00:00The arrest is the pivotal moment in any investigation.
00:12If you get it wrong, then it's game over.
00:21Police officer with a taser.
00:24Taser, taser, taser!
00:30Taser, taser, taser!
00:44Everything they're doing is on body warm video.
00:46Police!
00:48Everything they're doing would be examined by defence lawyers.
00:52They can't make any mistakes.
00:56I haven't done any before!
01:00I haven't done any before!
01:04Outside a block of flats on the edge of town, preparations for an arrest that will rock the world of show business.
01:24the element of surprise is very important to the police because essentially if they knock on the
01:31door and then the person realizes who they are they might make efforts to conceal things or
01:36hide things they might have been doing at the time and that was very much the case here
01:40the target a 36 year old man suspected of planning to kidnap one of britain's most famous
01:49celebrities they obviously believe that this threat was imminent that's probably why they
01:54use the the knock on the door with the big red key rather than a knock on the door with a hand
01:58they wanted an element of surprise and i think you can see that on
02:28arrest him he is shocked so at the moment you're under arrest who holly willoughby i don't think
02:36i'm not gonna lie she's a fantasy of mine i mean she's actually a lot of girls
02:41polly willoughby was arguably the queen of daytime television so she was very much forefront on this
02:59morning which is a huge daytime tv show she'd been doing it for 14 years and i would say that her
03:08image was very much that of girl next door which of course gives her an accessibility to viewers
03:13and the nature of daytime television is that you get viewers that watch it all the time and they
03:18start to sort of feel that you're sort of part of their family
03:21one viewer is determined to take that familiarity to a new and terrifying level
03:31gavin plum was a severely obese man in his 30s from harlow in essex he was previously featured on
03:42various documentaries about weight loss for the bbc i only really go out my front door to put a bin bag
03:49in the bin just outside the flat and that's every few days when i'm in pain the pain gets so bad that
03:57i physically it's crippling it is physically crippling because he's spending so much time at home he's
04:06exposed to a lot of daytime television holly willoughby is essentially she has been the face of daytime tv for
04:12many many years and most days she's on his screen and he develops this obsession with her he gets
04:18really really into wanting to meet her and then subject her to horrific forms of violence
04:28more than 4 000 miles away a police officer specializing in online investigations
04:41dials into an internet chat room and spots something suspicious we don't know his real name
04:49he used the pseudonym david nelson he is an officer based in minnesota in the usa as part of a unit which
04:56specializes in covert operations online looking into potential groups that are organizing acts of
05:03violence acts of terrorism human trafficking sexual violence all of that sort of thing the real dark
05:09underbelly of the internet the undercover officer was online and seen some pictures posted of holly
05:15willoughby and there was a quite an alarming caption saying like the one that i want
05:20he really thought he was going to get her and i believe that's what caught the officer's eye and then
05:28of course he's investigated a little bit further and and pursued what he had in front of him
05:31the internet chat room is titled abduct lovers posting pictures of holly the user calling himself
05:45big bear 34 1987 real name gavin plum now being secretly pursued by undercover officer david nelson
05:56he's not aware of who holly willoughby is he's based in america he doesn't really have much exposure
06:05to the uk television scene so he's seeing all these photos and then he's seeing plum's messages about her
06:11about what he wants to do to her that officer acted very quickly i mean he's from the states i don't even
06:19know if he knew who holly was but he absolutely knew that what he was seeing online he was very serious
06:26i think for nelson he's probably seen a relatively young very attractive blonde lady you know she's
06:34beautiful isn't she don't forget this cop will also be naturally inquisitive he's a police officer
06:40we're all we're all keen to learn more and want to know what people are doing so i think he's probably
06:44seen the pictures seen the caption and felt the threat was imminent and that he was going to act on
06:50it encouraged by david nelson's interest gavin plum reveals more plum even shares a video of his
07:06equipment to spread out so the chloroform the cable ties the handcuffs all that sort of thing
