00:00We finally know when HBO's Euphoria will head back into production.
00:04After a very long hiatus, filming on the drama's third season is slated to begin in January 2025,
00:10just about three years after the premiere of season two.
00:13You're like a relationship kind of girl, right?
00:15You guys can all judge me if you want, but I do not care.
00:18I have never, ever been happier.
00:21HBO says the whole principal cast is set to return, including Zendaya,
00:25Sidney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schaefer.
00:27A near date hasn't been set yet, but it's unlikely that Euphoria will be ready to go before late next year,
00:33which would mean a gap of up to four years between seasons.
00:36The dual writers and actor strikes of 2023 meant no work on the show,
00:40and filming was further put on hold in March to allow creator Sam Levinson more time to work on scripts.
00:45Whenever the series does return, it's likely to move the show's core cast past high school.
00:49Sources told The Hollywood Reporter in March that season three will likely feature a time jump,
00:53and that conversations between Levinson and HBO about just how far ahead to land the story
00:58had a hand in delaying filming.
01:00When it last aired, Euphoria was one of HBO's most popular series.
01:04Season two averaged better than 16 million viewers across all platforms in the 90 days after its premiere.
