00:00Malcolm is getting back in the middle.
00:02Disney Plus has ordered a short-run revival of Malcolm in the Middle.
00:06Original stars Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kazmarek are set to return with series creator Linwood Boomer,
00:13also returning as writer and executive producer of the four-episode revival.
00:17The series premiered on Fox in January of 2000 and ran for seven seasons,
00:22with Muniz starring as the genius middle child in a chaotic family.
00:26Cranston and Kazmarek played his parents.
00:28The series went on to win seven Emmys, including acting nominations for Muniz, Kazmarek, and Cranston during the show's run.
00:35Muniz has gone on to other pursuits such as NASCAR over the years, but has maintained ties with his TV dad.
00:41He still reaches out to me every couple of weeks to check in on me.
00:44He really cares about what I'm doing, comes to the races, if my band was playing, came to the shows.
00:49I mean, he's such an inspiration, and like I said, that's what I strive to be for someone else in the future.
00:54A premiere date for the Malcolm in the Middle revival will be announced later.
00:58The original series streams on Disney Plus and Hulu.