07:12hands and ankle shackles ring and ball gag three lots of rope metal cable ties two sets of handcuffs
07:23he'd bought 400 cable ties he'd gone into detail about the address of where she lived he was talking
07:29about moving holly once she was unconscious i think that's probably the point you thought hang on this
07:34guy's a bit serious growing more convinced the plot is real undercover officer nelson raises the stakes
07:48to gain the trust of gavin plum nelson claims that he's really interested to come over to the uk from
07:55the usa to help him out and he even goes as far as presenting plum with a picture of a ticket a flight
08:02ticket to the uk it's not a real one but it's enough to convince plum that he's serious about coming
08:09over here to which plum gets very excited and the message plum sends back once he's had all this is
08:14shit it's actually happening and it goes from there obviously he's engaged with him a little bit which
08:21he would do you'd tickle it and see what's happening he pushed it a little bit further
08:25he learns big bear's real name is gavin plum and here's his plan to render holly and her husband
08:34unconscious then kidnap the tv star from her home in west london he's talking about logistics that it's
08:42a night where they're going to take her to how they're going to subdue her and it's all what he's
08:47talking about it's horrific unknown to gavin plum he's being recorded right uh plan of action i'll
09:00give you a brief rundown don't worry mate we've got that sorted it's all going to be done what we're
09:06going to do is this this and this basically we're going to hit hit it at night less traffic on the road
09:15etc um chloroform both of them that way then they can both be easily restrained from a professional
09:25standpoint of course you have to take these threats seriously he's saying he's going to do it
09:31so why would we not believe it we're then going to force her to make a video just saying that she's
09:37with us under our own free will and she's really consenting into everything we do to her so that covers us
09:49this absolutely had to be taken seriously because he was having conversations online in a forum called
09:54abduct lovers and he was having a conversation with an undercover police officer basically saying
10:01this is what i want to do we're going to go there in the night we need two lots of chloroform uh he
10:07knew that she didn't have cctv on her house i mean he had a level of detail that was quite astounding
10:16i still think my place might be better because there's cameras everywhere it's just a temporary
10:20thing holder here you've got bed you've got warmth etc need you there mate obviously the chloroform
10:26it's going to be fun picking the outfits is going to be fun so if you can get to the uk uh to england
10:33that'd be awesome because then you can be part of it david nelson an undercover police officer from
10:40the other side of the world he's probably sat back for a minute and thought i've just come across
10:45something here that i was not expecting today plum was certain that he wanted to do this nelson felt that
10:51the threat was imminent and that he was going to act on it there is a lot of evidence in this case
10:56that they need to get quickly
11:16third attempt 2023 all right
11:19gavin plum is confident he's found an accomplice to help him kidnap itv this morning presenter holly
11:27willoughby but plum doesn't know that he's been tricked by an undercover officer in the usa
11:36using the false name of david nelson
11:42nelson felt the threats coming from plum were imminent you know plum had said how excited he was you could
11:47tell how excited he was right uh plan of action i'll give you a brief rundown basically we're going
11:55to hit hit it at night less traffic on the road etc thank goodness that a gavin plum ended up speaking
12:04to an undercover officer in america and b that that that officer acted very quickly and he reported it to
12:11the fbi the u.s authorities under the instructions of david nelson will have informed scotland yard
12:25your advice is to safeguard her and then go and investigate him immediately
12:30because plum is based in essex scotland yard passed this intelligence to essex police
12:42who then trace plum's address and they go to his address to arrest him
12:46the arrest team is instructed to take no chances as it's police don't know how dangerous he is he
13:00could have weapons so they have literally gone in all weapons blazing to make sure that he is secured
13:04as soon as they clam vison they actually arrested him at night which is very rare you would normally
13:12wait you know a quick six o'clock in the morning knock on the door where you know he's going to be
13:15at home but they didn't want to waste a second with him which tells you quite a lot they wanted
