USC Trojans Defensive Tackle Devan Thompkins, coach Lincoln Riley, and quarterback Dante Moore discusses the sequence that caused game separation. Riley talks about small things that led them to their loss but he emphasized that the game seemed even for most of it.

00:00Lincoln, with three losses, it seems like the playoff is probably a round of possibility.
00:05What's the message to the team going forward?
00:08Yeah, we don't make our plans contingent on how things go.
00:14Like how we play is just how we play.
00:17This is USC.
00:19The standard here is incredibly high.
00:21It's incredibly high in our locker room.
00:23So we'll start preparing for UCLA on the plane,
00:26and we'll get ready for that one and then figure it out after that.
00:28And special teams there between the kick and the punt return, a couple other things, any theme there?
00:36No, I mean, our kicker's been one of, if not the best in the country all year.
00:40I mean, he didn't hit the ball bad.
00:42It just caught the bar and popped back out.
00:47Now the punt return, we hit kind of a low-line drive punt,
00:51and it was probably our worst coverage of the day on top of the punt being the low-line drive.
00:55And so it's kind of one as a punter that you try to avoid because it gets down fast,
01:00and there's going to be a lot of room.
01:01And then we got held up at a couple of spots, and we did not do a good job leveraging the ball.
01:07So, yeah, obviously it was a huge, huge play in the game.
01:10I mean, you know, they're a good offense, good team.
01:13You definitely don't want to give them something like that.
01:14So that sequence, again, to me, both teams kind of had their moments outside of that to me.
01:23There were some moments where they outplayed us.
01:25There were some moments where we outplayed them.
01:27That sequence to me was the one where the real separation in the game occurred.
