This week, the singer received a ton of backlash after releasing the song Girls, which included an ableist slur.

Well, Lizzo seemed to see all of the discussions happening, and she released a statement on Monday acknowledging the harmful word in her song.

And she announced that she has a re-recorded version without the slur in it.

In Lizzo's statement, she assured her fans that she never wants to promote derogatory language.

And as a plus-size black woman, she understands the power words can have, whether it's intentional or not.