13:19to get into the address they wanted to secure all of the devices and get him in custody before there
13:25was either things deleted or he went out to try and commit this offense there was a lot of officers
13:30there again i think that's probably to do with the search of the property rather than
13:33the physical arrest of plum there they go
13:41police stay where you are do not touch anything what's going on
13:47what the hell is going on right you're under arrest on suspicion of conspiracy
13:55she's got the cuff straight on him the arresting officer she's literally walked in and cuffed him
13:58before she's even said anything to him the room is a complete tip there's just stuff absolutely
14:05everywhere and he's obviously not got much clothing on unfortunately
14:10it's like when he's asking what is going on like
14:39he already knows what's happening but he's trying to make out he doesn't like he's like doing this
14:44force it seems really false and overacting but it's like he does know already and then
14:58when she's explaining it to him he's just like pretending he's all like shocked and trying to do
15:01these facial expressions but he's not really convincing yeah so at the moment you're under
15:07arrest he realizes that the police may well have a lot of information on him that he thought was
15:18completely anonymous and private and at that point the penny is dropping that he's in very very hot
15:25water he was trying to work out in his own head what his story was going to be the officer was
15:30very good with him she was explaining that you've been you're going to be arrested you're going to
15:34be interviewed um over the threats of kidnap for holly willoughby that's the allegation
15:43already it looks like he's thinking where have they got that information from who's who's told
15:47them what one of my accomplices that i've been speaking to has told them this it's like he
15:51feels like someone sort of like grasped him up or dobbed him in rather than actually you've done it
15:56all yourself and unravelled this yourself it's like he's a bit confused by it like i said it'll be
16:02time to be in custody um and you'll be interviewed about it um i'm not going to tell you any further
16:07than that at this current time okay okay then that is the allegation i'm not gonna lie she's a fantasy
16:17yeah i'm not gonna lie she's a fantasy of mine she's the fantasy of a lot of guys isn't she um
16:23uh yeah i mean
16:28it's just yeah i think he just genuinely has no idea of what he's done and what's about to hit him
16:38which is the uh the full might of the law thank goodness
16:41for someone who then goes on to plead not guilty you would think that perhaps um that's not the
16:52right thing to say when you're accused of wanting to try and kidnap her that'd be the last thing on
16:58your mind if you're getting arrested for kidnap this is serious but all he still wants to talk
17:02about is that he fancies her and he's obviously crazy like he's absolutely deluded he's almost pretty
17:08much banged to right straight away it's it's damning it's tapping
17:16gavin plum then appears to cooperate but knows the arrest team is close to finding even more
17:22compelling evidence mate if you're not telling what i'm opening this vote here as you said the reason
17:28oh you're just about to go to bed the reason they're going to try that is because because of the
17:32offense that you've been arrested for we need to make sure that we can gather as much evidence as
17:35you can as quickly as you can they need to secure all the evidence before anything is potentially
17:39tampered with or moved and they were right to do that because they broke in and he had no time to
17:45put his phone away you've got no reason his phone was right there with these chat logs open so that's
17:55very crucial evidence which they captured straight away now police build a much bigger case that gavin
18:05plum planned not just kidnap but also rape and murder
18:12so we're in the cells now and plum is a very different man to how he was when police were breaking
18:17down his door i think deep down he probably at this point knows what he's done is illegal but
18:29he's not willing to admit that and he still hasn't to this day
18:33after the arrest the key question for the trial was gavin plum a serious threat
18:49gavin plum is over 30 stone he's very much obese not physically capable in the slightest and then he is
18:57talking about vaulting a wall around someone's house breaking into their house subduing holly and her
19:03husband then taking holly away bundling her into a car all of this without any alarm being raised
19:11so the defense went very hard on the notion that this was a fantasy
19:16the prosecution claimed that despite his size gavin plum did intend to kidnap holly willoughby
