00:00There's a scene where I'm supposed to escape from prison and I'm climbing this wall and I did it
00:04with a broken shoulder and I don't know, it was fun. Lucas Bravo is showing a new side to himself
00:10in Melanie Laurent's freedom. The Emily in Paris star leads the action-packed film which tells the
00:15story of Bruno Sulak, a notorious real-life French criminal known for his non-violent heists on
00:21multiple jewelry stores in the 1980s. Bravo spoke to The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the film's
00:26release about fans seeing him in a new light. This role feels like such a departure from what
00:32we've seen from you before on screen. I used to you know just read a script and be like oh it sounds
00:39nice to be like a firefighter or to be a pilot. Now I just I just I just want to be moved by the
00:46script and when I read Libre I was crying at the end of it and I was like oh this is what it feels
00:53like to be deeply touched by a story. I had never heard of him before and when Melanie brought him
01:00to my attention I started you know searching and and it's just fascinating the things they did.
01:05While he spent four seasons playing Chef Gabrielle and Emily in Paris, his new role requires a bit
01:10more intense action with the actor doing a lot of his own stunts and even breaking a few bones along
01:17the way. I don't want to say too much but there's a scene where I'm falling from a building and as I'm
01:21falling I'm supposed to fall back backwards and I'm supposed to turn because my face needed to be
01:26facing the camera so we could see that I was I had been beaten up and as I'm as I'm falling and I'm
01:34trying to twist I started like just just diving my head first into this giant mattress but I was
01:43falling from such a height that as a reflex I put my arms first and my my arms can kind of went
01:49you know backwards and my shoulder was was gone and it was at the beginning first week of shooting so
01:56we pushed that falling scene to the end of shoot and I spent the entire thing just uh with like
02:02bandages and and pretending yeah. Elsewhere the star also opened up about his rapid rise to success
02:07since Emily in Paris and working with heavyweights like Julia Roberts and George Clooney who he starred
02:12with in 2022's Ticket to Paradise. Bravo specifically shouted out the advice Clooney shared with him.
02:18You can be empathetic and generous and kind also in a scene uh which is something I didn't know he's
02:26so selfless um he's gonna do everything he can to make you shine in the scene even if he has to
02:33sacrifice some lines or moments you know of his character and through that process he's gonna shine
02:38be on his own but um it it it changed my my my approach to to what it is to interact with someone
02:46in the scene. As for what we can expect from him in season five of Emily in Paris the star couldn't
02:51give too much away but praise the fandom for how much the Netflix series has connected with its audience.
02:57Having the opportunity to just escape for five hours in such a like light-hearted show is
03:05is always good you know we we need the distraction we need the escapism so I think this is what what
03:09this is what this show provides. Freedom is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video. For more on this interview
