01:32More than a thousand residents

01:33were forced to evacuate the estate

01:35as the fire spread,

01:36with many taken to temporary shelters

01:38set up by authorities.

01:40Police also evacuated nearby buildings

01:42as a precaution.

01:44The Wangfuk Court Complex,

01:46located in the Tai Po District

01:48of the New Territories,

01:49consists of eight residential buildings,

01:52all undergoing major renovations

01:54at the time of the fire,

01:55including exterior wall repairs.

01:58The buildings were covered in

01:59scaffolding and protective netting,

02:01which authorities say contributed

02:02to the rapid spread of flames

02:04from one tower to seven others.

02:06As of Thursday,

02:07firefighters were still battling

02:09the massive blaze,

02:10which ripped through the high-rise towers,

02:12sheathed in flammable bamboo scaffolding.

02:15Police have arrested three men

02:16on suspicion of manslaughter

02:18in connection with the fire.
