00:00So many people have come on this show, I can't even tell you, half our guests have said,
00:03I don't watch the news anymore and my life is so much better.
00:07Rainn Wilson is voicing his opinion on the current state of political media
00:11and quote, left-leaning news. During a conversation with MSNBC host Stephanie
00:16Ruhle on his Soul Boom podcast, the pair discussed the differences in the way the
00:20media covers Donald Trump's presidency versus Joe Biden's time in the Oval Office.
00:25Ruhle argued that there is a current concerted effort to destroy the media that stemmed from
00:29a lot of people tuning out the news following Trump's second win and quote, the Elon Musk media
00:35machine. What we need to do is just cover what's happening in America.
00:39Wilson, however, did not agree. This is where I would push back when I see this kind of
00:45insight and passion being direct directed at the current administration and the lack of this kind
00:51of insight and passion being directed at the previous administration. I'm talking about left
00:55leaning news media organizations who are kind of like, la la la la la, everything's fine.
01:00Look, the economy's great. La la la, immigration's not that much of a problem and really being
01:05Cleopatra, queen of denial. Ruhle argued the media was critical of Biden's approach to immigration
01:10while corroborating Wilson's sentiment. The media regularly talked about the fact that Biden
01:15was not doing enough in his first two and a half years on immigration. Ruhle said what Republicans
01:21have been successful at, and they have not solved any of these issues for the American people,
01:25but they're willing to talk about some of the unpleasant things that people feel that when
01:29people say those things out loud, they're immediately called xenophobic or racist.
01:34A large majority of people who have a problem with the current immigration crisis and have for
01:38the last five or 10 years are not racist, but often kind of tarred as racist by the liberal left.