19:30hearing all these facts of cable ties chloroform day-to-day living cameras he's got somebody flying
19:36from america to help him his excuse of his weight isn't going to cut it he had intent he was going to
19:42carry this out and he had got someone with more physical ability to help him and yes the defense
19:47are saying he you know he can't physically do it no he couldn't but he had asked someone else to do it
19:53with him you might look at gavin plum and think this man could never you know he's not even going to
20:00leave his house how could he do any harm on anybody anybody who thinks that has never been the victim
20:06of a stalker for a start you know their actions get inside your head and when they know where you live
20:13and when they have a level of detail about your life that they really shouldn't have because they've
20:19gone looking for it and they obviously have means of getting it trust me it's very serious and it should
20:27be treated as such a 37 year old man has been jailed for life serving a minimum of 16 years for plotting to
20:38kidnap rape and murder television presenter holly willoughby gavin plum from harlow in essex assembled a
20:47toolkit for highly sexualized violence but he was arrested after he unwittingly disclosed his plans online
20:55to an undercover police officer in the u.s speaking from experience officer nelson did an incredible
21:04job i think he's used his investigative ability in his you know his mindset was fantastic because he's
21:11just he just knew it was something to work with um and i think he did exactly the right thing
21:18it was revealed that everywhere he went gavin plum was a danger twice carrying imitation
21:25guns he tried to kidnap women on local trains at the nearby shopping precinct he imprisoned two 16 year
21:33old girls after his arrest police found 10 000 photographs of holly willoughby in his flat
21:45what struck me about gavin plum when i first saw the arrest footage was just how
21:50how sort of mundane and ordinary he seemed and to think that somebody like that had such
22:00a terrible impact on the life of somebody much loved by the nation was was almost hard to believe at first
22:11after 14 years holly willoughby left this morning immediately after the arrest of gavin plum
22:17her statement said i now feel i have to make this decision for me and my family
22:24today an itv spokesperson has released a statement saying this news has come as a huge shock to
22:30everyone at this morning and itv we are providing all of the support we can to holly and her family at
22:37this incredibly distressing time everyone i know messaged holly just to say we are so sorry that you're going
22:46through this and you know hope you're okay uh i mean it's terrifying and she's got young children
22:54and all she does is appear on television do her job go home does the school run and to be subjected to
23:02this sort of psychological terror actually that's what it is um no one deserves that and you know it
23:11absolutely should be treated very seriously by both the police and the judiciary and then i'm very glad
23:16that in this case it was
23:27i just found a body right okay a body is it are they breathing no they're dead they look like
23:43they've um possibly been there like a few days or something right and stuff right okay bear me a second
23:50let's pop this one police called to a uh reports of a body found near the bennett road area of solcombe
23:59on the 27th of june and our initial inquiries have identified that female as me chong a 67 year old
24:07from the wembley area of london who was reported missing in london on the 11th of june
24:11for 16 days me chong known as deborah chong has been missing
24:27nine days later police go to arrest a suspect
24:33in this case their suspicion fell on jemma mitchell
24:37it was a dramatic police rage they turned up at her house they rammed the door down
24:52police
24:53so
25:10so
25:14all right jemma that's moment i'm russian zusp시죠 of murder okay you don't have to say anything but you
25:19I'll mention one question, something which you later rely on in court.
25:22Anything you do say may be given the evidence, OK?
25:24Once you're in the cuffs.
25:27I'm going to explain everything to you, OK?
25:30Shall I get some shoes?
25:31If you want to one sec.
25:34Who's inside at the moment?
25:35I'm mother.
25:36Your mother, OK?
25:40As an investigator, a murder investigator for me,
25:43this was one of the most important stages of an investigation,
25:48is that arrest?
25:50All right, Gemma, at this moment, I'm resting on the suspicion of murder.
25:53There's no replicating, standing in front of them,
25:56delivering those words and looking at them in the eye.
25:59How do they respond?
26:01What am I seeing?
26:03Gemma Mitchell's reaction, for me, is one of a guilty person.
26:07OK.
