00:00The first series from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Archwell Audio is finally making its debut on Spotify.

00:07The first episode of Archetypes, hosted by the Duchess of Sussex, was released this week,

00:11featuring Markle in conversation with tennis legend Serena Williams,

00:14who announced her intent to step away from the sport earlier this month.

00:18Williams revealed in the interview that she had been weighing her decision to evolve from tennis for some time

00:23and had consulted Markle and Harry.

00:25As for the decision to reveal the news in Vogue, Williams says that, too, had been in the works for a while.

00:31She recalled,

00:32I was like, if I'm going to do this, it has to be Vogue's September issue, right?

00:36She continued,

00:37It doesn't get better than that.

00:38So yeah, Anna Wintour was really grateful and super supportive and kept it secret, too,

00:43because it was like, we did that photo shoot a while ago.

00:45Archwell inked a multi-year deal with Spotify in December of 2020

00:49and released a holiday special hosted by the couple later that month.

00:52Spotify says next week's episode will feature a conversation with Mariah Carey.
