00:00At least 13 people have been killed and 15 injured after a massive fire engulfed a high-rise residential building in Hong Kong.
00:11The blaze rapidly spread through bamboo scaffolding, leading to the evacuation of 700 residents in the northern district of Taipo.
00:20Police received multiple reports of people trapped inside the buildings.
00:25A member of the local district council told media that most of those trapped were believed to be elderly residents.
00:34As firefighters battled the inferno from ladder trucks, a 37-year-old crew member was killed.
00:42The housing complex consists of eight blocks containing almost 2,000 apartments, housing about 4,800 people, according to records.
00:51District officials have opened temporary shelters for displaced residents.