26:08Shall I get some shoes?
26:08Sorry.
26:09What?
26:09If you want to one sec.
26:11There's no questions being put to the officer.
26:14There's no shock.
26:15There's no reaction that I would expect to see in someone who's completely innocent
26:19being arrested for the most serious crime you can be arrested for
26:24and just accepting it.
26:25I wouldn't, would you?
26:29Gemma Mitchell was born in Australia.
26:32She was highly educated.
26:34She then came over to the UK with her mother when her parents separated.
26:38She started to study at King's College London in human sciences and significantly there was
26:44a module within that course where she learnt to dissect a human body.
26:51She also was a trained osteopath and she was a devout Christian.
26:56Gemma Mitchell and Deborah Chong met through a church group.
27:01Both of them committed devout Christians.
27:04Very quickly, over a few months, they became very close friends and there was evidence of
27:11that.
27:11There were hundreds of messages sent between the two of them.
27:30Deborah Chong has been missing all day.
27:32Deborah's lodger then arrives at home in the evening and he notices that Deborah's not
27:41there.
27:42He notices also that her glasses and her mobile phone are still in the house and he rings
27:49police and reports her as missing.
27:51The next day, the lodger decided to message Deborah's good friend, Gemma Mitchell, just to see whether
28:05she had an idea of where Deborah could be.
28:08And Mitchell responded with a text message saying that Deborah decided to go away.
28:13She'd gone to visit friends and she was going there for a year and it was somewhere near the ocean.
28:21And that message clearly from Gemma was to try to reassure this lodger.
28:27For two weeks, no one sees or hears anything from Deborah Chong.
28:32But when her body is discovered in the seaside resort of Sulcombe, Devon, a murder inquiry begins
28:40It will be the metropolitan police responsibility for investigating the crime because, given all the circumstances, that is where the murder is likely to have taken place.
28:54A murder investigation team of roughly about 20 detectives, one of the most important roles in this investigation would be that of the CCTV officer, which would be a detective constable and it would be their responsibility to collect CCTV and then viewing it, understanding what the footage shows.
29:14The CCTV in this case was hugely important, especially around the movements of Gemma Mitchell.
29:32On June the 11th, 2021, Gemma decides to leave her house quite early on in the morning at around half past six.
29:40Next, police discover CCTV showing Gemma Mitchell wearing a face mask and a beanie.
30:10She is taking that suitcase to Deborah Chong's house.
30:22She's then spotted leaving the house, dragging along not one but two suitcases.
30:33When she had taken it from her house, she didn't have any problems dragging it along.
30:37After she left Deborah's house, it's very clear she's having difficulty trying to drag it along.
30:44It looks very heavy and she's having difficulty manoeuvring it.
30:48One of them had the body of Deborah Chong.
30:53Gemma had just murdered her.
30:54It was clearly something in there that was very heavy and she's having to stop and then she phoned someone.
31:05She was struggling to move it.
31:07She had to kick the wheels to get it to move.
31:10She then tries to get a taxi at one point.
31:12The other suitcase she's got in that suitcase were lots and lots of documents, personal documents belonging to Deborah.
31:25In this bit of footage, she's left one of the suitcases on the edge of the verge and she's dragging up the other suitcase.
31:32And then she spends a good couple of hours dragging the suitcase, which had Deborah's body in it.
31:46A taxi arrives.
31:48The driver needs help loading the heavy case into the boot.
31:52It will be 16 days before it's seen again.
31:55Salcombe is a long way from anywhere.
32:15It finds itself in the bottom right-hand corner of South Devon.
32:19It's a very beautiful place with lots of sandy beaches and a reputation for some really expensive houses.
32:26Remember, this was not long after Covid as well.
32:29This is June 2021, where people would have been enjoying their staycations, perhaps unable to go abroad,
32:36and just really wanting to have a bit of relaxation time by the coast.
32:41And what better place to go than beautiful Salcombe?
