00:09the SIR exercise, an overwhelming number of people came out and voted. In fact, it was one of the

00:15highest voter turnouts in Bihar seen certainly in the last 20 or 30 years and a large participation

00:21of the electorate ensured also a large mandate for the NDA. Let's listen into some political

00:27reactions and then we'll open this up to our guests.

00:29When you have the perfect response in your head

00:56Sources, about 10 lakh voters have been removed from the voter list in Bengal so far.

01:03The data from the initial distribution and collection of forms has indicated that around

01:076 lakh entries are those who are voters who have passed away, who are deceased voters. So 6 out of

01:1310 voters happen to be deceased voters. So 3 fifths so far at least, 6 lakh out of 10 lakh voters whose

01:20names have been removed. I want to go across to Kamalika Sengupta who has more details on this.

01:24We will try and go across to her as well. So remember, if you were to look at a comparable

01:29example in Bihar, out of the 65 lakh voters whose names were removed from the list, almost half of

01:34it, almost 50 percent of it were those people who had died. Here it seems to be slightly more than

01:40that. 6 out of 10 lakh voters are those who are deceased. 10 lakh is the number who's been deleted

01:46so far. I suspect that that number will increase manifold by the time the enumeration phase gets

01:51over, which is by the 4th of December. I want to go across to Kamalika who has more details on this.

01:56So Kamalika, the preliminary entries from the election commission seem to suggest 10 lakh

02:01wrong entries. 6 lakh out of those 10 lakh happen to be voters who have passed away. What more can you

02:07tell us? Yes, absolutely. From the sources in EC what we are getting is that right now the

02:13enumeration for distribution process is almost over. Now the collection process is almost nearing to the

02:19end. So till now, approximately they have seen that this 6, a little more than 6 lakh voters

02:26enumeration firm has not come back as signed because they are dead voters. So this is one thing

02:33which this number is coming, approximately this number is coming. And along with that, 4 lakh are

02:39those people whose names have been either shifted or there's no building or there's nobody remaining in

02:46that address, no phone calls have come. So this is when the final voter roll will be published,

02:52that's on the 9th. This is going to be one of the bases. Till now, this is the approximate

02:58preliminary data which the election commission has got that near about 10 lakh is what is till

03:06now near about 10 lakh voters names will be deleted when the final list comes out.

03:12Remember in Bihar, 65 lakh voters names were deleted.
