00:00On Friday, we get the multi-time Super Bowl champions,
00:04but coming off of a Super Bowl loss,
00:05Kansas City Chiefs hosting a division rival.
00:08Well, not hosting, but playing a division rival
00:09in Brazil in the LA Chargers.
00:12Currently a field goal number, Joe,
00:15total at 45 and a half.
00:18I want to start with the big Rasheed Rice news
00:19that we recently heard.
00:21We'll be suspended the first six games
00:24of this NFL season.
00:26What are your thoughts on the Chiefs
00:28going the first six without Rasheed Rice?
00:31It's the way they've been for all of the last year, right?
00:34I mean, so does that offense look like...
00:37Well, things weren't great when he was gone.
00:40No, they weren't.
00:41And it was a, what, 16-14 game?
00:43The last time they played in Arrowhead.
00:45This game's overseas on a neutral field.
00:48But again, if we're talking Pat Mahomes,
00:50we're talking big picture,
00:51how big of a blow is a six-game suspension
00:54to Rasheed Rice?
00:55It's huge in terms of, you know,
00:57just the quarterback-to-wide receiver relationship.
01:00You talk about Marquise Brown
01:01that never got going last year.
01:03Xavier Worthy now is the guy.
01:06And can Xavier Worthy be that pure number one,
01:09that Tyree Kill game-stopper
01:11that we think he could be, right?
01:13He's a little bit low in body size.
01:15Hopefully he could put in some pounds
01:17in the offseason,
01:18at least get up to like 175, 180.
01:21Because if that's the case,
01:22I think he could be a 1,200-yard receiver this year
01:26if they utilize him in the offense.
01:28I really believe that.
01:29I think it's,
01:30go back to the days of Pat Mahomes in Kansas City
01:33where they chucked it 45 or 50 times a game.
01:36I don't believe in the rushing attack.
01:37I still think they need a pure number one,
01:40not buying into Pacheco
01:41and the running backs by committee.
01:43But again, I think they'll be there,
01:46but they'll miss him in the first six games
01:48of the regular season,
01:49especially when you're looking for continuity.
01:51So I think for Kansas City,
01:53it worked out as well as it could
01:55in that you'd rather just say,
01:56look, like you said, it's a good point.
01:58We didn't have him last year.
01:59We're kind of used to not having him.
02:01Let's not do this thing
02:01where we have him for three games,
02:03then we miss him for six,
02:04then we have him again.
02:05Let's not do all that, right?
02:06I think that that is well said.
02:09I do think the first six games
02:10for Kansas City are difficult games.
02:12Oh, yeah.
02:13I think, listen, you know,
02:14this is a team who does play a first-place schedule,
02:17but I have said this.
02:19I actually think they were given
02:21a nightmare of a schedule spot
02:24week two hosting Philadelphia
02:26for the Super Bowl rematch
02:27because you would think
02:29if you play Friday in Brazil,
02:31at minimum,
02:32you will not be at a rest disadvantage.
02:35They are because Philly
02:36is playing on a Thursday night.
02:38Plus, you have that travel coming back.
02:40Remember last year, Philadelphia,
02:42now it was a fluky loss,
02:44but they lost their game
02:45coming home from Brazil
02:46to the Atlanta Falcons
02:47in their own building.
02:49If you're Kansas City
02:50and you do drop this opening game
02:52to the Chargers,
02:54again, it is not a lock
02:55that they just beat
02:57the Philadelphia Eagles.
02:58There's no way you could view it as that.
03:00And all of a sudden,
03:01if you're 0-2,
03:02those are unfamiliar waters
03:04somewhat for Philadelphia
03:06with a stretch of games
03:07that would still include
03:09Baltimore coming to your building,
03:11a Monday night road game
03:12against the Frisky Jacksonville group,
03:14and then hosting again
03:16a team in the Detroit Lions
03:17who's beaten you before recently
03:19in this building.
03:20So,
03:21I think it is a smoother result,
03:24but I don't think
03:25the Chiefs starting
03:26to say the Chiefs
03:27will start 3-3.
03:29I don't think that's disrespectful.
03:31I think that's understanding
03:32the moment.
03:32And they have Washington
03:33on there as well.
03:34Washington
03:35at the end in Buffalo
03:37with Josh Allen.
03:38That's not an easy schedule.
03:40I will say this, though.
03:41I think the Philly game
03:43is more important
03:45than that week one matchup
03:46in L.A.,
03:47in Brazil.
03:48And I'll tell you why.
03:49That is a measuring stick.
03:51They got smacked around
03:53and abused in that matchup.
03:56Offense and defense aligns.
03:57The revenge factor
03:59is huge
04:00in this game.
04:01Everybody's going to buy in
04:02Pat Mahomes,
04:04Travis Kelsey
04:04now engaged
04:05and, you know,
04:06looking for a Super Bowl,
04:08their final,
04:08maybe, you know,
04:09ride in the sunset.
04:12They're going to show out
04:13in this ballgame.
04:15Let's say they bring
04:16their A game
04:16and they get smashed
04:18and lose it
04:19by double digits.
04:21That fear
04:22or that psychological factor
04:23is going to start
04:24to creep in.
04:25We're not the best team anymore.
04:27It's the Philadelphia Eagles.
04:28Do they go off the rails
04:30from that point?
04:31And we know that
04:32they might be the best team
04:33in the AFC,
04:34but when you lose again
04:36in a revenge spot
04:37and let's say lose bad
04:38and I'm talking
04:39double digits,
04:4010, 13 points,
04:4220 points
04:42the way they did
04:43in the Super Bowl
04:44where they're just manhandled
04:45by a bigger,
04:46younger team.
04:47What does that do
04:48to that team moving forward
04:49throughout the AFC West?
04:51That's why I think
04:52that game two
04:53is more important
04:54than game one
04:55for Kansas City.