32:44It is about as far as you can imagine from the type of place where you would expect to find a body.
32:52This body looks like it's been there some time because of the amount of decomposition she can see.
33:23Gemma Mitchell had kept the body at her house in London for two weeks,
33:27and most of the decomposition would have occurred there.
33:40To cover up her murder of Deborah Chong, Gemma Mitchell devised an extraordinary plan.
33:45She hired a car in a false name.
33:51She left her phone at home so that she was leaving no trail in her mind of going to Salcombe in Devon,
33:59which is about 200 miles from London, so a huge distance.
34:02And she hired quite a large car, a Volvo SUV.
34:10Detectives discover more CCTV, this time recording Gemma Mitchell near home, loading a suitcase into the hire car.
34:18She's trying to lift it up, having a lot of difficulty.
34:25It's clearly very heavy, with Deborah's body in, into the back of the car.
34:30She keys into the sat-nav, Salcombe, North Sands, Cliff Road.
34:40But close to her destination, a problem, a flat tyre.
34:45She was helped by an AA technician at a garage a few miles outside Salcombe.
34:55And he noted how there was a smell in the car,
34:58and how when he came to put the spare wheel back in its normal place,
35:02Gemma Mitchell was deeply uncomfortable with that,
35:05and asked him instead to put it on the back seat,
35:08something he said he remembered thinking was very strange at the time.
35:12But we can only assume that the reason Gemma Mitchell did not want that wheel to go back in its rightful place
35:18was that the body, or at least some parts of it, were in the boot of her car.
35:27Next, police find CCTV of Gemma Mitchell's hire car, heading towards the seafront.
35:35And she drives around a bit there,
35:38and then she makes the decision to dump Deborah's body in woodland.
35:49About 40 minutes after she arrives,
35:52her car that she's using is seen again, leaving the area,
35:56and then she makes her way back to London.
36:01And I just found the body.
36:02But there is an even more gruesome fact about the discovery.
36:10The head is missing.
36:12No, they're dead.
36:13They look like they've possibly been there, like, a few days or something.
36:20It took some time and a police search
36:23to find Deborah's head some ten feet away from Deborah's body.
36:28Gemma Mitchell was a trained osteopath,
36:37and she got a first-class honours degree at King's College.
36:41And as part of her training, she learnt how to dissect human bodies.
36:46This was an idyllic seaside place that general crime doesn't happen,
36:55let alone murders.
36:56Let alone murders involved bodies with decapitated heads.
37:00When she murdered and dismembered Deborah,
37:12Gemma Mitchell suffered an injury herself.
37:15This would give the police video team more evidence.
37:20Later in the evening, this is inside St. Thomas' Hospital,
37:24and you can see she's got something wrapped around one of her fingers.
37:29Almost certainly in the process of attacking, killing and subduing Deborah,
37:36she'd broken her finger.
37:38It would have been a spanner in the works, if you like,
37:40so she would have had to have thought about,
37:42well, under what circumstances could I have broken my finger?
37:45And she told the hospital that it's because she had shut her finger in a car door.
37:55All right, Gemma, at this moment, I'm resting on suspicion of murder.
37:58During the arrest, the bandaging is still visible on Gemma Mitchell's left hand.
38:03I'm going to explain everything to you.
38:06OK?
38:06Shall I get some shoes?
38:07Yeah, sorry.
38:08What?
38:08If you want to one sec...
38:09Just look on the side.
38:10Who's inside at the moment?
38:11My mother.
38:12Your mother?
38:12It's just one moment in an arrest that points to Gemma Mitchell's guilt.
38:23What we see is the officers are turning up with what is referred to in the Metropolitan Police
38:28as an enforcer.
38:31Essentially, it's like a battering ram.
38:33I think the decision to use the enforcer was because they wanted to get hold of the evidence
38:40before Gemma Mitchell could destroy it.
38:43Gemma, do you want to come up?
38:44Yeah, sure, sure.
