05Like, we spent so much time creating, building in isolation, you know, away from each other.
03:15You know, Barry sculpting the character, um, along with the whole team at PGFX and Duncan included in that.
03:22Um, me building the memories of it, um, and the experience of him that I think, ultimately, I'm just glad that it worked.
03:32It has worked.
03:32Yeah.
03:33So it's a good one to have as your acting legacy.
03:35I'm happy with it, yeah.
03:36Exactly, exactly.
03:37Well, good luck with season five.
03:38Thank you so much.
03:39I can't wait to see the rest.
03:40You've teased it very well.
03:41You're welcome.
03:43Nice to meet you.
