Transcript
00:00It is, I am in the really, really, really small minority of people that can survive that.
00:05Amelia Clark is opening up about surviving two life-threatening aneurysms.
00:09During an appearance on BBC's Sunday morning program, the Game of Thrones star shared this.
00:14It's remarkable that I am able to speak, sometimes articulately,
00:22and live my life completely normally with absolutely no repercussions.
00:25Clark first revealed that she has survived two aneurysms in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker,
00:30and indicated that the health scares began just after the success of the first season of Game of Thrones.
00:35But it was incredibly helpful having Game of Thrones to sweep me up and give me that, like, purpose.
00:45The actress also shared in the new interview that the aneurysms, essentially strokes, eliminated portions of her brain.
00:51You've seen a scan of your brain, haven't you?
00:52Yeah, and there's quite a bit missing.
00:54Literally, really?
00:56Yeah, which always makes me laugh.
00:58Yes, yeah.
00:59However, she says she no longer gives much thought to her dramatic brain mass loss.
01:03This is the brain that you have, so there's no point in kind of continually racking your brains as to what might not be there,
01:10because what you have now is great.
