00:00You said that in your audition you felt like you kind of blacked out a bit
00:04because it was so intense. What was that scene and how did you feel when you knew you got the part?
00:09It was actually Bienvenida, which is a big number I do in the bedroom and I throw everything around
00:16and I had no idea the concept of what he was going for.
00:21He just, the director Jacques, literally said to me,
00:24act drunk and throw your shoes if you want and do all this stuff and just go crazy.
00:31And I was like, oh, okay. And I did it once and he was like, go crazier.
00:36And I was like, okay. And I went totally for it.
00:41I was standing on furniture and I black out, but I was just singing my heart out
00:46and dancing like a mad woman, I guess a drunk mad woman.
00:50And it was a very crazy experience, but I was honored when he decided to ultimately go with me.
00:59How has, I mean, executing this role as you have changed the kinds of roles you're looking to do in the future?
01:05Are you interested in more musicals?
01:07I think I'm open to anything. I truly feel like this is just, in a way, the beginning.
01:14And I hope that this, I just, I hope I continue to be inspired by great filmmakers, great partners, actors,
01:23a great, everyone, everyone is just incredible. I can't wait to do more.
01:30For some of your co-stars, this is their first time singing and performing like this.
01:33Didn't any of them ask you for tips?
01:35No, they didn't need it. First off, did you see Zoe? That girl does not need any tips.
01:40If anything, I need the tips. But she, I mean, no, everybody I thought was vulnerable and it was real.
01:47And we just did the best that we could, even if it didn't sound perfect.
01:52Coming off of your Emmy nomination, how are you feeling about the words buzz around this film already?
01:57You know, I don't like to think anything or be presumptuous.
02:01So I'm just going to say I'm so happy people are receiving it the way they are.
