00:00Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' inauguration ceremony is turning into a star-studded affair.
00:06It's been announced that Lady Gaga is set to sing the national anthem at the swearing-in ceremony in Washington, D.C. on January 20th.
00:13In addition, the inauguration committee also revealed that Jennifer Lopez will be set for a musical performance and Amanda Gorman will give a poetry reading.
00:21Lady Gaga also sang the anthem in 2016 during the opening ceremony of Super Bowl 50, drawing in rave reviews.
00:28Gaga has played a role during Biden's campaign, supporting the then-presidential nominee when the Democrat encouraged his supporters to cast their ballots during a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania drive-in rally.
00:39On Wednesday, President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris' presidential inauguration committee had announced a star-studded primetime special that'll serve as a capstone to the day's events, entitled Celebrating America, hosted by Tom Hanks and will air from 8.30 to 10 p.m. across five TV networks and online.
00:57The primetime event will feature appearances from the future president and VP, as well as performances by Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Ant Clemens, and other performers still to be announced.
01:09The special was developed in part because the COVID-19 pandemic is forcing many traditional inauguration events, such as live concerts and the inaugural parade, to be canceled.
01:18As a result, the organization is finding other ways to engage with Americans on the big day.
