Students involved in a cultural exchange program met with the Saint George Illawarra Dragons team on Wednesday to talk about future pathways. Footage by Anna Warr

00:00You've got to get ready to do hardships, you know, go through and, you know,
00:03Sloney's been through a lot of it as well, you know.
00:05A lot of the demons as a young man, you've got to go home and live with it.
00:08You know, a lot of people don't get to see it.
00:10But just make sure that if you do go through that hardship and you work on yourself
00:13and you get through it, that's what it takes to be successful, whatever you guys do.

00:44I'm Coyne Campbell, I'm from Datto High School.
00:47The Educational Pathways Program to me means going up and looking at the different styles of how jobs are working.
00:56So, when we went up to, I've been on it twice now.
00:59The first time we went up, we went to the, how they picked the car and make the shirts and whatnot.
01:04The second time around, we went up and we did more cattle farming and out of the industry with the meat.
01:09And we went to the main supplier for the Audi bushmeats and stuff like that.
01:14I'm looking to go back into the schools and do Aboriginal education.
01:18Becoming an Aboriginal educator, hopefully out of high school, preferably my school up to high school.
01:23Even though I'm joking around with the teachers saying I'm going to steal a job.
01:27Hi, my name's Coyne, I go to Bolognary High School and this program is an eye-opening change for everyone.
01:32And what I want to be when I grow up is a...
01:35My name's Jeff Ward, I go to Bolognary High School.
01:38And the Educational Pathway Program what it means to me is,
01:43It means just to open my eyes to more opportunity.
01:46And what I want to be when I'm older, I want to be an NRL player.
