Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski team up for the fantasy comedy, 'Imaginary Friends.'
Transcript
00:00Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski are teaming up for a new film, and it's already being
00:04snatched up by Paramount. This dream team are attached to Imaginary Friends, a fantastical
00:09comedy that quickly started a bidding war between Lionsgate, Sony and others. But it
00:15looks like Paramount will win the day. The studio is currently in the thick of negotiations,
00:20and financial terms were not disclosed. If the deals are made, Krasinski will write, direct,
00:24produce and star, and Reynolds will co-star in the Dr. Doolittle-like tale of a man who
00:28can see and talk to people's imaginary friends, befriending those that have been forgotten
00:32or discarded. But trouble brews when some imaginary friends lacking love and friendship turn to
00:37the dark side, and it's up to Reynolds' character to save the world from those that become evil.
00:42The package hit the desks of studios earlier last week, immediately sparking interest due
00:46to the names involved and the high-concept nature of the story. For Reynolds, Friends will mark
00:51the actor's second high-profile package to be sold in a bidding war in as many weeks, as
00:55Apple earlier paid a handsome price to land a comedic and musical interpretation of Charles
01:00Dickens' A Christmas Carol that Reynolds will headline opposite Will Ferrell. Krasinski,
01:05of course, established himself as a leading man and director with the runaway hit A Quiet
01:09Place and is now in post-production on a sequel. Paramount is behind the movies, and clearly
01:13the studio was keen to keep the actor, filmmaker and his family moving aggressively to snag imaginary
01:19friends away from rivals.