38:45All right.
38:46Just so you see your hands.
38:47All right, Gemma.
38:48As soon as Gemma Mitchell comes to the door, she's compliant.
38:52She's not in a panic.
38:53She's not violent.
38:53She's not obstructing them in any way.
38:56So that allows them to then engage with her in terms of why they are there.
39:01All right, Gemma, at this moment, I'm resting on a suspicion of murder.
39:04Okay?
39:05You don't have to say anything.
39:06She physically kind of moves back.
39:08She's almost surprised.
39:10Clearly, it's all an act, but she is very calm and a real contrast to how the police try
39:16to knock down the front door in her house.
39:21Inside, police discover the documents taken away in the second suitcase.
39:25Financial records of Deborah Chong's £700,000 estate, recently updated.
39:33They find a will that was forged by Gemma,
39:37and the will said that 95% of Deborah's estate would be left to Gemma,
39:43and 5% would be left to Gemma's mother.
39:46That will was forged after Gemma murdered Deborah.
39:50So that was a really significant piece of information that they found at the property.
39:55Significant, police found, because Gemma Mitchell was banking on money that Deborah had offered her.
40:03The roof of Gemma Mitchell's house needed fixing, but she claimed she was out of money.
40:10Deborah offered Gemma around £200,000 to help her renovate and finish the work on Gemma's house.
40:18At one point, Deborah went to have a look at Gemma's house, and it was a complete tip.
40:23It was like a building site, and it was that visit that seemed to change her mind.
40:30Deborah said to Gemma, I'm not going to give you the money.
40:33There was a message exchanged between the two of them,
40:36and Deborah was clearly telling Gemma to sell the house,
40:40and that clearly triggered something in Gemma.
40:45Gemma Mitchell was determined to get the money promised to her by Deborah.
40:50Gemma Mitchell decided to hatch a plan where she would take that money anyway.
40:56But that would involve murdering Deborah.
41:02Deborah Chong, detectives learned, had been a vulnerable target.
41:06She had a number of mental health issues.
41:10She was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
41:13She also was referred to a local community mental health centre,
41:18and that was because she was sending messages to the then Prince Charles.
41:23She thought that she could communicate with him through YouTube.
41:26She was also sending messages as well to Boris Johnson.
41:29So she was a vulnerable woman who was trusting of other people.
41:36In custody, Gemma Mitchell is questioned about driving Deborah's dead body to Sulcum,
41:43and her strange behaviour when her car had to be fixed.
41:48And they've said that the person driving the Volvo
41:53waited in the car all that time with the windows down,
41:59and the front door opened, the passenger door opened when it was literally chucking it down with rain,
42:07and it was windy.
42:09Why is that, Gemma?
42:12No comment.
42:13The car stank, didn't it, Gemma?
42:16No comment.
42:17Stank of a dead person.
42:19No comment.
42:20Stank of Deborah's decomposing body.
42:23No comment.
42:23Is that right, Gemma?
42:30No comment.
42:35At the Old Bailey today, a woman has been found guilty of murder
42:40and jailed for life, serving a minimum of 34 years.
42:44Gemma Mitchell, aged 38, an osteopath from north-west London,
42:50murdered a fellow churchgoer and concealed her body 200 miles away.
42:56I covered the trial, and it was gruesome, grisly details that were really horrific.
43:04All right, Gemma, at this moment, I'm resting on a suspicion of murder.
43:07OK, do you have to say anything?
43:08This case was about the ultimate betrayal of friendship.
43:13And it's not every day you see a case like that at the Old Bailey,
43:17you know, one so horrific, where you're listening to evidence about a woman being murdered
43:22and then decapitated by her friend, stuffed in a suitcase,
43:26and then her body dumped in woodland.
43:28And at the target, she said,
43:45or raised seeing, as we schon see a case like that prize
43:47is a real-life.
43:49When foi a woman being murdered,
43:52they were another man who faced with her at the Old Bailey.
