Conservative frontbencher Sir James Cleverly says he won’t criticise Reform UK Leader, Nigel Farage, for claims he made racist remarks as a schoolboy as it is “much more reasonable to criticise him for what he has said as an adult” on his party's policies and the war in Ukraine. 00:00I'm not going to criticise Nigel Farage for what he may have said when he was a teenager
00:05at school.
00:06I think it's much more reasonable to criticise him for what he said as an adult.
00:12And I think the promises that he's making to the British people, that somehow they can
00:17have all these wonders and not actually have to pay the bill, I think is deeply irresponsible.
00:23He wants to spend a whole load of public money but is claiming that he can cut tax, which
00:28is deeply, deeply dishonest.
00:30He's basically done victim blaming when it comes to Ukraine and suggesting the West provokes
00:37Russia into invading Ukraine, all these things, completely inappropriate and he's failed to
00:42get a grip of people within his own party, people like Nathan Gill who's taking bribes
00:47from Moscow.
00:48So I'm less worried about what Nigel Farage may have said as a teenager, I think he should
00:53be held account for what he said as an adult.
